I just discovered your channel Sunday after the game. Your analysis is quite perceptive, concise, and pulls no punches. You say in a few sentences what long-winded media-shills take 10 minutes to say. I would personally love to listen to some expanded analysis by you on the rest of the NFL. I know your sub-count isn't large but, you do a solid job my friend!
My God you're insightful. I'd be willing to be that football, or sports in general, is not your only passion. I'd be willing to bet you are also into game theory, general strategy, probability and maybe poker? Great channel. I'm subscribing.
Great analysis! Packers' fans had already seen the decline in Rodgers' game in 2022 when he pouted after the Packers traded Devante Adams away and he promptly refused to throw to rookie WRs. In a must-win game to get into the play-offs, Rodgers played like a chump. The very next year, Jordan Love faced the same situation and beat the Bears to get into the playoffs. Add to that, Rodgers' lack of leadership and general bad non-football baggage and you have a prime situation of a guy who wasn't worth the headache. I feel sorry for Jets' fans but you guys got duped and sold a bag of stones.
I never understood the hype. I had the Jets winning 6 games this year. A washed up, toxic, 40 year old narcissist coming off a serious injury who is now essentially functioning as both QB and defacto GM. That's enough by itself to keep you out of the playoffs.
Personal opinions about Rodgers aside, the problems run way deeper than just a QB. The organization throws bandages on a wound that needs stitches. They think that getting big name players from other teams will make the coaches better and it didn't work. The Jets have had horrible coaches since Rex Ryan, and he was mediocre at best. Also we are delusional as Jets fan because we kind of have to be. We wouldn't watch if we didn't give ourselves false hope....that's where a lot of the hype comes from.
Many or most Jets podcasters were so delusional about Rodgers and this team that they would hide your comment if you said anything less than glowing praise for each. That was disappointing.
@@MVonUtube You're right. But we have to be delusional to an extent even now because there would no point to watch this team each season. In 62 years the Jets have made the playoffs 14 times, they have won 4 division titles, been to 5 AFC Champ games, and have 1 SB in 1968, and have had about 33 losing seasons.....Thats not great
@@DanArchie-r9q I agree with you, I honestly want Rodgers off the Jets at this point because of the drama he brings. My point is we've seen many wrong guesses by the organization that it's hard not believe that with or without Rodgers the team still wasn't going anywhere. Look how awful the just the 3 seasons with Saleh before Rodgers even played. We cant just blame Rodgers
You raise some good points, but the problem is really a Jets' culture problem. The Jets go through the same cycle every 3-4 when they seem to think they are "1 player away," they make a move, it backfires and the Jets must start the next rebuild. Contrast the Jets approach with teams that have successfully rebuilt over the past decade: Cincinnati, Detroit, SF, etc. all stuck with the rebuild until all of a sudden it jelled. The Jets never jelled. Also, I recall one of your podcasts in which you noted in 2022 & 2023, the Jets had incredibly good luck avoiding injuries on the defense and the Jets couldn't count on it to continue indefinitely. You were right. But injuries on defense is something most teams have to deal with and the same is true for the Jets this year.
Totally agree about the "1 player away" fallacy. The franchise consistently bills itself as being a player away, and it's usually the QB. I'd prefer them to just get the franchise to a point of competence. That's what I see when I look at the well-run franchises. They're at least consistently decent, competent, if not great. Then when they get lucky to find a good QB, they're immediately ready to go. They don't have to then build an offensive line, get skill position players, offensive coaches, etc.
That's because the "1 player away" motto is the lazy approach to a rebuild that teams hope would be the short cut to relevancy. It's very rare that 1 player especially out of college could cover up all the warts and deficiencies of a team. Mahomes is close to that but even he is not that. KC had a good culture in place already with Reid and Alex Smith. Mahomes just took it to the next level. It wasn't like he walked into a dumpster pile like the Jets or the Panthers. Once the media starts the "1 player away" battle cry, the fans buy into it, start protesting and there goes the whole rebuild process with the impatience and calling for people's heads the next step.
I would like Jets to build coaching team next season and bring some prospects and get rid of veterans. QB in first round is not necessity in next season I think. Build up staff first. Honestly it is irrelevant if we are 6:11 team with Taylor as QB1 or Rodgers, just do not draft QB in first round and put him on the field and tell him "You must win now!" Great channel by the way.
The problems occur at the top starting with the owner, then the Gm, and finally the Coaching staff. Especially Saleh, who never held his players accountable. Time after time the team has been in the top five in penalties, and JD never improved the offensive line, which also suffered a lot of injuries. In addition, JD, most importantly missed on his QB. The Jets failed to develop Darnold and missed on Zach Wilson. Then JD brought in a guy QB passed his prime, Rodgers, who suffered a very bad injury 4 plays into the season last year.
Two years ago, I said often that this wasn't gonna work. You can't buy a championship. And Rodgers isn't a "builder." This season is not a surprise. I just wish they'd really suck NEXT year, so they'd have a shot at Arch Manning in 2026. Can the Jets screw up a Manning? Maybe, but I'd like to find out.
@@THI5GUYY Look at the Lions, they were bad for a long time. Same with Chicago. Miami hasn't actually won a playoff game in more than twenty years. There are times when teams will do well and go through bad periods.

@@harlanabraham7772 That's my point. Starts from the top. It's hard to believe, or be excited about the future when we have seen this over and over again.
Problem with the Jets front office and the most vocal toxic fans is panicking and not building a foundation/belief based on winning because you know you can vs winning because you’re scared to lose. If you move like you’re expecting a win you don’t implode at the first sight of adversity. Look how quickly the commanders, Texans and lions built that culture.
Hypothetical: would things have gone better, worse (dear god, what a thought), or about the same if the Jets had acquired Derek Carr rather than Aaron Rodgers?
Definitely better. Carr had 2 things going for him that really would have put us in a better position. First is that he was cut before the previous season ended and could be signed before free agency. We could have had our biggest problem solved before free agency even started! Second is that we keep 2 second round picks and the pick swap if we sign Carr. Those 2 second round picks loom large in explaining why we have no depth and little in the way of blue chip young talent. Plus at 13 and with out needing a qb, we could have traded down in the draft and gotten more picks.
Its BOTH bad luck AND incompetence and both compound each other. I don't agree about adams or Williams. in a well coached non dysfunctional system they are both still able to and should hit 900 yard and 5-7td seasons given a wr2 target share. Multiple guys didn't hit cause their washed like tyron but MOST players are under performing because of bad leadership, predictable play calling, lack of accountability. If one of the Harbaugh bros or shanahan or oconnell or vrabel or mcvay or even McDaniels came here this offense would not be capped at 24 points for example. And someone like sauce an elite cover corner, wouldnt be sitting in zone to be exploited by tight ends and power running backs. He would instead be in near permanent shadow coverage on the opposing teams best wr. So that's the incompetence. The luck comes in with injuries(top 5 most injured team over the past decade, especially at key positions)and recent good player unexpected regression (sauce, breece, zuerlein).
Thumbs down 👎. You had an opportunity to be honest but instead you chose not to be. The reason Jets stink is because of Aaron Rodgers was acquired by Woody Johnson. Period. You blame ANYTHING ELSE you're either lying or you're being disingenuous.
