I lived with Major in Philadelphia from 2000-2002. I did his hair, sold his cds at his show. I met so many artists through Major. He truly enjoyed performing and meeting people. He was & always will be the "Love Man"!!! Maybe I should write a memoir on those 2 great years...💖💖🌹🌹💖💖
RIP to the late great Major Harris! He passed away on November 9,2012 from congestive heart and lung failure in Richmond,Virginia. He was known for the hit Love Won't Let Me Wait and sang in many groups like the Delfonics,The Charmers,Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers,The Jarmels, and Nat Turner's Rebellion. He was a vocalist and a guitar player. We will miss you! My mom told me she got to see him in concert when he opened for the Ohio Players in the 70s!
Everytime I listened to this song I got into trouble, especially when my mom heard the woman moaning, lol.... This was the shizznick back in the day, still is today...
How reactionary our parents were. If only they had taken time to reason with us rather than just reacting to a perceived wrong on our part. Adults were always inducing guilt and curiousity in their effort to prevent our unstoppable growth...
Love Won't Let Me Wait by Major Harris was such a lovely song and he was such a fine artist! So sad to know he expired in 2012, but that song will live on for many to enjoy. He was also great with the Delfonics, who I saw perform in Wilmington, Delaware back in the late 70s. Miss that talent so much! RIP Mr. Harris
At 2:05 you can see he's already taken them home, and he's only half way through the song. I've only ever heard two versions of this song. This one and one by Uncle Luther Vandross. Legends in their time
Yes, the passing of Major is indeed a loss to is all who enjoy and respect the true artistry of a gifted individual. His work with The Defomics and as a solo artist will not be duplicated in our lifetime. Thank you Mr. Harris for your contribution and to the perfection of your craft.
IDK probably his music is so beautiful and he has that soulful romantically style of singing it just traumatized you it takes you to another world of love
Thank U 4 putting this up. What an exquisite song, performed so beautifully. I just learned Major Harris had died this year(-. We lost a real treasure. That's great. This song was on the airwaves in my time and had such meaning. Still does. Thanks
The time is right
You hold me tight
And love is got me high
Please tell me, yes
And don't say no, honey not tonight
I need to have you next to me
In more ways than one
And I refuse to leave
Till I see the morning sun
Creep through your window pane
'Cause love won't let me wait
Not one more minute, baby
The time is right
Turned down the lights and take my hand
We will take a flight
And spend the night in a wonderland
Now move a little close to me
You owe it to yourself
And I will selfishly
Take a little for myself
And it's because of you
That love won't let me wait
No, listen girl
I need your love so desperately
And only you can set me free
When I make love to you
We will explode in ecstasy
And I won't take the blame
That love won't let me wait, no
Love won't let me wait
My temperature's rising
'Cause your so tantalizing
Oh, listen girl
Love won't let me wait
