Thank you Joan! I am 5 1/2 months out from my last chemo treatment and the hair is just growing back enough that I can stop wearing caps and a wig. The hair is curly but I had wavy hair before I lost it so hoping once it grows in some more that it will be easier to style! For now, I am just going to be happy it is growing back and that I stay cancer free! Will try some of those styling products for sure.
Miss Joan London, you're just as beautiful as always and such an inspiration! I'm in the Kiwi stage of hair regrowth and looking forward to being like you soon! 😊 Thanks for being you and a constant reminder of strength!
I thought growing my hair back would be easier but it came back grey and curly. Ok. Not bad, but it’s growing back tall on top like a Mohawk! I look like a poodle. I made the mistake of having it died brown. I’ve finished chemo and I’ve been good natured for a year, but I’m weary of radical hair changes. 😢 people are so supportive. I just want to feel normal again.
Thank you so much for this Joan. It’s almost 2 yrs since my stem cell transplant. Between not being able to do anything with my hair and my extreme dry eyes from gvhd, I avoid going out in public. Ive been so afraid to cut my hair into a style because i just cant wait till it grows back. BTW we met you and your family many years ago at breakfast at the Contemporary in Disneyworld. You gave us an autograph. You might remember, we both had daughters named Lindsay. Take care!
I'm just growing mine back, almost four months after my last chemo, and I'm laughing at how a straight-haired woman learns to deal with curls. My own is normally very, very curly (I call it a Jewfro), but it's still so short that it seems straight! I thank you for your videos, Joan, and I look forward to having enough to style.
Joan, at age 46 and going through breast cancer it's cool to have you as a guide. It reminds me of when I was a teen watching morning shows with my mom and you were always there. What a great voice and light touch you bring. I'm glad to have you back!
Try this: wash your new hair with a good quality drug store conditioner - not shampoo. Love your hair, don't cook it! Air dry only. Your hair will be soft - not coarse! Good luck!

Me too
Mine came back with "chemo curls" and my normally straight hair is now a big challenge for me so thanks for the help.
You are adorable. I am more wary about using over-the-counter products. I use organic products only.
Thank you I really admire you
Thanks for sharing.
Something to look forward to , !
Thank you!
