My expertise is 20+ years in Digital imagery and 3D development. The shroud is unique, using the photonegative, it creates a perfect relief map. 3D renders programs need relief maps to create exact terrains and landscapes. There is no relief map that can be scaled indefinitely without creating distortion except the shroud. It’s impossible using today’s current technology (2024). It also has stroboscopic photography, which is where several images are captured due to movement. The shadow turn also displays this with 5 subtle movements. So when the image was being created on the cloth, the body was in movement. God bless everybody, and God bless you for this channel! Thank you for spreading the good word and such beautiful truth ❤

Amazing, thank you. I'm always in awe how the deeper you go into any scientific field, the closer you get to God: cosmology, biology, physics, archeology, etc.
As the father of quantum mechanics Werner Heisenberg said, "The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you."

I think the biggest argument for this, being that the shroud is 2000 years old, how would you do that in the first century? Especially if no one can do it today. Secondly, if it isn’t, Jesus, how else would that source of light be explained to produce that image.
Let’s not lose sight that if this is or isn’t the actual shroud, we still have the truth of Jesus Christ, dying for my sins on that cross bearing my punishment That I deserved. That image, no matter what, I don’t think, it should be worshiped, Jesus is the one that should be worshiped and praised.

      (a) It was created in the medieval period. The carbon dating is valid, kvetching aside. You need ~100% contamination to move the date from 700 to 2000.
      (b) If you don't know how to do something, that also means you can't declare with near-100% confidence that nobody else can do it either. Comments about the shroud are filled with people declaring what is and isn't possible, something which is dodgy enough when you are an expert, much less someone who
      (c) has a clearly motivated belief. Apart from it being presented as being Jesus much, much later, there's no provenance for the piece. The Pawn Stars expert would say "can't be authenticated" and Rick would say, "pretty neat, but I'm going to have to pass."

This is so awesome. I watched a show where two people researching the shroud and they were trying to figure out how the light transferred to the linen and they used an expensive huge scanner to show how the light that resurrected Jesus Christ could have been something like the light of a scanner and it was so amazing I watched that probably 15-20 years ago but this new evidence is coming to life in God’s perfect timing to show the world he is real and Jesus Christ is real.

Fun fact! in the time of Jesus, Kings at dinner, would fold their napkins if they left the table, to let the server know they were coming back. The face cloth of Jesus was also folded. Which evidence you mean? According to the GOSPELS' CONTEXT the Shroud of Turin CANNOT BE the authentic burial cloth of Jesus Christ!
This can be checked quite simply by trying to answer the following questions on the basis of the Bible:
      (1) What is the correct bible translation of the Greek word “sindón” - “a linen Shroud” or “linen cloth”?
There is no indefinite article "a" in the original Greek texts of Matthew 27:59, Mark 15:46 and Luke 23:53. So, the CONTEXT is decisive and the correct unbiased translation/interpretation of SINDON must be "linen cloth" because Joseph of Arimathea bought ALL the needed burial linen cloth: bandages/strips (OTHONION) and the head cloth (SOUDARION).
And John didn't mention SINDON in his gospel because he also didn't mention the all-inclusive purchase of Joseph of Arimathea. John focused more on the burial and resurrection details and there is nothing like the Shroud.
      (2) What happened to the “burial spices” - a 32 kg sticky mixture of myrrh and aloes?
      John 19
39Nicodemus, who had previously come to Jesus at night, also brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds [32 KG]. 40So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it in linen cloths [OTHONION] with [META] the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom.
Nicodemus was a leading Rabbi who knew WHAT was needed, HOW MUCH and that there was ENOUGH TIME to do the burial spicing. Jesus died around 3 pm and Sabbath started around 6 pm. Enough time to take the body from the cross, to wrap/bind the body in linen cloths (OTHONION) W I T H the spices between those bandages/strips according to the burial custom of Jews at that time and to transport Jesus to the nearby rock-tomb.
      (3) What the women intended to do after Sabbath - “anointing” or “burial spicing”?
As shown above, the burial spicing was completely done by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. This was observed by the women. After Sabbath they intended to ANOINT Jesus' head as an act of honour, removing and readding the head cloth (SOUDARION).
      (4) Why to use an extra head cloth „soudarion“ when wrapping a body in something like the Shroud?
The head cloth (SOUDARION) fully covered the head and the rest of the body was wrapped/bound in linen cloths (OTHONION]) with the spices between those bandages/strips. The head cloth was part of the burial custom of (rich) Jews at that time. If used it remains on the head, as we can see in the gospel of John:
      John 11:44
44The man [Lazarus] who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth [SOUDARION]. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
      (5) What convinced the people in the 1st century that Jesus rose the third day?
So, there is NO EVIDENCE for something like the Shroud in the gospels. It clearly contradicts the context and it didn‘t play any role from the beginning of the real church of Christ. No Shroud was and is needed to believe in the resurrection and overall in Jesus Christ:
Joseph of Arimathea bought all the needed linen cloth (SINDON). That means bandages/strips (OTHONION) and the head cloth (SOUDARION). Nicodemus organised about 32 kg spices. That means a sticky mixture of myrrh and aloes. Jesus was taken from the cross. Then the body - except the head - was wrapped/bound in situ with (META) the spices between the bandages/strips (OTHONION), according to the burial custom of (rich) Jews at that time. The head was covered with the head cloth (SOUDARION). Even then Jesus was carried to the nearby rock-tomb and was laid in there. The rock-tomb was closed with a stone and sealed. This was observed by the women from a certain distance. After Sabbath the women intended to anoint Jesus head removing and readding the head cloth (SOUDARION) but ...

