Nice to watch, and I can imagine how you felt when the desk arrived and you could bring everything on place. That are satisfying moments. Have fun in your new studio 😊
Hey Edward. I Saw that with your dell laptop you have to keep the lid open to keep your monitor screen on. To Fix that Go to your control panel then click on hardware and sound and after that go to power options then system settings and when you see the "when i close the lid" change that to do nothing
Wow! This was amazing to watch. From the first part of your building process to the second video following up and concluding the build and it is fantastic 🔥 Your setup and the way you have put everything together is so satisfying. The part where you showed how you manage your cables was the icing on the cake🔥 It is so inspiring and motivates me to keep going and believe that one day I'll have a great setup too Great work!👊🏾💪🏾
That is definitely one heck of a desk. Looks great and efficient! The picture on your screen monitor was so clear. I also love the natural light available when you want it. Very nice! ❤❤❤
Yes!!! I have this video idea listed for early next year. Just want to wait until all the new updates and products have been released so that we can pick from all the gear old and new🫡
That space is coming together really well! My compliments! I bought an Onda Angled Oak for my renovated studio. Love the layout and its appearance in the room. And it comes at an unbeatable price level. The only thing that bothers me is the rather sharp edge of the massive wooden "arm rests". They look awesome, but for my length (1.91m) there is just not enough height for my legs to be comfortably positioned. I already maxed out the adjustable feet so I am looking into making myself some oak risers. Or cutting off a centimeter of 2 of the arm rests. The latter I am not that comfortable with actually... p.s. You linked to the first version of the Zoar Onda Angled. The one you have is the mkII, with added rackspace in the feet. ;-)
Wow, I'm just a little envious:) It all looks beautifully thought out and designed resulting in a something aesthically pleasing, functional and kitted out with top notch gear. It is an inviting space and I imagine its a joy to work in such a space that inspires you further on your music production journey. I've watched a bunch of your gear reviews, tutorials and bits over the years and your hard work has evidently led you to where you are now. Its great to see. I'm curious, did you produce the tracks used in this video? They sound really good, top notch productions. Would love to hear more of your work on this channel and see your recording process.
Why are you not using the Soyuz 017 FET you recomend in your video for your vocals but rather the u87? Willing to invest in a really good mic and trying to have all the info posible before trying them. Great great video, keep up the amaizng work! :)
@@adriaperez6446 I love both microphones. I use my U87 more because it has a brighter sound that works well for more than just recording vocals… like my voice overs and also recording acoustic guitar. If I’m only recording vocals on the day and I’m focused on getting that warmth… that’s when I go with the 017 FET. There is no better mic at $2500 than the 017 FET… the U87 is $1000 more 🫠
@ I’d also love to see more content on the Blue Spark SL, they have come down in price significantly and could possibly be a great choice for a lot of people. The spark is now at 80 dollars US I believe.
Hi there Ed. Greetings from a fellow Saffa. That is one sweet setup you have there. Is the boom arm for the mike manoeuvrable enough for you to record vocals standing up, as well as well as articulate it to record acoustic guitar sitting down. Happy recording.
Hi. The boom arm I'm using is decent, but not as good as a Rode PSA-1... and for recording vocals while standing, I don't think any boom arm is going to work unfortunately.
@@EdwardSmithMusic That is a shame. I had expected as much. Looking for a solution to easily record vocals sitting down, standing up, as well as recording acoustic guitar near the sound hole. Cheers.
Hello! I just recently discovered your channel, and I will say I absolutely love it. You do an amazing job at the reviews, they have been super helpful. I want to start getting into music production and midi. I am learning how to use cakewalk by band lab and am using a windows laptop(in case those details matter for my next question) what would you suggest for for budget/beginner hardware that I could start with: headphones, midi controllers(I have been looking at the Arturia mini lab 3), audio interfaces. I have no idea what I’m doing but I would like some suggestions to help with looking for budget but decent stuff to begin learning with. Thank you for taking your time to read this and giving suggestions!
Hard to say since I haven’t used my Adam’s in this new space yet… but, so far these iLouds are solid, but I’ll be sticking with my Adam’s once they arrive from my previous studio 🫡
Hey Edward, great video! love your setup! Quick question, in order to turn on your studio monitors directly from the power conditioner I assume you always have the monitor button on the "on" side. Is there any consideration if I want to do the same, like any thing I need to avoid doing to not damage my monitors?
Yes, the switch on my monitors are always on. I don't think there is any risks doing this. Whether you use the switch on the monitors or the power conditioner, both are connect and disconnect the electrical current in the same way... I've also done this for a few years now and I haven't had any issues.
I’ve watched many videos of yours over the years. Never subscribed and to be honest your videos were never really my cup of tea. It’s not that I disliked you or your videos necessarily. They just didn’t hit with me. This video was the best I’ve seen from you by far. 100% on point. Thank you Edward for al the hard work you put into your channel. I am officially subscribed.

Save the blank white wall for photo shoots promos they’re Incredibly handy.

Yes, the view of the trees is awesome 😆 Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏻
Great Desk! We have bought a desk by Music Customs unfortunately only available in Germany. Custom made for our needs. 🤘🏻
Beautiful studio setup. Home studios are the way!
Thanks, I agree - home studios are amazing!
You definitely need to put an electronic drum kit in that unused space.
Was just about to say that
Great setup❤
Thank you!!
This is awesome, i’m glad you finally found “the one”
Thank you 🙏🏻

Maybe i didn't catch it but you should record all your audio to an external drive.
Still here stuck with my passive studio monitors
How come you did not go with a patch panel to keep you from having going to behind the desk plugging and unplugging things?
That’s my plan going forward 🫡

Go for PSI monitors . Thank me later .
How cheap could a good quality set-up be? Cheap good quality speaker, headphones, Monitor, microphone, interface etc...
Didn't you just spend 2.5k on a studio desk earlier this year😂
