Literally the first thing I saw as I woke up this morning.. Heath breaking. Very maturely handled by gukesh.. Stay strong and best of luck for the rest of the tournament good ser
Bro alireza is already on bottom on table..how can he even celebrate with the amount of stress and low confidence he will be having right now 😶..anyways GG alireza..sad for gukesh 😔
@@grownupgaming i think Alireza is a very respectful guy, the main reason for that is he was playing blitz matches against Hans when every other top player was avoiding Hans and calling him a cheater. I don't really care about people's opinion about Hans, support him or don't, it's whatever to me. But Alireza playing him regardless shows that he is a good guy that doesn't care about drama etc, just cares about chess and fashion :)
just love the fact that after going through all those emotions, he calmly and properly arranged both the pieces before leaving. Really hoping for him to hv a gr8 2nd half
The moment Gukesh shakes hands like a true gentleman is one of the most beautiful chess scenes I've ever seen. (Saying as a Firouzja's fan, who just started rooting for Gukesh as well.)
Gukesh is one heck of a gentleman, after blundering his position he didn't even show any kind of anger, just a moment of disgust that too with class, and even shook hands like nothing happened.....this kid will do wonders.....and surely he will win the candidates
What class from this new generation of players. All players from India have won great respect already for their great chess and even better demeanor. Whereas Gukesh fell today, he showed his true classy colors. I’m overwhelmed by how he set up the board for all pieces before he left as he regained his composure. It was a great game and a great battle and Alireza played only to win risking it all under heavy scrutiny, in the end he played all the right moves and this must also be praised. Chess future is bright.
Honestly, this is the best defeat Gukesh can afford to have in the candidates. Losing to Alireza instead of the top/mid table players, is less costly. Secondly, it is great to taste a defeat as well, as there could be the pressure always looming at the back of your head - playing candidates for the first time and unbeaten so far, is a huge pressure and this relieves some of it.
Heartbreaking loss; DG was so close to possibly being the sole leader at the half-way point; Glad there are still 7 rounds to go. Thanks for the beautiful footage, Sagar.
Gukesh well done. But Firoujza also worked magic those last few seconds under pressure! Objectively looking at this, this was a miracle game and a miracle rescue! Most exciting finish of this round
I think people forget about Alireza yes his performance is quite bad right now and his method of entering the candidate is sketchy But he's the youngest player ever to reach 2800 He's a very dangerous player

Gukesh played so well the entire game. Could've converted it so easily if not for the time pressure. I saw it live and my heart broke looking at him punishing himself for this mistake.
