    A lot of you are saying that Sony Official Statement says that IT IS HDMI 2.1, also some referring to Digital Foundry has said that it is HDMI 2.1 because it can do 4K 120Hz. right? I will give you an idea before you become KeyBoard Warrior and tell me to stop making videos, just do a google search you will find out that HDMI 2.0 can do 4K upto 120fps, even if you have a PS4 cable try that and you will see that will be able to do 4K 120hz on PlayStation 5, enough proof? no right? because Digital Foundry has said it is HDMI 2.1? OK let's just google the serial number and manufacturer of the the cable on Google and you will find out that this cable has been sold with some PS4 Model with the same serial number :) still not enough right? here you go , this is the serial number do some research yourself I can't argue enough will people without any research and all they have to say it that Sony Can name it whatever they want, even one viewer said they can name HDMI cable "Banana" if they wish to. HIGH SPEED HDMI CABLE is HDMI 2.0, ULTRA HIGH SPEED HDMI CABLE is HDMI 2.1 with full 48GBPS bandwidth. Cable comes with Xbox Series X has label on it that specifically says "ULTRA HIGH SPEED HDMI" that is real HDMI 2.1 with 48gbps. I have nothing against sony, I am actually using Sony Personally this year for my console, but what's wrong is wrong.
    Now try your PS4 cable with your PS5 and see that cable will also work, now tell yourself that PS4 cable was also HDMI 2.1 ? no.
    It can do 4K upto 120fps doesnt mean it is HDMI 2.1 period. I rest my case here, yelling, calling me stupid, or whatever will not change facts.
    PS5 High Speed HDMI Cable Serial Number: E321011 AWM 20276 made by LUXSHARE - ICT.
    Thank you all for your love and support.

    Hdmi cables are all essentially the same. The difference is mainly build quality. The chipset on the hardware is what matters. So the monitor/tv and console need the the hdmi 2.1 chipset. Cables vary on build quality. A good hdmi 2.0 cable will most likely run well

  • @tilsixnthemorning
    @tilsixnthemorning 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I’m about to blow your mind, you don’t need a 4K tv to play the PS5 first of all. If you already have a 4k tv that’s fine but you don’t need a 4K tv in the same way you don’t need a 2.1 HDMI cable to enjoy the ps5. The PS5 unlike the Xbox does not focus its platform on refresh frame rate instead its strong suit is in VRR/HDR which you can get in both 4K TVs and non 4K TVs. Do your research, the games for both ps5 and Xbox are already in 4K and if you’re knowledgeable about CB/CR and how they interact with scaling you would realize that the 4K content will still look great even on just on a 1080p tv. Does the overall game looks a little better on a 4K tv sure but remember 98% of game content for the ps5 will not be 120 hz so you won’t need it you’ll notice that 4K @60 hz will be the vast majority of the games so please stop freaking out about reaching 120hz the majority of the games won’t get to that level any time soon anyway. If you’re a long time PlayStation user you’ll know Sony prioritize HDR and VRR and not frame rates, the smooth, fast and overall look of PlayStation games content utilizes the HDR/VRR just to repeat myself once again, if you want more details on that please look it up. Happy gaming.

      He doesn't realize the PS5 UI is only 4k 60hz 😅 but games can do 120hz with the cable but that PS4 cable nope.

  • @Odank
    @Odank 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    So the assessment here is a bit faulty and here’s why. An HDMI 2.0 cable (18gb) will let you do 4K @ 60hz RGB 8 bit. It will not pass through 4K @ 120hz even at 422 as that will exceed bandwidth. The “information for connected Hdmi device” area is getting metadata from the TV and what it’s capabilities are - not what you can use through the cable. Your refresh rate is set there at 60hz - so that is no problem for hdmi 2.0. I would doubt you can enable 4K 120hz through that PS4 cable...

