It is quite impressive. For such an affordable calculator, it feels like it's half-way to being a graphing calc. I was not expecting it to be able to do integrals and summation series when I first got it.
I loveeee this calculator soo much. Been using it for 2 years and had no problems. One feature that I liked is the stats feature where you can input data into a frequency table and the calculator will calculate mean, interquartile range, standard deviation, q1, Q3, median, variance, etc of the data. Because standard deviation is a long process by hand, mistakes happen regularly, so it serves as an easy check!!! love this calculator, I recommend it to everyone at my school!!! great video man!! 😀😀
Due to a change in CA education law the community colleges are no longer allowed to offer remedial courses. So now the campuses have to disguise remediation as "corequisites" or support classes in order to get their funding from the Cheap California state legislature. AB 705 is a disaster for anyone that graduated high school more than 5 yrs ago or non traditional students or student parents or disabled students or visual/performing arts majors. My professors are too lazy to instruct their students on how to actually use a scientific or graphing calculator. My Intermediate Algebra class just had 50% of it's Students fail completely, this semester, because our professor wouldn't show us how to use a scientific calculator.🙄 You are awesome!!!!!!! Thank you🎁
I've had the fx-115ES since I was in early grade school and I had it from the beginning of pre-algebra. I just recently figured out that it can solve systems of equations with up to three variables, _after_ going through college taking Calculus 1-3, Differential equations, and Physics w/calculus. I recently upgraded to the plus cause its cheap and there are some qol improvements and faster compute times, but otherwise its a very similar calculator.
This is an awesome calculator. I use it every day with mathematics, and it helps save a tremendous amount of time when trying to complete a problem. Especially when you move into higher level mathematics. It can do many of the same functions as a graphing calculator, but it looks like a scientific calculator and most people, including instructors, may think so as well ;).
Just an epiphany moment for me... at around 14 min when using the calculator to factor, the problem was x^2+2x-15=0. The answer was x= 3 and -5. For class, you write the solution as (x+3)(x-5). I am not sure why it took me forever to figure that out, but thank you for your videos- they have been helpful to me and I'm happy to finally be able to understand how to solve these equations using my calculator.
I experimented with many ways to arrive at your answer because in degree mode it wasn't working (I have the exact same calculator and love it). What I found is that I ended up having to use the regular parentheses instead of the negative parentheses. I got the answer when manually using the regualr patentheses and inputting the -2. I don't know why it wouldn't work with the - parentheses, but all the same, it was just one - to put...thank you. I was in degree mode. I don't know if it matters what mode, because I tried a few modes and got the same mistake with the negative parenthesis. :)
yooo I had a Texas instruments calculator for over 13 years and still going strong. but today I went to Target and bought this calculator for a upgrade. Casio fx-115es plus. and I'm eager to learn the key functions on my new calculator so I can get to converting quicker. because statistics is literally: no joke!
The main weakness of Casio calculators is it doesn't allow power down memory storage. Turning off your calculator means losing any date to put in. HP, TI, and Sharp all have power down memory protection.
Yes; we used to call that, "continuous memory." hp and I think also TI, have had that since the 1970's. For the hp's, the model name would end in "C." 25C, 41C, etc. After a while, they dropped the "C" b/c all their models had continuous memory. Useless trivium: "hp" inverted is (almost) "dy".
I used this calculator and its predecessor, non ES-plus for all of school. I should have played with more of the settings. But I often favored it over my TI grapher cause I rarely needed a graph when this had full math type
The Casio 991 EX CLASSWIZ is the next step up at $1.50 more. Higher res screen, 4 unknowns, 4th degree equations and 4x4 matrices, plus a spreadsheet. One important thing is the 115 ES takes 8/2(3+2) and gives 8/10 as the answer which is considered wrong by a lot of people. The 991 EX inserts parentheses [ 8/(2(3+2))] when you hit the equals key so everyone will agree that 8/10 is correct. If you type 8/2x(3+2), you will get 20 for an answer. Casios way is better for us using multiple radicals like 2(square root sign)7 or 4(square root sign)5.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IM SO HAPPY MY EXAM IS AFTER A FEW HOURS AND I FOUND THIS VIDEO THANK YOU
no everyone, sharp "writeview el-w535X" is better than casio because it has 230 or something functions but sharp has 530 or something functions. Also this calculator can stays long but casio can't stay's long because the system might won't work. Sharp calculators can use for long and for future higher studies.
two reasons 1) it´s cheap 2) it get´s the job done. i love this thing it´s a butt saver since my last three years in school. so kinda cool to see my old "friend" getting appraised by a professional mathematician
@ki kus Nah. The first commenter implied that handheld calculators aren't useful. He probably just spends most of his time with computers so its obviously easier for him to use a program like WFA. Personally I find handheld calculators are just as useful (faster, better notation, etc.) but I'm still in high school so yeah
Could you tell me a good easy to learn calculator for C2 A level? This stuff I can do on my own or with my bog standard calculator. I have my C2 exam in 4 days and I want a calculator I can learn to use by then. Thank youuu
Always used TI scientific in high school and in college TI89. Going to try this one out over the ti 36x pro. Anyone have any input with selecting between the two?
3lectronic0, I really like the TI 36x Pro. It has a ton of features, more than the Casio. It is more expensive. It will do a 3x3 matrix and give you a table of points for functions. It will do the fundamental theorem of calculus, and derivatives at a point. This calculator also has math print which was helpful for me.
Most functional solar calculator you can get...fx-991es plus c is exactly the same... UPDATE: The update to this one is the fx-991ES PLUS C 2nd edition, is an improvement over the 1st one. Still the best.
Lol. That is really bad, math is not about calculating stuff. It’s about reasoning. It would be the same as to say that the main task of a writer is to write nice letters.