A 2000 year old selfie...an aid to faith...a calling card. Once we take it to be authentic and lines up with the gospel accounts the real challenge is the meaning behind it. As Dr. Johnston says it shows the extent of the suffering and points to the attributes of God. God is Love. God is Light. (That certainly fits this image of the resurrection and how we think it was created) God is Eternal Life.

Not much doubt as to your Shroud ignorance. 1. 'And Joseph bought a linen *shroud,* and taking him down, wrapped him in the linen *shroud* [Mark 15:46] 2. 'And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen *shroud'* [Matthew 27:59] 3. 'Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen *shroud'* [Luke 23:53] Each of the synoptic Gospels mention Joseph of Arimathea making use of a single linen cloth to wrap the body of Jesus for burial. The Word 'Sindon' (singular noun ) means 'A clean sheet' and the Word 'Othonion' (plural noun) means 'bandages'. Luke uses the same plural noun (Othonion), “funeral linens,” in his account of the Resurrection (Luke 24: 12) after earlier speaking of the singular burial cloth (Sindon) or *shroud* (Luke 23 :53) . This plural noun mentioned in (Luke 24: 12) is intended to include all the funeral elements such as : 1) A long *shroud( - It's used to wrap whole body 2)A face cloth or 'Soudarion' - It's not used to wrap whole head but to wipe the perspiration from one’s face. The Greek word 'Soudarion' was derived from a Latin word for “sweat.” 3)A few stripes of linen - They help to tie a shroud around a body The Fourth Gospel never mentions such a 'Sindon'. Instead, John writes of Joseph and Nicodemus “binding the body of Jesus in strips of linen” The verb 'Binding' ( δέω) is frequently found in the context of binding a prisoner with chains. (Mark 5.3; 6.17; Acts 12.6; 21.33) John uses the same verb in Revelation for the 'binding' of the dragon (Rev 20: 2)

There is NO EVIDENCE for something like the Shroud in the Scripture. All starts with misleading Bible interpretations by Shroud defenders and by cherry-picking. All the biblical details that fit with their SHROUD CULT are emphasised: scourging, thorny crown, nails and spear wound.
But when it comes to the BURIAL DESCRIPTION of the gospels then they do not hesitate to ignore, twist, mystify and discredit the Scripture. Some collected NONSENS below:
The only correct translation of SINDON is "A linen shroud/sheet/cloth".
The head cloth was added on the cross and removed/folded by somebody in the rock-tomb (beverlyhurd8556).
The removal of the head cloth was a burial custom of Jews.
The spices were never or partly added due to lack of time.
Jars of spices were brought into the tomb but never used on the body due to fast-approaching Sabbath (Barrie Schwortz quoted by beverlyhurd8556).
The spices maybe were added as packages (Andrew Dalton on channel "The Gracious Guest")
The final wrapping was done in the rock-tomb.
The women wanted to do/finish the "burial spicing" after Sabbath because "anointing" means the same.
The Shroud is the "sign of Jonah" (jeffreyerwin3665).
The image of the Shroud is the reason why Peter and John "saw and believed" the resurrection.
The Shroud/Image was no longer mentioned after resurrection to protect it as a gift for the 20th and 21st century (jeffreyerwin3665).
Open your Bible and prove yourself. I did and the result you can find in a video presentation/description on my channel. Click icon W to the left-top.

