    I have a 2019 Ascent and have driven the 2023 Ascent. I have only one complaint. At night, with the rear hatch open, there is no lighting other than one small lite on the lower deck. You can't see anything so I've added my own. The 2023 CVT is much improved and is very smooth. The "Eyesight Program" has saved me from easily 8 near accidents over the years. in the 2023 model it is even more improved! The 2023 is extremely smooth and quiet on the highway and the engine has quick power beginning at just 2000 rpms. If you need to, hit it and go. Very sufficiently powered and you'll not be disappointed. My 2019 has 65k miles and I've not had any issues whatsoever other than I think two minor recalls. Subaru builds a great vehicle and go onto youtube and watch the "boxer engine" so you better understand the low gravity and better handling. For moms, the back doors open EXTRA WIDE so you can easily walk in to adjust car seats or the kids. I can't speak highly enough of my experience with Subaru.

    Two things are missing. I have a 2023 Ascent Touring and I was so surprised that a wireless charger is an option along with dimming exterior mirrors. At this price point those two things should be standard.

    Picked up a 2024 a few days ago. Went up to Lee Canyon to ski with my daughter this past weekend. It was snowing and the highway patrol wa turning people without chains or awd away. We were let through. The Subie did awesome driving through the snow. We even went around other cars that were struggling. The stock 20 inch tires did awesome.

    If you want a reliable car for your family, please choose a Subaru car. It doesn't have a modern exterior but its engine is one of the best!

    I'm on my 2nd ascent, because I loved the new face lift so we traded our 2020 in for a 23! This is my 4th subie.. I love their safety rating!

    Huge improvement with the infotainment center absolutely true dat. Huge fan of the CVT so long as you're not towing and doing crazy hauling over long distance. Might be worth waiting on the hybrid if that ever happens.

    i have a 22 Ascent Onyx in Metallic Green, and I love it. I hate the newer touchscreen controls and those wheels. The only thing I dislike about my vehicle is that it doesnt offer wireless carplay/android auto.

    My only complaint with my 2024, bad placement of cargo light. Should’ve mounted it on the hatch. Also, the front map lights have been switched to led soldered to PCB vs 194 so forget about swapping cabin lights.

    I love the exterior and I have faith in its quality but the interior is a deal breaker. Ugly and unpleasant place to be IMO. I know they can do much better. I would rather have Acura MDX or Honda Pilot over this. To each his own I guess?

  • @RetrieverTrainingAlone
    @RetrieverTrainingAlone ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Looks like a station wagon rather than an SUV. I like the Honda Pilot because of the widest width between wheel wells...I can add a sheet of plywood, sheetrock or 2 extra large dog boxes side by side inside a Pilot. I also like there 6-cylinder engine that is likely to last much longer than those 4-cylinder engines in some SUVs. I like the All Wheel Drive up here in Alaska for winter driving. NO CVT, reliable 9 or 10 speed transmission.

    • @DanielAcostaAZ
      @DanielAcostaAZ ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The Ascent is one inch wider between the wheel wells than the Pilot; third row is also one inch wider, and there is one more inch behind the third row to the tailgate than the Pilot. The Pilot does have more third row headroom.

      I’m 6’-7” tall and there’s a ton of room in the front 2 rows. We never use the 3rd row since we have no kids, just dogs. Super smooth ride.

    Bought the 2023 ascent touring. I regret it.
    Exterior, interior: good no issues. Agree with your 7 out of 10, though would go to higher.
    Tech: this is where it fails. On paper has a lot of features, but execution fails miserably. Annoying, inconvenient. Screen is terrible. And for all the cameras it has, it is not as good at park assist compared to other vehicles. Dislike the sunroof moonroof controls.
    also, mpg is worse then advertised. I drive conservatively and normally get 3-5 above posted mpg.
    Engine:
    If you barely tap the gas, it goes very slow... push in a bit more and it guns it. Hard balance. But if you are in a situation where you need to gun it from stop, the vehicle seems to get confused and just sits for a second or two before gunning it (and hopefully whatever you were accelerating for hasnt hit you while your subaru was trying to figure out how to accelerate)
    I am never doing a subaru again.

    • @sansinutube
      @sansinutube ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So what mpg do you get? 3-5 mpg above advertised mpg sounds very good, too good to be true infect.

    • @TheDukerino
      @TheDukerino ปีที่แล้ว

      My poor communication. With other cars, i typically get 3-5 above posted based on my route (speeds, stoplights,etc) and my conservative driving; but with my subaru ascent I get way below (3-5) sticker mpg... which considering its low to start but 3-5 below is 25% loss.

    Good grief, how long are they going to milk that little boxer engine... they could at least make a bigger boxer.. it's just pathetic....

    • @briandenisefarmer333
      @briandenisefarmer333 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Agree. A 2.4L turbocharged engine in this segment should be hovering at the 300hp range. So it’s detuned vs what some of the competition is doing. The ride and comfort in my opinion is more of a 9/10 but would agree with the rest of his review. Subaru isn’t gonna hit you with a luxury play like a Grand Highlander Platinum or top level Honda Pilot. They are more focused on practicality and value for the money plus their AWD system and reliability
