My place of employment is reinstating mask mandates. I've been very upset, as it's based on recommendations from a clearly confused and politically motivated CDC. I was feeling like my rights were being tread on and feeling mistreated. This video from 5 years ago served to remind me that I'm not picked on and can endure the minor inconveniences set upon me for political reasons. My attitude and approach to this as a Christian will be noticed. I don't agree with this decision as I don't think it's based on scientific data or truth. But it's important to keep perspective and react properly. It also reminded me that I can look for another job. Thanks Mike, from half a decade ago!

I was feeling the same as you said ^ and the work environment has become toxic because of it....at least in my eyes. I hope I can reset my thinking with the lense of the Word. Thank God for Pastor Mike's teachings and thank God for a platform where we can watch these videos many years later.

I would think that in such a circumstance we would be called to obey, as your employer is not asking you to sin, such as lie or something similar. As such, it's still commendable that you submit, though you don't agree with your employer.

Amen. Thank you for this message Mike. As of right now I am having some issues. And I find it’s very easy to try and justify myself and look at the other person as they are wrong. But even if they are wrong, I want to respond in a way that would honor Jesus and not my flesh. I fail a lot at this. But when I think about all the wickedness the Lord forgave me for and washed me of, all I can say is God puts everything into perspective. And I believe that’s what we are called to do. And God doesn’t say anything about it being easy. But through Him it is possible. And what you mentioned about shifting the perspective of who are you working for or the motive you do things, was right on. Do everything as unto the Lord Jesus Christ. So no matter what Job we have or problems in our marriage we may have, we may not understand it, but honor God in it.

    I’ll give my perspective.
I work for a company who actively destroy lives. I sell mobile homes and I’ve sold multiple units that effectively were not habitable by the time of delivery, and the factories making them basically denied full responsibility.
I agree that we should do all as in service to the Lord. I do not agree that going to jobs that participate in the opposite of God’s reaching can be labeled as working for “harsh” masters. If you contribute to a company, and that company produces evil, you are working for the enemy.

I've been living abroad for over 9 years now and will be returning to the U.S. in about 10 weeks. I've been working independently here, but will be reentering the work force there. I have concerns that, in a business environment, I will be asked to lie or otherwise deceive. Thanks for the encouragement and being used by God to remind me that if/when I am asked to do so and respectfully refuse, He will have my back.

My job is soooo boring. I've been there six years and I've morphed into the inevitably-lazier union employee than when I started. I try to doze off as much as possible. The machine runs itself unless it doesn't, when it's a lot of work. My employer likes me and leaves me alone but I'm pretty sure they don't want me sleeping on the job. There aren't a lot of 'what-ifs' that could happen while the thing is running, as any deviation in the machine becomes pretty obvious and loud. We're just supposed to sit there and stare into space or catch up on paperwork. I ran out of stuff to day dream about years ago. Most employees surf the web or play with their phones. I go into rest mode and try to get some shut eye.

In my opinion, you should be grateful that you are employed
since many people are out of
      work because of the COVID-19
If you do have a lot of downtime,
      maybe instead of sleeping, find
      usage in learning more about
      your company, or use spare
      time to read the word

If your boss constantly belittles you, alienates you, exploits you to the point where he has said without saying he has no respect for you, and even demonizes you and he himself is a Christian, what is the right thing to do?

If you're looking for it, I watched it earlier this week. You can find it by going to his channel and clicking on the Videos tab. Scroll almost all the way down, and it's there right before this video.
Otherwise, you can search Mike Winger Slavery, and it should come up.
Hope you find it. It's a really good message. 💕

David prayed imprecatory prayers calling God to break out their teeth; shoot them in the face with an arrow; and smite their children, so their are multiple examples of David killing and asking God to reign violence on his enemies and we see David withholding his hand from Saul. Saul was anointed by God through a prophet. His head was anointed with oil just as God instructed. God commanded not to speak evil of the Lord's anointed or touch the Lord's anointed, so David was obeying a specific command from God. Paul, also, was being abused by the High Priest and spoke harshly without knowing he was the high priest and Paul repented because it's a command from God ... not because the oppressor is just some authority. God did not say don't speak evil of or touch any authority over you... it applied only to those anointed with oil by God appointed authority which was usually a prophet. So, David's example doesn't apply to us today since we don't have any authorities anointed by God.... we don't have any modern day prophets like in the OT. I believe there is a time to not submit and that's when they lose their authority through sinful actions. But I agree with Mike that we should do everything as to the Lord and we should happily work and serve our bosses, but if your boss is a bad one then there is nothing wrong with finding a new job. You don't have to stay there.
