I liked that you showed using he Cricut and explained what you were doing. Also showing the use of transfer tape was very helpful, especially seeing it done.
Hi Jess, I just found your channel. If will, please allow an old man to make a suggestion. When using Pine boards that you want to stain, I'd suggest using a pre-stain conditioner. This only adds about 10-15 minutes per side to your process. But with the pre-stain conditioner, Pine accepts the stain more uniformly, less blotchy. You apply the pre-stain liberally to one side, wait 10 minutes, wipe off the access. Flip it over, then repeat the process for the second side. By the time you are finished with the second side, the first side should be dry enough to stain. You will be happy with the way the board will accept the stain. Frank "Pops" Jenkins
@@jessicajeneice I make custom handmade signs using a wood router. I don't use a CNC. Glad to pass on the tip to you. I have a TH-cam channel under my name. Good luck.
Love the video. It would be very useful if you put the materials used on the description, like, what type of vinyl did you use, where did you got the wood, etc
I watched another video where she said to spray your project with a few coats of the modgepodge and let it dry then wipe it down with alcohol and then apply the vinyl. Helps it adhere better.
What kind of paint is the best for these round signs? Do u always stain and then paint? What I'd u want it one solid.color just paint? Do you use acrylic or latex paint
I measured the wood, about 14 inches, and knew my mat could only cut up to 12 inches - so I just made it as big as I could! My best advice is to always measure what you’re putting the vinyl on and then use the measurements in the design space! Hope this helps. ☺️
Did you put a clear coal over everything? If so how is it holding up? I’ve made mine and put vinyl but I’m trying to sell it and I’m trying to make sure
This video really is so inspirational. I actually looked into the materials to start doing this after I watched last time. Im artistic but not in a crafty way. It'd be better for me to buy in this case. Do you sell them?
@@jessicajeneice Wonder why you were having trouble with it sticking. I to am new to the whole Cricut Craft. To bad there isn’t a Poly that can be put over the whole thing after the Vinyl is out on to assure it won’t come off. 😊
Love this! Do you think regular non-spray mod podge will work? I tried sealing my wood and vinyl design with rustoleum spray top coat and it made my vinyl curl up 😫
Yes! I have two! First, painters tape can be great to use as a guide, but even better yet, I bought myself a mini level from the hardware store and its been GREAT! 🤩
I don't know the exact tape but any painters tape I could find has worked great! I love the Waverly paint that I get at Walmart. They have so many different colors and finishes! 😍 I particularly love their chalk paint! The transfer tape I use is from Amazon and it's called "Kassa Vinyle Transfer Tape Roll" and it's 12 in. by 12 feet. 🥰
For this specific sign, I didn't attach a hanger (customer didn't need it), but when I do, I cut a piece of twine or jute cord to size, knot the ends and staple them to the back. Then I use hot glue to cover the knots and staples for extra security. Hope this helps! ☺️
Can you please provide the product information for the 17 3/4 in. wood round from Home Depot for $6 that you are referencing? I’ve searched and searched for it and cannot find it. Is there a certain way that it’s listed or a barcode? I am struggling! I sincerely appreciate any help! ♥️

I was gonna say the same thing Pops! 🤝
Nice Work Jessica! 😊
Thanks for the tutorial, new sub here. I recommend using polyacrylic to seal the stain before putting the vinyl on - it helps the vinyl stick.
Thank you!! 🤩 love the helpful tips 🖤
Aimee, do you also polyacrylic over the vinyl? Say for a lazy susan round?
No Sew Crafts only if the item would be outdoors. Typically I don’t seal the vinyl for indoors.
I plan on making a sign for my baby with her name. Can you use the poly acrylic to seal over the vinyl as well?
This is the first video I could actually follow. Thank you. Just added you on TikToc.
Thank you 😍 you’re so sweet!
Love the video. It would be very useful if you put the materials used on the description, like, what type of vinyl did you use, where did you got the wood, etc

This is very pretty. The spray you used to seal , does it yellow? Thank you in advance

That is usually what I do!
Love this video Jess! I might have to try this for my girls!
I hope you do!! Have fun 🥰
love this video.

