Home schooling has not been banned. The bill says there will be stricter controls to make sure that a home schooled child is keeping up with their peers. It’s just about monitoring the syllabus. But think about it, how much following up can you see happening? They won’t have enough staff to monitor anything…

You seem to be forgetting that the ANC was in power for 30 years and basically destroyed South Africa, including the education system. The BELA Bill was put together by the previous ANC Minister of Education, not the present one. There was opposition to the bill but because there were no opposition Cabinet Ministers, the DA was powerless to stop it. Now there is a DA Minister of Education and she doesn’t agree with the Bill as it stands.
The DA has always opposed this Bill.
