Love the drill. One critique, when she is inside the guard blocking with the rear hand opens her up for a jab from you to her head. If she was outside your guard this drill would train even better habits.

I'm glad you liked the drill, and thanks for taking the time to give feedback. Can you please advise the part of the video (time stamp) you are referring to in particular?

The purpose of this drill is very cool. I do have one concern. We pull back the non-punching hand for hip rotation and other reasons. This drill, however, is very close to sparring. Would it be better to not pull the non-punching hand back and keep it up as a guard? I worry that the habit of dropping the guard may be carried into sparring. Along the lines of @DR-nw7xn's comment.

Thanks for the comment. I would agree that keeping a high guard for the non-punching hand would be better than pulling it back to the hip, and I think Sensei Annie (who is demonstrating the punching) would agree. We come from a background where pulling the hand back to the hip was considered the “correct” thing to do in all situations except actual sparring (ludicrous!) so transitioning to not doing that is still a “work in progress” for some where old habits die hard!
In this case, pulling the hand back to the hip happened to work well for demonstration purposes in terms of it made the pad positions easier to see, but I do not think it is generally desirable to pull the hand back to the hip unless that hand has hold of something (eg a limb being cleared).
Thanks again for watching the video, and I’m glad that you enjoyed the premise of the drill.

Shes not protecting her face? Wouldnt she be eating punches from the other hand? Great co-ordination drill though...but chin down and protect that jaw/chin.
    ps. Sick shades.
