My Sweetwater wishlist just got so much bigger!
I went to Sweetwater once in 2015 and didn't fully understand just how much gear there is in that building. I just hopped in, grabbed a few sticks, went down the slide, twisted some knobs and then left. Only to hear about it later that the entire warehouse is in that building.
It's so awesome to get to see everything that goes on in that place!

What is interest to me as an old guy who was recording 2nd engineer back in the 70's is we didn't have instruments in the studio other than pianos. Back then musicians brought their own gear and when necessary gear was rented for the sessions. That's why then a guitarist would have one or two huge studio trunks delivered by their cartage service. Even as to studio outboard gear we have a small selection and rented gear as requested. Back then it was all about use what's available apply lots of creativity both as a musician and producer or engineer. Quite a different world and hate to think about what the investment is now to assembly a commercial studio.
Worth to consider whether this unlimited arsenal has any point if I listened to Gilberto, Davis, MJQ, Pleasure, Steely Dan, EWF, Tower of Power, and the rest of the amazing music from the '60s and '70s. I mean that sound is insane and gone by now. Something was lost over time. Inspiration, knowledge?
A commercial studio in the ballpark of this one has to be no less than $1 million to even start the process

Great tour - it does beg the question - how much gear is too much? I wonder whether having 2 of everything results in decision paralysis for clients as often as it inspires folk.. I guess that’s the role of the studio team to help people find the magic piece of gear for them..

Andrew, this is an amazing tour, I live in ft Wayne and took the tour back in 2015 but they have really change so much since then I guess I should check it out in the next week or so anyway always a great job and great content Thanks!!!

love the vids been binge watching your content lots and its sooo nice the only tiny problem/downside is the frame rate being 30/24fps at 1:24 the camera sweep is jittery and id prefer the videos only being 1440 instead of 4k but 60 fps other than that they're perfect

Quite annoying this guy, so uninspired, not showing any love, doesn’t look happy at all. I couldn't play one note with him around on a recording session, no matter the huge amount gear, much more than you need to make good music anyway.
I agree. He talks like a geek. Throws out a lot of terms and numbers. Listen to the the way Bob Clearmountain speaks. Down to earth and he’s done a ton of records. This guy ain’t done one record.
