Terry McFlynn - a Sydney FC legend, two-time A-League champion, and the foundation Director of Football for the new Auckland-based club - joins Martin Devlin on It's Only Sport, talking all about his new role. The Auckland A-League side is set to enter the competition in time for the 2024-25 season.
Martin asks Terry all about key decisions the club is yet to make including the preference for their foundation coach, what colours they'll wear, and more. As well that, Terry talks about where the club will play its games and how they plan to draw crowds in Auckland.

Auckland deserve a reasonable A-League team; but..
I think it's important to have a 'decent' Academy set up before they start tinkering with a Ladies Team. That will come but doesn't need to take precedence.
For example, Warrior fans are interested in the Men's NRL squad first and foremost. Cinderella Teams are OK but they don't pay the bills. Just ask SKY.