@@matswessling6600 Luigi may have created an image, but did he find a 2000 year old shroud, with fibres deteriorating at the precise rate of fibres seen from the time of the first century, then he would need to find the exact spores from plants only grown in Jerusalem at the time of year of the crucifixion 2000 years ago. Not to mention he would have had to provide three different blood types, one alive pre crucifixion from extreme torture, one where his oxygen levels were depleted and the other post mortem, then these blood types would need to be present at exactly the same locations as the crown of thorns, the scourging, the nailed hands and feet and the wound from the spear. Oh and for the blood to have seeped in just the right location in the expected quantities in all three types.
Then we can add that the scientists found no trace of paint or ochre as Luigi would put it. He might be able to produce an image like that today with some paint magic. But that’s not what the scientists found. However you keep blinding yourself from the truth all you want…

Unfortunately, even if it was almost certain that this is the shroud of Jesus of Nazareth, it will for the large majority only be an historical evidence that Jesus has existed and has been crucified as presented in the gospels. To believe that the image comes through his resurrection and that he is God, that his death was for our salvation and eternal life will certainly not be accepted or understood by the large majority of the people on earth. Our faith is not based on the authenticity of the shroud and this shroud should not in the future be presented as a key element of the Christian faith ! Only the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in us are what bring us in the kingdom of God. Nevertheless, if the shroud of Turin is genuine, this could be used by God to open the eyes of many persons concerning the authenticity of the gospels.

What the Bible says: Jesus’ dead body was wrapped, not in one piece of linen, but in multiple strips of cloth. His head was wrapped in a separate cloth. After Jesus was resurrected, one of his apostles came to the empty tomb and “saw the linen cloths lying there.” The Bible adds: “The cloth that had been on his head was not lying with the other cloth bands but was rolled up in a place by itself.”-John 20:6, 7.
The shroud contains markings presumed to be bloodstains from an unwashed corpse.

I remember when I learned about it back in the early 20-teens. When it talked about the photographer who was with the group of scientists that studied the shroud back in the 80s-the article and the video report; he stated that when he looked at the photographs he developed, and looked again at the ‘negative’ he stated the image looked like a negative of an image. In the video where these ‘expert’ scientists were interviewed, as was he, he went into detail as to why he thought it was a ‘negative’ image. That made a lot of sense to me. Though I wasn’t 100% sure, I was fairly sure that it was real. Plus, all the attention it had gotten over the years. Medical doctors described what the person on the shroud went through. The resulting condition from the amount of trauma just from the lashings and the amount of blood loss and pain, how that would affect the organs. All matched.
Knowledge will increase in the last days…boy, I’d say. This ALONE is massive!
Thank you JESUS for all of your love! All of your sacrifice!! For leaving “Easter eggs” for us to find. For showing us SO many things proving our Bible< True!!

The head cloth was part of the burial custom of Jews at that time, as we can see in the gospel of John:

QUESTION: When testing the blood in the shroud, AB, does it signify that it is only genetically derived from the mother only and none from the (earthly) father? This would give more credence to the virgin birth because, as I understand it, blood shows both parental genes represented in the offspring of the parents.

Hi...great presentation. I have learned that there were 2 floggers. One flogger was tall and the other shorter and one was more vicious. The cross beam was in the shape of a T and was inserted into a corresponding hole in a stake already in place. The crucified person was barely off the ground and naked. The cloth or Suderium of Oviedo, meaning the "sweat cloth" stored at Oviedo was usually carried by people to wipe sweat off their faces. As Yeshua Jesus was on the cross His sweat cloth was used to wrap around His head after death. When His friends took Him off the cross He was laid face down on the ground. When they got permission to place Him in the tomb they continued to carry Him face down. Someone tried to hold His nose closed as the blood and water were gushing (not my words) out of His lungs. Scientists gathered in Oviedo to study the sweat cloth and did 6,000 tests to determine why there was a "pattern" to the stains on the Shroud. I would direct you to a Dr. Mark Guscin who has recorded all this info. Blessings!! ❤

the Jewish photographer on the project from the start said he never believed it was real because the blood still looked red. But when he finds out that when a person goes into shock from torture, the blood will always stay red. So he believes it's real and was Jesus, but he still doesn't believe that he was their Messianic son of David.
I think Jewish people believe the Messiah would come once, conquer and rule. We as Christians believe he will come twice, defeating death (killed & rise), then rule.