Hi, on your description box you did not state about the paint color and where did you purchase it. Can you please help me because I did love the color
Loved this! Can’t wait to get a cricut 😊
Yay! Thank you for watching ☺️
Adorable!!!!! 😍
Thank you!! :)

This is so gorgeous! Thanks for sharing! New subscriber here! 👍😊
Thanks so much ☺️❤️
Do you have a page book page? Thanks for making it so easy to understand
I don’t have a page but I’m in TikTok and Insta as @craftedby_jess 🥰 I have more Cricut videos to come!
🙌🏼 ahh yes I love this 🧡
Thanks girl ☺️
Hi loved the video. What font did you use?
Thank you! Font is Moontime from Canva.com ☺️
Love it !
What paint did you use to paint the bottom ?
Chalk paint :) it’s the brand Waverly at Walmart ☺️
Very nice ❤
Thank you, friend!
Could this be done with a cricut joy?
I’m honestly not sure! I don’t have a Cricut joy. :)
Is the paint you use an acrylic paint? Is the Mod Lodge spray a good sealant for outdoors? Thank you for your time.
Yes and yes 🥰
I’m very new to the cricut world and my first project is to make this signs! Loved your tutorial! Can I ask what font and size you used?
How exciting! :) it’s called Moontime and it’s from Canva.com ☺️
And the size was 11.5 inches across
If I have an 14.02x14.02x0.23 circle wood sign how big should I print the welcome words out on cricut
Beautiful...what size for wood?
Diameter is 17 3/4 😊
For a newbie, How do you figure out what size the words are you print?
I measured the wood, about 14 inches, and knew my mat could only cut up to 12 inches - so I just made it as big as I could! My best advice is to always measure what you’re putting the vinyl on and then use the measurements in the design space! Hope this helps. ☺️
Did you put a clear coal over everything? If so how is it holding up? I’ve made mine and put vinyl but I’m trying to sell it and I’m trying to make sure
Yes, I did! 2-3 thin layers of mod podge. It’s still holding up perfectly. ☺️❤️ hope that helps!
What size did you make the Welcome decal?
12 inches 😊
This video really is so inspirational. I actually looked into the materials to start doing this after I watched last time. Im artistic but not in a crafty way. It'd be better for me to buy in this case. Do you sell them?
I do, but unfortunately only locally. Shipping is super expensive for these signs! 😬
@@jessicajeneice how much is shipping if you don’t mind me asking?
I love how this welcome sign turned out! What type of vinyl was used? I am new to this and would love to know.
Just plain white permanent vinyl. :)

How did you attach the twine on the back for hanging
i knot the ends and staple it to the back! Sometimes i add hot glue as extra reinforcement :)
Where do you buy your wooden rounds?
Home Depot! ☺️

Hey I love your board, I’m having a hard time making my lines straight and putting my decal on straight, any tips ?
Yes! I have two! First, painters tape can be great to use as a guide, but even better yet, I bought myself a mini level from the hardware store and its been GREAT! 🤩
Crafted By Jess omg why didn’t think of that
This was a very helpful video. What kind of tape do you use. What paint do you recommend. Do you use Oracle 631, and what transfer paper.
I don't know the exact tape but any painters tape I could find has worked great! I love the Waverly paint that I get at Walmart. They have so many different colors and finishes! 😍 I particularly love their chalk paint! What font did you use?
Moontime from Canva.com! Canva is my favorite for finding fonts. :)
For the font, is that in the cricut design space or did you use a different program?
I used Canva :) I design it there, save as an image, and then upload to Cricut 😊
How do you make a round boarder in cricut
Im not sure exactly what you mean. Sometimes i add a circle shape to keep everything in the boarder. Does that answer your question? :)
How do you hang the sign?
For this specific sign, I didn't attach a hanger (customer didn't need it), but when I do, I cut a piece of twine or jute cord to size, knot the ends and staple them to the back. Then I use hot glue to cover the knots and staples for extra security. Hope this helps! ☺️
What size was your wooden dial?
a little over 12 inches - I believe 12.25 ☺️
Where did you get your board?
Home Depot ☺️
Love this!! What font did you use?
Moontime from Canva 😍
I’m thinking of doing this on a wooden box for the bathroom. Have you had any issues with the letters peeling off in a “moist” environment?
Angela Bays no I haven’t :) I’m sure mod podge is all you’ll need 😊
what font did you use for the Welcome?
Moontime from Canva 🤗
What inch circle round was that

I cannot find it anymore either!! They have been sold out for a while ☹️
Why do you use. Modpodge
Just a personal preference :)

Moontime from Canva. ☺️
I wish someone would actually explain how to use the cricut and the websites etc on these videos 😢
