The winner of our first ever student sketch writing contest! A group of Nephites assisting Mormon with abridging the plates struggle with their fact checking.
@MorningofMourning, aren't you sweet? ☺ Thank you for the sweet compliment to all of us LDS/Mormons! ☺Thank you for watching our videos and support! May Heavenly Father bless you!
I agree and disagree with you, i agree with you on the Book of Mormon, it is true. and I love it as well. But i love Studio C, it is so funny, and clean humor that is not everywhere today.
I completely disagree with this video because it portraits the Book of Mormon as boring and uninteresting. The Book of Mormon is true. It was written by prophets which means that it is a sacred book. The Book of Mormon is very important in my life and very interesting to me. I also disagree with Studio C because they frequently make fun of sacred things and they constantly make wrong behaviors appear to be funny and accepted.
I love the Book of Mormon too, but I disagree with you because you're taking things too seriously. Have you noticed how Studio C is made of clean comedy, rather than the awful stuff that's all over the Internet now?
I think of it a different way. It rather pokes fun of thinking of the Book of Mormon as boring and uninteresting. Consider the behavior of the leader in the sketch. He tasks the people with taking the numbers in the Book of Mormon seriously. The funny part isn't that he was undermined. The funny part is how. I think we can relate to that man, who may try to get people to take something seriously, but have others disregard it or end up frustrated with it. But we can also relate to the others, who are frustrated with the math. In the end, it is funny because it pokes fun at something that drives a wedge between people. President Hinckley's wife, Marjorie, once stated that when given the choice between laughing or crying, she chose to laugh! Sometimes things are just so serious, so terrible, and so hard that if you don't laugh at them, you will break down and cry and you will feel depressed instead of uplifted. I know this from personal experience.
Not to be a party-pooper, but for those unfamiliar with Mormon culture, if you do this humor outside of BYU's Divine Comedy, it's seen as Uber-heretical. I like the humor, but I'm always shocked at how much these guys get away with.
"Actually, I have THREE jobs, but I'm bad at both of them." Kinda sums up the whole script, eh? Hilarious!
If only all math was like that... Too great to be numbered.
"Why does this always come to pass?"
I wanted someone to say “70x7” and the teacher would ask what *that* was, and they would say “too great to be numbered.”
I need my eyes checked. I read the title as "Nephite Meth."
I have three jobs and I'm bad at both of them.
I laughed beyond measure.
Lol Im learning this stuff in seminary I should show this video to my class
My most favorite thing ever.

Hahaa i feel like this would be what would happen if my teachers qourm was in charge of collecting the numbers... perhaps that was what happend ;) lol

Studio c rarely does that, so you're wrong. Have you noticed how in the book how the numbers say that a lot? They're not making fun

It's BYU what do you expect? I'm a member of their church and a BYU student, and these people get it