It's actually a one frame video. Reflective imaging shows movement. About six seconds worth. It shows our Lord and Savior's first two waking breaths and His arms and legs begin to move to unwrap Himself. The Shroud had unwrapped by itself and the body was levitating when transfiguration happened. He was also facing down when put into the tomb but no "flat" areas in the image so the only thing would be levitation to explain it. A proton, neutron flash might produce that but neutrons destroy organic matter. Too perfect. Too good to be true. Then I realize this is Jesus and how else would He leave a video for all of history to witness? In epic fashion! Too perfect and too good...leaves no room for doubt. That's the face of Jesus Christ, our Maker.

An instrument of pure torture. The Suffering. I've done my research into Roman scourging and what the purpose of it was. 120 lashes from two Roman centurions. They used two types of flagrum at the same time. To bring a man within a breath away from death so a quick death happens when crucified. The carrying of the cross beam is also to drain more blood for an even quicker death. Usually the crucified doesn't live past an hr. Every mark is shown. I can confidently say the Shroud of Christ is not a forgery. To look upon the face of Jesus...that's a priceless gift from God.

If you notice all the pics of Jesus being removed from the cross, they used a strip of the cloth to lower him from the cross as was common at that time. If you research it, you will see the strip sewn on long ways down the side. So at one time, it was in two long strips.

I think the reason the shroud of Jesus is mentioned in the gospels is because the disciples knew of the image on the burial cloth. Could it be possible that the early church used this shroud as a piece of evidence to show the resurrected Christ to nonbelievers? Is it possible that Paul had the shroud on some of his missionary journeys? In 2 Timothy 4:13 Paul wrote to Timothy “The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments”. The Greek word used here for cloak is not the normal greek word used for cloak. It is a unique word never used anywhere else in New Testament or other Ancient Greek manuscripts. The word used in 2 Timothy is phailonen (φαιλόνην). The normal Greek word used for cloak is Φελόνης or Χιτωυ. Could this be referring to the shroud? Also in Galatians 3:1 Paul writes “ O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?”. Why does he say to the Galatians that before their “eyes Jesus Christ hasty been evidently set forth”? And also says “Crucified among you”? Galatia is in the middle of modern day Turkey, no anywhere near Jerusalem. How could they have seen Jesus Christ, or seen him crucified? They couldn’t have unless they saw a photo of the crucified Christ. A photo that we now call the Shroud of Turin.

    I have a few questions:
    1. If the cloth that covered Messiah's head was folded up neatly, why does this 'shroud' have the imprint of the whole body of this person?
    2. If only one intact cloth was used as a burial shroud for Messiah, why does my Holy Bible says that the folded up cloth that covered His head was laying beside the CLOTHS (plural) that He was wrapped in....
    3. Sunlight alone will bleach blood stains, and the energy of Light that was apparently generated when He was resurrected FAR surpasses that of 'sunlight'...so why does this 'shroud' contain definitive blood stains?
I have more questions, but I will be happy if just these few can be answered logically....

John 20:8 - "he saw and believed". The next verse said "(NKJV) For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead." So I assume that John and Peter didn't understand that Jesus resurrected. Or they won't thought that Mary and friends was telling "idle tales" and "didn't believe them" (Luke 24:11) So think Peter and John believed that Jesus was gone, not that He resurrected.

I agree and there is much more.
Apart from this and considering the context, a correct unbiased translation/interpretation of SINDON must be "linen cloth" because Joseph of Arimathea must have bought ALL the needed burial linen cloth: bandages/strips (OTHONION) and the head cloth (SOUDARION).
The head cloth was part of the burial custom of Jews at that time, as we can see in the gospel of John:
Jesus was taken from the cross and maybe he was also washed.

