The mode shapes along the path are interesting - but there are several points I would make. You are plotting magnitude, not value so each mode shape is distorted as all values are absolute. If you chose ux, or uy (whichever is the appropriate normal surface direction) it would be much more relatable.
I would always emphasize to viewers that these modes are independent, they are not showing any kind of progressive collapse. Similarly the 'values' of the deflections are arbitrary as they are eigen vectors. That is often a source of misunderstanding and it's always worth emphasizing. I apologize if you made these points but I missed them!
It is very neat functionality in abaqus - I am envious. It would be great to see this method for a nonlinear buckling progression.
I really like your videos. I have done a bit of RVE work and this was very interesting. I also really like your experiments with necking trigger with FEA. I have tried many times to tell clients that with no flaw and no material softening it just wont happen - and it's not a software bug!!
    Looking forward to more!

I really like your good comments TonyABbeyFETraining. I agree with all of them.
I know the message about modes are incomplete. I just put something together quickly for illustration and it could be better. I did not make any effort to justify the predictions with analytical values (especially for simple pillar models). If that was done, then it could be a first step to justify/verify the solution before attempting a complex system as a thin-walled cylinder (in 3D).
Thanks for all the insights you gave. I will look at them more.
As regards triggering necking, you are right. I really like that video but it does not seem to draw a lot of audience to it since the points made in it is a bit nuanced. I am happy that there another nerd in my community like me in these things.
Thank you and of course I will check out your channel.

If it is not clear from my video, I suggest you google how to do it and there may be more guide on the ABAQUS documentation. It is difficult to offer support on this comments section. Good luck with the work.

I am modeling a double twisted wire mesh section using ABAQUS for impact test is there any way you can help me?

I am not sure I am able to help with this question but you can contact me via the About us section of this channel and we can take it from there.