fx-991ES PLUS is released in 2009, while fx-115ES PLUS is released in 2012 (therefore it has more functions). Both of us are international ES PLUS models.

in all cases you should put a * before the parentheses to get the right result. 60/5*(7-5) = . . 60/5(7-5) = gets changed to 60/(5(7-5) )= in my display while the version wth the multiplication sign stays that way (fx-991de x)
No it does not, it gives the right answer or that calculator (4.28....). If you look at the pages 65 and 66 on the manual you'll see that it explicitly says that multiplication with or without sign has same precedence as division and are done on left to right. brilliant video, Thanks
The problem is that I have Thermodynamics course and some equations are in 5 or 6 or even 7 degree! what calculator is useful for it?
Thank you.
I have the standard fx-115ES, and systems of equations that have either no solution or infinite solutions will result in a Math Error.
Can this calculator 'calculate the length' of a parabola curve from it's given equation?
where can i purchase this calc😭🙏

Hey guys my calci's Fx-991es plus whose display is broken ...
Plz tell me what can I do..?
What graphing calculator would you recommend for Applied Statistics and pre calculus? Affordable!
thank you
I find the function 14:29 is not available for my fx991ES PLUS :( Is this normal ?
Yes. The 991 series is generally less functional than the 115 series, as far as I can tell.
The fx-991es plus c has it....identical calculator to the fx-115 plus
fx-991ES PLUS is released in 2009, while fx-115ES PLUS is released in 2012. Both of them are international ES PLUS models
How to use the purple and green markings???
I don't bother with handheld calculators anymore.
I use R and Wolfram Alpha.
Z-Statistic WFA for the win!
Z-Statistic I use its app on the phone too

Could you tell me a good easy to learn calculator for C2 A level? This stuff I can do on my own or with my bog standard calculator. I have my C2 exam in 4 days and I want a calculator I can learn to use by then. Thank youuu
There is a way to find the area of a closed traverse using the double meridian distance method . Does anyone know how?
If I'm correct, this is the same as the fx 991es plus, right?
Laynus Socas Torres yes. And the 991 is actually newer
no, the fx 115es plus is the same as a fx 991es plus c........and the fx 115es is the same as a fx 991es plus
ill keep on my old but lovely Casio fx-9860GII...
Same.. Many times more powerful with many more functions!