STURP (Shroud of Turin Research Program 1978-1981) report confirms very good that the Shroud CANNOT BE the authentic burial cloth of Jesus:
      I. SPICES
According to the Gospel of John the body was CERTAINLY wrapped/bound in linen cloths WITH the spices:
Jesus died around 3 pm and Sabbath started around 6 pm. So, enough time to take the body from the cross, to wrap it according to the burial custom of Jews at that time and to transport Jesus to the nearby rock-tomb.
So, there must be at least non biodegradable particles and stains like it is claimed for blood. But there was/is EMPHASISED NOTHING. Already that is enough to disprove the Shroud, comparing it with the biblical account.
      II. IMAGE
And the image itself is a contradiction. There is no shading of the bodys' sides and the top of the head? Also the contact-distance pattern of the backside doesn't correspond the forensic pattern of a dead body lying e.g. on a plate. Folds, overlappings and wavy areas are inevitable as shown in a Shroud wrapping simulation video to explain "scientifically" (why without spices?!) the blood stain pattern:
      III. FAZIT
Both, wrapping together with spices never would have resulted in such an undistorted 2D projection image. And other "scientific" discussions are irrelevant as long there is no BIBLICAL evidence that Jesus was wrapped in something like the Shroud.
More biblical details are shown in a video presentation on my channel. Click icon W to the left-top of this comment.
      IV. SOURCES
      (a) Excerpt of STURPs 1981 final report:
"Microchemical evaluation has indicated NO EVIDENCE OF ANY SPICES, OILS, or any biochemicals known to be produced by the body in life or in death.
It is clear that there has been a DIRECT CONTACT OF THE SHROUD WITH A BODY, which explains certain features such as scourge marks, as well as the blood."
      (b) Channel: David Rolfe
:Shroud of Turin - How the Shroud wrapped the body"
There are two parts - the links you can find on my channels' Playlist. As you can see no use of 32 kg spices.

I’ve been following this from a distance since before the 1988 radiocarbon testing. When I first heard of the Shroud of Turin I was absolutely convinced that it could not possibly be for real. I kept up with the debate to the extent I did because I wanted to see it fully debunked. The arguments have gone this way and that, but nobody has ever produced a slam-dunk argument against the authenticity of the Shroud, other than the carefully curated results of the carbon-dating, and the atheist’s catch-all cat-call, “I don’t believe that’s possible! ‘Science’ denies even the possibility of that happening.”
Now we know that the carbon-dating was (I can say this, where others maybe can’t) falsified by choosing to test a piece of a patch that was known to have been applied in the Middle Ages, and by the cover-up of the actual test data, all we have is the cat-call. “It CAN’T be!” is not a rational argument. If the data push us in one direction, we must follow the data, and the data appear to be unequivocal. It is not possible for the Shroud to be a counterfeited fake (blood, image-depth/density, etc.); the photo-realistic negative-image, the 3D effect, the lack of paint or pigment, the pollen, the wounds, the blood-type, the chain of custody since the Middle Ages: if it isn’t really the shroud of Jesus who is called the Christ, then WHAT on earth is it?
All the evidence seems to point to the conclusion I thought impossible when I first started tracking this story. I am now about 75% persuaded of the Shroud’s authenticity. There’s still a bit of unreconstructed sceptic in me, but he’s reeling and punch-drunk from this video. His days are numbered.

The Shroud of Turin with its image of a tortured and crucified man never ceases to fascinate people. Some are convinced that it is the authentic burial cloth of Jesus Christ, while others firmly reject this.
Sindonology is the regarding formal study of the Shroud. The name is from the Greek word σινδών-sindón, the word used in e.g. the Gospel of Mark 15:46 to describe the type of the burial cloth.
But according to the gospels context - can the Shroud of Turin really be the authentic burial cloth of Jesus Christ?
This can be checked quite simply by trying to answer the following questions on the basis of the Bible:
    (1) What is the correct bible translation of the Greek word “sindón” - “a linen Shroud” or “linen cloth”?
There is no indefinite article "a" in the original Greek texts of Matthew, Mark and Luke. If you actually are so _incredibly stupid_ as to believe the Shroud is a fake, then you must explain how whoever fabricated it must have:
      1. Known the precise methods of crucifixion in the first century.
      2. Be proficient enough in over 100 scientific disciplines and also collectively outweigh the intelligence of the people who performed hundreds and hundreds of tests on the Shroud and who are not finding any indications of a forgery.
      3. Possessed the medical knowledge of a modern expert surgeon.
      4. Utilized an art process unknown to any great master, never duplicated before or since.
      5. Be able to foresee and approximate principles of photographic negativity that would not be discovered for centuries.
      6. Imported a piece of old cloth of Middle Eastern manufacture.
      7. Used a coloring agent which would be unaffected by intense heat.
      8. Be able to incorporate in his work details (that have only recently been discovered), that the human eye cannot see and that are visible only with the most advanced computer-scanning devices.
      9. Be able to reproduce flawlessly, on a nearly flat linen surface, in a single color, undistorted 3-D characteristics of a human body in a 'negative format' on the tops of the threads, while conversely showing the 'blood' as positive and soaking all the way through.
      10. Get somewhere the blood of a tortured man and apply it before creating the image.
      11. Get limestone from Jerusalem, and pollen particles from the middle east, in special from plants with thorns, that flourish only between March and April.

