Studying abroad doesn’t magically give you happiness, but it does give you the opportunity to change your environment and selectively surround yourself with people of similar goals, learn more about yourself and things you love, active self love
Coincidentally I’m also in a exchange program. I’m Brazilian and am doing a year abroad in Italy. It’s literally a dream come true, I cannot put into words how fantastic and life changing this experience is. It’s also been so so amazing having one of my fav youtubers doing the same thing as I am, seeing your videos and stories on insta is so heartwarming ❤️
Oh heyyy I'm gonna apply to Italy in a few months , any tips or any advice on wat to expect

I studied abroad in Santa Fe, NM about 10 years ago and watching this made me feel so nostalgic, it was one of the most amazing experiences in my life! I related a lot with what you said about independence and confidence 🤩 also, usa college was waaaayy harder than brazilian college, I agree on the workload aspect you talked about! Loved this video ❤️
I work at a university and I just want to say, especially if you’re studying in the U.K. on a visa - please don’t skip classes, I’ve seen students get kicked off their courses if their attendance is low!
it isn't just based on your attendance tho, if ur doing shit in class and u have low attendance then yeah they may kick u off ur course, however if ur doing great but have poor attendance they honestly wouldn't kick u off. I live in the uk and can safely say this from first hand experience esp if ur meeting all the deadlines and u attend the lecture and seminar like Steph said
@@fahmidahamid3716 it’s ok if you’re an English student and at an English university with low attendance but international students especially have to be careful as the terms of their visa say they have to be attending on campus in order to stay in the country. As I said, I’ve seen quite a few students kicked off their course 😅 also I work at a Law university so the SRA / law firms always check on attendance too. It may be different At Undergraduate but at my uni it’s very strict (even on undergrad and post grad courses)
About the workload, two years ago I went for a semester to Cambridge, UK and I must say the workload there is massive (tons of assignments and papers)! So it really depends on where you go ofc, just a sidenote 😊 but it was indeed a great experience!
Please go study in another country, cause as a person who lives in France I have to say that it’s a bad decision. At least go study in the south of France not the north
@@user-os9hu4yw1c why would it be a bad decision? i live in the north and its not bad, if i was an exchange student id study in the south because of the sea but the north is also cool
im about to finish my year abroad in cardiff and it has literally been the best experience of my life. i relate to everything you guys talked about lol
I’m so happy for you Steph! You are glowing and seem so genuinely happy right now, experiencing all of these things. I’m so jealous but so happy living it vicariously through you. 💗💗💗
Oh boooy, I studied abroad my spring semester of junior year in college. I went alone but had 5 female roommates that also went to my home school. It was the best experience of my life. We all became the best of friends despite being very different people. We were in Florence Italy. I could not recommend studying abroad more! And doing it for more than just a summer. If you can do it affordably I would recommend a year over a semester even. Such nostalgia, those memories are so close to my heart :)
I love Lauren so much she seems like such a good friend 🥺

i studied abroad in barcelona 3 years ago, and this video made me so emotional! it truly is an experience that no one can understand unless they go through it themselves. i would give anything to relive those days :')
I came to the US from Brazil in a international program too and i came without knowing anyone. I had THE BEST time ever! Seriously the best two years of my entire life so enjoy as much as you can 💕
Will you please do a mascara routine tutorial? I know you already have long eyelashes naturally, but i would love to see your techniques bc your lashes always look great
Omg I'm here bc I studied abroad at Sussex too the same term you were there and I'm pretty sure we have some mutuals from the Sussex exchange program! I go to FSU and I just wanted to say I love that you made this vid bc it's good to watch the similar things we went through as Americans studying in the UK
I’m studying abroad next september, i’m going to Portugal and i have so many mix feelings like i’m nervous but so excited because it’s a differente language (i speak spanish), different continent, i’ll be going on my own apart from the other exchange students from my school, it’s the first time i’ll be apart from my family for a whole year and i’m so anxious because i don’t know what to expect from the architecture faculty i just hope that my experience is as half as good as yours
steph you should definitely come to australia one day esp in summer/spring! covid precautions are a lot less now thank god BAHAHAHAHHA also as an aussie you guys being confused about the guy 'rating' lauren is too funny, he thinks shes cute/ likes her as he should x
I really hope to study abroad in the UK next year, but I really want to just stay in the UK. But sadly I don't have the money for staying in the untited kingdom. But all of this really gives me hope that one day I'll be able to do that.
I'm so glad that you've enjoyed your time here. Do you remember back to the short dark cold days of January? I hope the long sunlit days of summer have made up for all that shivering. You have to admit that you are now very different from the excited but sheltered girl who arrived then. Studying abroad truly changes you into a tougher, more confident and capable person, you can now truly anything you want to. Best wishes for the future........................ ..................................................the ancient Englishman.
Im going about to start a study abroad program in January in London for florida state university. It’s not an exchange program because my school has a campus over there. I feel like this will be better because the same people from florida will be in London and when the program is over you’ll have those friends back in florida
Can you please make a video “memories in Brighton” pleasseeee I wanna see everything you two saw and filmed it happy or sad I don’t care I just wanna see it and I hopeeeee that you will make this video cause believe me I’m gonna watch it and I know that I will so freakinggggg love it with some Musik from harry or Taylor. I love you guyssss sooo much and I’m so happy for you both and proud. I learn so much from you. Love Saly from Germany
Ok wait but the question how you can afford to do an exchange year doesn’t answer the question how you get to travel👀 because that’s the juicy part I wanna know
I would love to study abroad but I’m so connected to my family and I need to be close to them all the time. I’m hoping that that will change as I get older and have more privileges. Is there any advice to become a little less dependent on my family and my friends and seeing and doing the same things everyday?
This is really helping ..,I mean the problems that you've been through and then ..you just advising us to be more careful in the future ..is like so warming ..♡︎☕︎🤎 l♡ve you 🥺 it's just a blessing to have a friend like that! *btw be careful out there really there is no joking :T
Honestly the only thing keeping me alive rn is the fact that one day I can study abroad and actually be happy 😀
please when i tell you i feel this on a different level 🤠

how does this work with the different languages? are you having classes in english and write papers in english? or do you need to take italian?