is this better or the 2nd edition?
Can I buy this model, I mean, fx-115es plus/fx-991es plus c in Bangladesh
What was the best Casio by now ?
Hey Pen, thanks for the video, during the square root section, how do you get your calculator to show the answer as roots and not just decimals
Use the SD button to display in math notation
at 14:28 it shows minimum point but mine only shows solutions and i cant scroll down to show minimum point
are you sure you have fx 115ES plus and not 991ES plus ?
Sir mere calculator me infinite nhi deta h equation me math error likhata h
Always used TI scientific in high school and in college TI89. Going to try this one out over the ti 36x pro. Anyone have any input with selecting between the two?
I have same calculator but it's not showing the Minimum value for Quadratic Equation. Anyone, Any Idea, Why ?
Is there any mobile calculator apps that can do the same or more of this calculator's abilities?
Does anyone know what the difference is between the Fx-115 and the Fx-991?
Subscribed 🤗👌👍
linear inequalities, can the Casio do this?
What degree mode should or can you be in?
I want it to have “HKEAA Approved” on the calculator😂
Oh my goodness so true.
im pretty sure it is, on the hkeaa website it lists casio 115... and a bunch of random letters so im not sure if it is or isnt
Sir how to defined differentiation and integration where limit do not given
Please finish up the last problem. Thank you.
How do you rationalize the denominator on this??? I keep getting a long decimal and cant switch to fraction form
I believe it's Shift > Mode > 1 > 1
Which is the best between Casio FX 991 ex and Casio 115 es?
115ES PLUS
Hi, Texas Instruments ti 36x pro or this one?
I am not familiar with the 36x pro. Sorry.
3lectronic0 this one for sure. Ti and Hp have nothing close to this useful.
try this: th-cam.com/video/8RYmCBZTKmk/w-d-xo.html

UPDATE: The update to this one is the fx-991ES PLUS C 2nd edition, is an improvement over the 1st one. Still the best.
thank you very much brother
You're welcome
Also does integrals and derivates :)
Can someone pls pls tell me why when I multiply the numbers become fraction I want it normal
Only in my uni, calculators aren't allowed for math, & even in some exams involving math (Physics, Engineering), at most we can use fx82
#bringbackthecalculators
Lol.
That is really bad, math is not about calculating stuff.
It’s about reasoning.

Get the Casio CLASSWIZ instead. It is a newer and improved version of the 115ES+.

that looks super sick, gotta get one now.
and for the price its great! really shining right now in calc3

Mos Rus does it do graphing?
You get a thumbs up for having a Steph Curry jersey!
You get a thumbs up too for giving me one first! Thank you loll
Thumbs up
Casios are good. I want a programmable one : D
For only certain things on that calculator but it's no match for the ti36x pro
I got fx-85ES PLUS. Completely the same. See no difference.? exept color
fx-85ES PLUS is equal to fx-82ES PLUS. The only difference is the power
this looks like the fx-99, and does basically everything the 99 does. so why this one?
This vs 991EX why is the CLASSWIZ better?
well its quite similar to fx-991ES plus
They are essentially the same calculator, though, if i remember correctly, the 115 is essentially a US version, while the 991 is a European version.
The identical model is the fx-991es plus c version...
fx 991 es is also in asia.
i randomly bought one on a holiday. why am i so late!?
fx-991ES PLUS is released in 2009, while fx-115ES PLUS is released in 2012 (therefore it has more functions). Both of us are international ES PLUS models.
Liked
I bought one
the use of the equals sign to input values is stolen from the HP
which would you choose this one or the Casio FX-991EX?
Since when do u grew a beard mr c?
Mero pe minima and Maxima value nhi deta h
0/4=0, 4/0=undefined i do it in my B R A I N! I don't need it hahaha
this calculator maybe smart but remember your working against time in an exam.. i found the answer for the quadratic in less that 10 sec.
he didn't even get to the good part, the complex equations, the arbitrary base logs, the polar coordinates and CIS notation, the equation solver, the numeric integration and differentiation comma the series solver, this easily takes you all the way through pre calculus and into calculus

8.54E+11 =PI^(2*3*4) CASIO SAME AS EXCEL
Equation: 60/5(7-5) =? . Casio 115ES gives wrong answer.
in all cases you should put a * before the parentheses to get the right result. 60/5*(7-5) = .
.
60/5(7-5) = gets changed to 60/(5(7-5) )= in my display while the version wth the multiplication sign stays that way (fx-991de x)