The Shroud cult discredits the Authenticity of the Scripture. If Shroudies would study the Bible with the same intensity they wouldn't share the following collected NONSENS anymore:
The only correct translation of SINDON is "A linen shroud/sheet/cloth".
The head cloth was added on the cross and removed/folded by somebody in the rock-tomb.
The removal of the head cloth was either a burial custom of Jews or an instruction of an angel in the rock-tomb.
The spices were never or partly added due to lack of time.
Jars of spices were brought into the tomb but never used on the body due to fast-approaching Sabbath.
The spices maybe were added as packages.
The final wrapping was done in the rock-tomb.
The women wanted to finish the "burial spicing" after Sabbath because "anointing" means the same.
The Shroud is the "sign of Jonah".
The body was either in vertical position (lifted up), or gravity has been altered before the image creation by an unknown radiation/flash.
The image of the Shroud is the reason why Peter and John "saw and believed" the resurrection.
The Shroud/Image was no longer mentioned after resurrection to protect it as a gift for the 20th and 21st century.
Paul referred to the Shroud in Galatians 3,1 when writing "Jesus was portrayed as crucified".
Again - SINDONOLOGY is the best evidence ...
      1 Corinthians 3,19
... for the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”.

Sort of. There is the Sudarium of Oviedo which was used to wrap the head of Jesus after he died but was still on the cross. After Joesph of Arimathea and Nicodemus brought him into the tomb it was removed and set aside. It was not on him when he was resurrected. Had it been then his head image would have been on there instead of the Shroud. But there are like 130 points of congruity between the Sudarium and the Shroud which proves 100% that they both were on the same body at one time. ✝

Those of us that are both intelligent and know the Bible as well as the Shroud know that the facecloth of Jesus was wrapped around his head after he died but was still on the cross. After Joeseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus brought the body of Jesus into the tomb it was removed, folded, and set aside. It was never put back on him again. Had he been wearing it his image would be on there and not the Shroud. Is there any way possible that you can understand that? The burial linen is not the shroud. He doesn't talk about the biblical descriptions. Where is the evidence of the spices? 100 lbs. of it. Why did it not appear for over 1000 years?
    Luke 24:12 NKJV
But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.
    John 20:5-7 NKJV
And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.

      Original Word: στέγω
      Part of Speech: Verb
      Transliteration: stegó
      Phonetic Spelling: (steg'-o)
Definition: to cover closely (so as to keep water out), generally to bear up under

Scripture is very clear about idols/statues, they are forbidden. Interestingly enough the Catholic church omits the second commandments, and makes two commandments of the tenth commandment. Guess who owns the shroud ?
The Shroud of Turin is owned by the person of the Pope, currently Pope Francis. The shroud has been kept in Turin, Italy since 1578 and is currently housed in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
Guess who is unifying all religions under the leadership of the pope ?
So what are people to do now ? Bow down to the supposed image of Jesus Christ ??? and worship it ??? and pray to it ???
This is indoctrination by the Vatican. The anti christ will make people bow and worship a statue of him. The image on the shroud might just be that image.
Moses had an image of a snake put on a pole. All who were bitten by snakes could look on the image and be saved from death. This was a type of Jesus Christ dying for the sins of man. That snake image was destroyed by one of Israel's kings because the people made it an idol. Certainly God would not do the same with an image of His Son.
Jesus came from Nazareth but he was not a Nazarene. He did not have long hair. The males Jews didn't have long hair like a woman. In addition I believe I read that the closed eyes on the shroud had pagan coins over them !!! If this is true then certainly Nicodemus would not have done this when he prepared Jesus body for burial.
The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation, and not an image.
Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God, and not by an image.
The Gospel is foolishness unto men but it is the power of God unto salvation unto all who believe.
God is working with His Word to save people and NOT an image of any kind.............period.
Many other Scriptures point to this fact

So God told man not to make an image of Him and then He made an image of Himself ???
The shroud is an attempt to sidestep the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the Vatican, who has always opposed salvation by Faith alone in Jesus Christ, and has placed a curse on all who believe what the Scripture says.
Those of us who really know the Scriptures know what is going on and an how to rightly divide the word of God.
Lying signs, wonders, and miracles are the order of the day in these end times.