    • @MyGadgetsWorld
      @MyGadgetsWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How about 4K 4:2:0 YUV 120hz 8Bit. It can be done via 2.0b

    • @Odank
      @Odank 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      MyGadgetsWorld You’d have to see how many Gb/s that combination takes up and if it fall within the 18Gb spec - which I believe it does. You have to force 420 subsampling @ 8 bit and not have HDR. 420 is taking out a lot of color information so unless you just want the 120hz without the best picture quality then this is an option. The point is that at the vastly more common 60fps there is no difference apart from the extra features that 2.1 provides (VRR, ALM, etc). Also, even if a target game is set for 60fps, it is beneficial (in theory) to set the device up for a 120hz refresh (with a compatible display of course) since this will further reduce input lag even on a 60fps limit. The only way to know if the PS 5 cable is NOT 2.1 compliant is doing a 4K 120hz 422 or better signal. If it can display that - it’s a 2.1 cable.

    lol, i bought my PS5 brand new 08/21/23. never had a TV that could do 120Hz so i never noticed anything. two days ago, i bought a Sony Bravia X85K and after i setup my PS5 to it and was super stoked to see the difference.... yeah, there was none. Sony DOES 100% send HDMI 2.0 cables. Luckily, I contacted PS and they sent me a 'PlayStation 5 Ultra High Speed HDMI' free of charge, should be delivered tomorrow. But goddamn... why would you send HDMI 2.0 cables with your flagship next-gen console? That's insane. Maybe others got lucky, but like you, I was not one od the lucky ones. 🙃 I'll always love Sony over Xbox, but it just baffles me how of all companies, Sony could do this. Silly people. Figured it out. It states RGB under HDR. This is 4:4:4. But it states that it only supports 4:2:2 for 4K 120 10 bit HDR. The cable is def 2.1. The issue is the PlayStation. I believe it likely caps the colour space at 120 for a more stable connection, as seen in their XH90 TV’s

    • @MyGadgetsWorld
      @MyGadgetsWorld  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes that is why they provided a High Speed HDMI Cable which is not 48gbps, 4:2:2 8 bit HDR, it doesn't even push to do 4:2:2:10 bit HDR. yes there is a thing 4:2:2 8 bit HDR which is inferior HDR, and does not require a very high bandwidth cable. well I am in the process of collecting more facts about it, so far I was able to play 4K 120hz using PS4 Pro cable (Identical to the model number on new PS5 cable) and was able to get same results.

    • @jamiestevens9615
      @jamiestevens9615 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MyGadgetsWorld it’s definitely a 2.1 rated cable as I’ve tested this on my 3080 and it’s displays PC RGB at 10 bit. You need to run a game with the PS4 pro cable and when it is running go back into settings. I believe the cable is simply displaying what the TV is capable of and will black screen if 4K 120 is forced. That or it is downsampling when you start a game to 8 bit. Again, this is why you need to go back into display settings when a game is running. Ps the LG CX video settings video is great. But the CX runs ‘standard’ RGB by default. To unlock PC RGB you need to put the console in PC mode. This unlocks RGB to a deeper range of colour

      The cable can bottleneck your graphics quality. You need a ultra high speed cable to handle high data transfer.

    • @ryans413
      @ryans413 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All you need to look for in the cable is that it says high speed that means the cable can support all resolutions from 480P to 4K 120fps

      It remained same. Since both cables are same. Both cables are high speed hdmi cables , funny thing is ps5 cable has same serial number as some ps4 pro cables.

      Yes if you want 120fps gaming that isnt downgraded to 1080p because the PS5 doesnt support 1440p.

      @@Lump_Hammer73 when ps4 came out I don’t know why I didn’t get it til 2017 ps4 pro released and I had no idea so I bought the pro. Ps5 is on another level IMO ...ps4 pro can’t output native 4K it’s between 1080p - 1440p with upscaling. Ps5 can play native 4K60-120fps not to mention SSD power over HDD and HDMI 2.1 over 2.0 and so many goods. So my point is you’ll love the ps5 no matter what

    I totally agree with you there because if Sony are saying that it’s a high speed 48Gbps 2.1 hdmi cable when it’s not it’s only a a hdmi 2.0b cable that comes with the PlayStation 5 it’s definitely false representation and definitely FALSE ADVERTISING people could sue Sony for that cause your not getting the hdmi Cable in the box what they are saying it is but I use a high speed Akord v2.1 hdmi 120hrz cable on my PlayStation 5 and they are absolutely perfect for gaming

    Probably a dumb question, but will a good ultra high speed 2.1 cable have any benefits on a tv that only supports 2.0. I have the Sony a8h and just used a random 2.0 cable that was laying around, so idk if getting a good 2.1 cable will have any added benefits for the overall experience, or should I just get a more premium 2.0 cable?
