Mon actually thought what she felt for khun Sam was not love. She thought she's just idolizing her. She's confuse af. While khun Sam knows whats kinda happening (cause her sister is lesbian and she knows theirs a love between women), she's just denying it cause she's a coward. She's afraid that mon wont feel the same.
Umm, coward? Might be a bit harsh. She has been repressed her entire life. Never being allowed to do or say what she wants or feels. Also, she didn't grow up with alot of love shown to her. So when faced with these feelings that are so foreign to her, it is confusing for her. Not only that but because she never really had love in her life, when she starts having feelings things for Mon, it scares her not because she is a coward but because she was brought up to believe that she can't have what she wants. I also think she probably has abandonment issues. Stemming from not having her parents around, 1 sister dying and 1 sister leaving. She has gone through so much so a little empathy would be nice.
@Kellaaay i feel for sam contrary to what im saying and i get what you mean, i really do. But i still believe she is a coward. Yes, a little harsh but thats the way i feel and thats just me. Thank you for the ur opinion tho(cause i can see other people's perspectives)
6:39 maybe it's a bit confusing that mon says that, but in reality it's because mon only sees sam as an idol, as someone unattainable, but never as something romantic, she never asked herself that question if all that admiration for sam was really actually that she was in love with her *later that thought develops*
I missed Gap so so much. I rewatched it so many time. Wish you could do their reaction videos more quickly like one a day🤣 The story gets better and better. Their chemistry off screen is off the chart. That's why so many ppl ship them worldwide.
I’ve really been missing Gap and always wish I could go back and watch it again for the first time 😭 but watching your reactions helps fill that a bit so thank you 🥹
@mazvitaselemani nope. English is her first language. She uses Thai accent in her English depending on the situation and who she talks to. She speaks perfect English accent when she's talking to interfans and with her family. Her dad can only speak English so they speak English at home too.
Mon was 10 in grade 4, was attracted to Sam unconsiously as if it's gay awakening. Sam was a senior in the high school, was just being an older sister to young Mon for like a year until it stopped out of blue and only got attracted to Mon after meeting her again without knowing who she is. Yes, she has bad memory capacity 😅 Now, Mon is 22 and Sam is 29 almost 30. 8 years apart. Funnily, Mon is more mature than Sam 😭😂 About Mon's sexuality, it'll be answered soon in later eps. Yes, Thai is second language of Becky. She's a third culture kid who lived in australia, uk and new zealand. Thailand is probably permanent for her and only country she has lived in for a long time. She had to learn Thai for 3-4 years. Recently, her english is slowly fading away. Even interviewers and Freen had to help her in English lmaoo. I guess she is learning English less and more Thai. She even started to have a bit of Thai accent in English. Her evolution of accent is so interesting.
@@cristelvelasquez9851 idk if you have seen the show. SPOILERS:- Mon isn't Bi. She's gay. She has been obsessing over one woman her whole life without knowing it's an attraction to her. She thought it was idolization which is a reflection of heteronormativity. Like people invalidating some girls, "You like her because you want to be like her." There are some societies that perceives in that way. Basically, Mon was influenced by heteronormativity and failed to negotiate her sexuality. She met adult Sam and discovers the reality of her feelings for her. Differentiation of idolization and attraction.
@@illegallyliving8357 I really like that they went this arc for mon in the series; cuz from what I red they say that mon in the novel is sure of her feelings/sexuality and attraction towards sam so I really appreciate the change 😊 this is more common in asian countries as with the idol industry that have the most dedicated fans 💀 there's still a bunch of straight girls who are avid fans of female kpop idols, their room full of faces too 😹 mon's age was shown that she hasn't explored her attraction and sexuality yet, and there's sam who knows what she is💅✨ Nop is also an extention of mon's character of how they grew up in a heteronormative (yet open-minded) household hence he says stuff like; "If she wasn't a woman I'd be jealous." & "she must be training mon (sleepover)"
Omg wow I didn’t realise it until now that Becky Mon was 8 years younger than sarocha sam. Omg whaaaa I have students who are 8 years younger than me. This is kinda uncomfortable to learn😂 but love is love. I have always viewed my students as my children btw.
@@danynebula4923 Mon is 22 in the story, if you are in your early 20s then 8 years is a big difference if you are older but that difference matters less as you age, Sam is 30 so the age difference isn't as bad
By the way freen and becky had another series together before gap and they were supposed to be playing as best friends but director during ig live told that he saw the chemistry between them behind the camera and changed their on screen friendship into romantic relationship and then he suggested them to play main roles in gap the series because they were planning to shoot gl series a lot earlier
they were in Secret Crush On You which was the BL series that Idolfactory did before GAP, I watched like TH-cam edits from their scenes together in it and they were sooo cute but needed wayyy more scenes :c
If you're wondering about the chemistry between Mon and Sam, you should see Becky and freen because literally you will be shocked, they are unlike any other couple I've ever seen, the fame and love they've had over months because they have a healthy relationship and the great chemistry, they're both obsessed With each other, if you see how their relationship is in real life, you will love them.
In a previous EP Mons mother told her to let Khun Sam meet Singa the son of Sua. So, they were not spoiling it. They were restating. A lot of people and reactors actually missed that point because you are concentrating on multiple series. A lot of people miss the royalty factor as well. Which are in the first couple of episodes. I hope I don't sound too defensive, I am a bit tired.
29:51 I actually liked this angle from the writers, basically erasing the idol-fan power dynamic at play (with Mon 'knowing' everything versus Sam knowing almost nothing at all) and making them more equal partners, getting to know each other for real and sort of flattening the imbalance between the, giving Mon the opportunity to get to know her on equal footings. I feel like this episode destroyed Mon's idol worship of Sam and now its go-time to get to know each other. Also the friends know Sam well and know that this new girl has her acting out of character; you can immediately tell they support them and know that something is going on and want to nurture that as they know that Kirk and Sam are just not it. Alsooo yess queen, Mon stealing her friends too is such a mood.
Sam's friends r an entire vibe! I love them. Crazy seksi cool. Love this episode. Sam is so aloof at times. Clueless. Hopelessly in love and she doesn't does know it. Does that make sense? 😅
This is probably my favourite episode; mostly because of Sam's friends. You can see how much they all love Sam epitomised in that look of affection Jim is giving her after they get Sam to 'confess' her true feelings; also (though you didn't include it) remember that comment of Tee's that she 'would 'console Yuki' if Mon sent Yuki her way. Those three are my fave characters after the leads. The 'such a freeloader' comment that Sam makes early on makes me giggle every time too :-) kerk
Decided to keep this separate but, at this stage, both Sam & Mon are in denial about their feelings; very different reasons, both familiar to me. I've known people who discovered relatively late they liked people of the same sex; hell I was very close to turning sixty before I accepted/realised I was non-binary (in the same revelatory moment I realised I was Trans; surgery seems unlikely, but that changes nothing). I was in my forties before I accepted Queer as an identity. Despite having very supportive parents; parents I can only dream of, she seems to have never had romantic feelings for anyone, until she met her Idol in real life; neither knows how to handle it, but Sam's feelings have been buried much deeper; much more traumatically as well. Accepting any feelings for both must be difficult for both to adjust to, but both have 'families' that are very supportive of them, and the delight at the changes in their friend endeared me to all Lady Sam's friends; especially Jim, and the speed with which they accept Mon into their circle is a wonderful reminder of a much less difficult time in my life. These asian queer series & movies I have been watching since I discovered Soljiwan from Nevertheless have at times kept me going, but this show; as usually for me, especially in the secondary & supporting characters, eclipses them all.