The "linen cloths" refer to the strips of linen that were used to secure the "sindone" to the body. The "other disciple" saw these while he was still outside of the tomb. The other disciple then entered the tomb and he saw something which caused him to believe ("He saw and he believed.")
The two questions are: 1. What was it that this other disciple saw that so impressed him, and 2. Why doesn't John tell us what that object was? It must have been very important.
If that other disciple noticed an image of Jesus' dead body on the burial shroud, that would have caused him to believe. If there was such an image on Jesus burial shroud, that fact would have needed to have been kept a secret. If the authorities had learned of it, they would have searched out the shroud and destroyed it.

No evidence for the Shroud in the Bible means that all your pseudo-science Sindonology garbage is the best evidence ...
      1 Corinthians 3,19
... for the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”.

@@wipo3654 While no one at this time can prove 100% that the Shroud of Turin once contained the body of Jesus, those of us that have studied it and have at least normal intelligence (which leaves you out), know that it once wrapped Jesus. You have not studied anything at all about the Shroud, have you? How the fabric, the pollen and dirt on it at date to Biblical days of Jerusalem? They have proven was that it contained a body that was beaten like Jesus was, scourged like Jesus was, was crucified like Jesus was AND *wore a cap of thorns* (only Jesus in recorded history was crucified wearing one of those) like Jesus was. To those of us that are blessed with better than average intelligence that spells it out quite clearly. And the thousands of manhours of research do a fine job at showing who was on the Shroud as well. These days, only the super dumb or the super ignorant will call the Shroud a fake.

I heard recently that they ran DNA on the blood and found all the DNA from the mother, but only 1 strand of DNA of the father. Is this true?

The people who say the shroud is fake or isn't Jesus are the same ones even if u had Jesus himself saying hey yep I took the first selfie, would still deny it being real because then they'd have to admit that the bible is true and they'd have to stop living in sin and accept Jesus as their Savior to get to heaven and they love their sinful life and don't want to change. So it's easier for them to deny what evidence is in their faces and says no it's a forgery and fake than change their lives around.

Have they or could they check the blood DNA to see if the blood was from only the mother. Its just something that someone had said that Jesus had only the blood of Mary in his DNA.

How will they do that? Anyone got some her blood to test? Maybe a few strands of her hair?

Not relevant. In the first century Jesus was known as "Yeshu ben Pantera." See: Tiberius Julius Abdes Pantera.

I was talking about the blood type. Only one blood DNA would be there since he had only one early parent. An archeology years ago says he thinks he found the Ark of the covenant. The blood between the angels on the top of the Ark was tested , the blood type was AB and the DNA come back saying that the DNA testing results were that only female chromosones were found and no male. So only a mother's DNA was found. He said that where he thought he had found the Ark was near the garden tomb. I think his name was Ron Wyatt. I don't know if its true. It was just weird.

As for the Blood on the shroud
it contains some human Chromosomes, however other information on the DNA are either scrambled, missing or not looking human.
So even as the blood is human, it's not entirely human,
      if you catch my drift.

@@jeffreyerwin3665this is a very weak argument introduced via the Talmud possibly during 2nd century in attempt to attack the Christian movement. Most scholars disagree with this theory, something revolutionary happened that led to so many Jews converting to their new faith .. if it was a Roman solider he would have been beheaded as Paul was and not crucified as told by the 4 witnesses statements of the gospels. The Jews were hellbent on trying to stop this movement but nothing was strong enough to stop it .. Christianity turned the world upside down and exploded across the Middle East and surrounding areas

    [ @16:54 ] Jesus was pierced in the side not the heart;
    John19 kjv
33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already,
    they brake not his legs:
34 but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side,
and forthwith came there out blood and water.
    35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true;
and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

This surely cannot be the same outline of the face of the Turin Jesus. It looks like the face of Keanu Reeves.
