  • Here’s a tutorial on how to modify the SUNLU S1 dryer box to get the correct temperatures. Easily done by relocating the temperature sensor and adding a fan to create a convection current to evenly distribute to heat throughout the entire filament
As you see, I used a FLIR ONE Pro for iPhone to take these videos. The boxes have heat soaking for +3 hours as I’m in the middle of a print, the I have 2 modified SUNLU S1 boxes that have been like this for 2 months and no issues on my end...
I do have to say this... legal disclaimer: don’t try this at home, if you attempt something like this, proceed at your own risk.
FYI, I this is my 1st video, I apologize for my stuttering, and if I said the wrong terminology, I was trying to go watch the Super Bowl and wanted to let the Boxes heat soak to give an accurate reading, Hopefully you’ll know what I meant while watching it. Also the wire for the temp sensor I added 19” making it 23” long.
The black stripe on my thumb nail is not dangerous, it’s been checked, over 10 years ago I smashed it when I was a Master ASE Tech. working on cars. Between a caliper and a rim on a Mercedes SUV. I just have a permanent dead root there.
EDIT: the fan port on the front of the board does nothing, no voltage was present during any of the stages, so the fan is not enabled. I guess it’s for future builds?
These are the 5015 Fans that I used

(just an FYI putting them in the box like I did, will cause the LCD segments to all illuminate making it hard to read the display… It’s best to just cut a rectangular hole in the top clear section of the box, with a Dremel, so it won’t be hard to read)
