Just picked one up last week, got to say pretty darn good. This is my first ebike i bought from a manufacturer. My first 2 were custom built bafang mid drive. Getting older and wanted a step thru. I love it has many great features.
I just bought this bike today 11/20/24...the bike is a perfect fit for my needs. Like the IPX ratings for waterproof, ISO certification and which not many people talk about the triple butted aluminum frame, plus its freaking loaded with features. Cant wait to get it
I have listened to a lot of reviews on this bike and it checks off most of my blocks. I went to a local bike shop and rode the large model as I am 6`3" and the seat height was no problem for me. I was very impressed with the ride and it seem to have plenty of power and speed once you got rolling. I too was concerned about the 75 NM of torque as I was used to 86 on my current bike, but got up to speed smoothly. The thing I did not like was the sluggishness from a dead stop using the throttle (boost + PAS 5) or just peddling from a dead start. I am accustomed to using a throttle to start off and when crossing a busy street I need instant acceleration. I get it, some riders are not used to instant power and may startle a new rider. It appears they have bult in a power ramp when starting with the throttle. I wish they had an option for this parameter and make the bike speedier from a dead stop. I would have bought this bike on the spot (black Friday) . I hope Velotric is listening!
75 nm is on the low side to be paired with a 750Watt hub. Also, I would have liked to see a throttle only on the hill test and to know your weight.....this would be the best test.
Did buy a (Bio) Specialized Stumpjumper Expert for 3k In Switzerland just now with some Elitewheels pro 36 Carbon rims for another 550.- Couldn't be happier 😁
Great review - thank you! I’m about ready to pull the trigger on this one. It will be my first e-bike and there are so many brands and choices. It’s a little overwhelming.
I don't own a Velotric, but I've come close several times (almost bought the Nomad last year and, if it had full suspension, WOULD have bought the Summit for e-mtb'ing). Velotric quality & looks (hey, they look sharp) impress me A LOT! Would not heisitate to buy a Velotric.
it is though. The stuff under 1k could be great out of the box but the reliability long term is horrible, and those companies are just creating more waste by making products that don't last. You can get a great used a bike under 1k though. There are way too many e bikes like specialized and trek selling 5k bikes. This is a bargain for the quality the brand has shown and what this bike does I think.
To me electric bikes are still too expensive, these performances are cool but until somebody brings quality with affordability like steam did with the Steam deck, resulting to every other manufacturer pricing their product that same range. Sales of the electric bike will still be low

@@mikeweisman9740 I’m thinking about buying this bike. How’s it doing any issues or should know about?

Congrats it is a great bike
That’s a solid setup with tektros, findmybike, cruise control, and some serious capacity.

One thing that is important to me is I can be confident that it won't catch on fire and burn my house down. I appreciate the true UL certifications.
That's one beautiful bike

Did you buy one?
@@airadaimagery692 yes I did - excellent bike! No problems at all.
Is there a rack to carry this specific bike on the back of your car
Yes but 1st a few questions. Do you have a hitch on your car? If so what size 1 1/4 or 2”?

I am definitely impressed with them so far.
The Nomad 2 will perhaps have full suspension.
The bike looked small as your riding it. What size did you evaluate?
It is a size large and fits properly
Do you have any recommendations for a front rack compatible with this bike? They don’t offer one
If you use my Velotric link in the description then search for “basket” it should pull up. They are $89. They look nice it has a wood bottom.
@@RunBikeMike that’s a basket my friend. I want a front rack
I guess I don’t know the difference sorry
No hill test?
Make sure to watch the video. It is at 1:10
$1,899
$1699 isnt a budget ebike
Be *nice*
Compared to a lot of them this definitely is

Definitely is for a 750w bike that has fenders and a rack
I would agree that budget is the wrong word/a bit of stretch. There needs to be a better word for low price to (quality+feature set) ratio.
O rode one and I was NOT impressed.
Dang, can you elaborate on what you didn’t like about it?

I fully understand that

There are a bunch of solid bikes for $1000. Anything below that is a crap shoot on whether quality control was sleeping.
