- Passing the Sabangan Cervantes Tagudin Road / Bessang Pass Ilocos Sur. The video starts from Aluling Bridge Cervantes going up to Bessang Pass passing Suyo and ending in Tagudin towards the national road. One of my dream drives finally completed! Unfortunately the fog was heavy due to the weather so those beautiful views were not seen much. The roads are narrow there are many curves. There was no gas station along the way so better fuel up before passing here. The road looks like great wall of China from a distance due to the concrete guard barriers. The roads here were surprisingly good. Driving under the foggy weather was chilly and fun too. Open headlights for safety.
As of documentation:
Road Condition -Good roads but there are some portions with deterioration but still majority were good roads.
Drive thrill - Narrow roads with winding curves. Beautiful ravine scenery when not foggy. When foggy you feel like you are in a adventure movie. Falling rocks caution.
Security - There are houses along the road and tourist spots. Bessang pass is a national park. Busy town along Cervantes did not saw any gas station like Petron.

Bessang Pass a memmorial place...for Gen Yamashita(was captured)......another passage is Tirad Pass....where Gen Gregorio del Pilar was sniped....both passages are located in Ilocos Sur..

Love the drive from Tagudin up to my fiance's family's coffee plantation and the Bessang Pass Natural Monument. Makes for a great day especially to escape the humidity lol
if you plan to visit sagada province, the best way is to enter tagudin bitalag road going to municipality of soyu and cervantes ilocos sur. start your trip entering soyu early morning sunrise, alongside the highway is a mountain side resort. we went there for free walk going up to the cottages for free walk. after that go outsie the resort ang enjoy the long river parallel to the highway with its big rocks. if you not afraid of hiegths, stepped long and winding roads while viewing the mountain ranges as if your making your treck while driving at the same. kung pwede lang umagal ang makina na parang tao na napapagod sa walang katapusang akyatan. this the best for you. if you to visit cervantes some visitor who went there they say " magbaon ka ng sako at punuin mo ng ulap" . mountains are dominated by pine treses you can smell the scent of pines. the weather is sunny during summer but it is chiling also. cervantes the interior municipality of ilocos.... beautiful scenery nice weather stress reliever... continue your trip going to sagada probably the reason why they say " i survive sagada " souvenier shirts from sagada province because of the road going to thier place via soyi cervantes road of taguin ilocos. one of the routes going to sagada.

I was watching your other version of Bessang Pass when I read that you actually had a an older version which was a foggy one. So I immediately searched for it and found this! I've been on the hunt for a foggy Kennon road trip and this one has been a very good alternative!

Wow. it was 2009 nung napunta ko dyan. kami yung nag lane marking sa road rehabilitation project from suyo to cervantes. grabe sa bessang pass kahit 12:00 ng tanghali dyan madalas nagsisimulang kumapal ang hamog. plus inabutan ko dyan patatas, pipino, sayote 10 per kilo lang pag anihan.
at pag laki ko pupunta ako sa bessang pass hehehehe
Pagkatapos kaming mag vigan . Dadaan kaming papuntang baguio ay Bessang Pass.

+Emmy I my speed was the normal one ranging from 40 to 60 not more than 100 kph. Since the fog was heavy i have to really slow down. thanks for watching.

Super like. The 1st 15 to 20 minutes of the video solo mo ang buong kalsada. Ang sarap sigurong mag joyride dyan using ATV, meron kayang manghuhuli? ano sa tingin mo?

You can find elevation by using Google Earth. On the bottom, next to the coordinates you can see the elevation of the place where the mouse pointer points to.
I'm just mentioning it, in case you are curious to find it out.

+oyubalnilis 2nd gear puwede pero kapag kailangan puwersa first gear na. di naman ako nagamit ng second gear sa bessang pass. sa Malabrigo Batangas ako naparami.

Why not go further North to Ilocos Norte. The drive thru Pagudpud via the Patapat Aqueduct is stunning! Plus the White Rock (Kapurpurawan) formation will remind you of the Lord of the Rings!
