Is nobody gonna talk about how in the beginning of the movie they decide to drop paratroopers into the middle of an entirely infested Las Vegas?

My explanation for that bit was it seemed like a thrill seeker, not a soldier. Seemed like random people were going to have fun, like the streamer/youtuber guy was doing.

My interpretation was that she intended to die. She had dialogue earlier in the film expressing guilt for all the people she’d gotten killed in the past. Character is still a bit inconsistent or not present though.
"no, i can't leave this family without a mother, instead of me staying and taking care of them myself , i'm gonna go risk my life as well so that they can possibly lose both of their guardians"
I mean, I can kind of understand this mentality - I'd do just about ANYTHING to avoid having to look after children as well.

I'm so glad I hear someone else mention the fact that when told "in 20 minutes they will NUKE this place" the characters take their sweet time counting and carrying the money, having nice chats, not even hurrying. If it was me I would just shove all I could into a bag and run, that's still a win even if you don't get every single dollar in the vault and it's better than GETTING NUKED
Also when Batista was just looking at his daughter for 5 years at end before he hopped on the helicopter
I mean id make more of a rush of it but theres no way Id leave without as much as I could carry but I wouldn't be stoping for a chat or anything like that my whole idea would be get as much money as possible without getting myself killed I wouldn't consider anything less than as much as I could carry a win if you take a risk you're not gonna be happy with just part of the reward
I've seen a few critics on this movie and I'm still wondering: doesn't anybody else notice that the zombie lord goes down from the roof top of a building onto his horse, goes all the way across the city of Vegas to another building in the same time it takes the main cast to make the same trip by fockin helicopter with a head start?!?!!!??? Wtf was that?!

For real! I absolutely cannot stand channels that have to do intros every video. I don’t have a channel and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be successful even if i did; but I would do any viewers a favor and save any need to discuss myself and my channel at the very end.

When I saw Chambers bust out the window, I thought that they were making a change to the whole betrayal storyline. I was excited, then they just killed her off. I don't know why they didn't just kill her off inside, would've made much more sense. Not like the character needed a memorable death. We barely knew her. You could turn your brain off during the movie and still notice all the plot holes

You forgot to mention that Chambers admitted she had never killed a zombie before, but before her death scene she kills dozens of them with a small knife like she is John Wick.
Also the recruiting scenes were basically Bautista asking some random person “wanna make some money?” Then the person he asks is like “yeah, sure.” And that’s it.
what about the part where he rescues his daughter, gets to the rooftop, then just chills in front of the helicopter when they know a nuke is coming along with the zombies. Just get on the dam chopper what are you waiting for
Plus how they only had 20 min? There is no way they did all they did in less than 20 min

This move is actually a masterpiece. Why, you ask? Cause not a single video on youtube has managed to account for ALL the instances of sheer stupidity contained in it. A flick so jam-packed with idiocy is a work of art.

Would be more effective and you are able to move in and reclaim the land after the fires die down. Now nuclear fallout. You can use troops to secure any straggler zombies.

What annoyed me about the movie is the complete lack of urgency. 20 minutes to go until the bomb drops and the characters start professing love and talking about their relationships.

This is the type of movie to “half-watch” you know just hang out and talk through it then look at the tv during a fight seem and be like “woah I have no idea what’s going on but cool”

AoTD= 30 minutes plot stretch to 2.5 hours
Hands down the dumbest moment is Chambers death, it's such a pivotal moment and would've had such an impact on the rest of the story. So much about that scene could've changed so much about how the story proceeded. She lives, they kill Tanakas guy, and more. It's actually pretty mad 😂
I will never understand why Tanaka made an entire fake heist when he was really trying to get a Zombie head, only for him to fucking send the one dude who knows what they’re there for to just go with the diversion and use a busted helicopter to get out

Yeah but the guy he recruited and the crew he put together were moralistic about zombies, having been in the thick of the outbreak in Vegas. They never would have agreed to the job not wanting to risk another outbreak or weaponization of zombies. He needed to concoct a ruse for sending them in. That ruse was probably spoon fed to him and the exact reason why the military chose him( since he owned a casino in the area) as a front man cut out for the whole scheme.

@@scotthayward9788 Tanaka could've lied about the reason he wanted the head. He could say some bullshit about how they want it to find more effective ways to kill the alphas. He could claim the government wanted Tanaka to put a team together because they can't afford to send anymore good soldiers to their deaths. However Tanaka's bitch could reveal that he only wants the head to use as leverage over the government.
This would create the conflict within the team. Asking our protagonists is the money worth their morality.
To truly understand how stupid the opening events are imagine:
A military transport of a nuclear weapon, and all the personnel don't even know/care about what they are transporting.

Western Family Paul Rudd was one of the dumbest 'Sergeants' I've ever seen on screen. Wasn't watching the road, barely understood what the word 'payload' even meant, didn't understand basic orders, didn't understand how his gun worked, didn't understand how the HUMVEE worked and chooses to fucking walk away from the fucking Usain Bolt of zombies. Honestly set the tone for the whole movie.
Military don't get paid to ask questions, they're just told to move the cargo from point A to B

They can’t think of a single way to defend his dog ass movies so they default into accusing you of not understanding the movie.
If you read the things he’s adapting, such as watchmen or The Dark Knight Returns, it’s obvious that he only has a very surface level understanding of the material.
Like watchmen satirizes comic book action, but I know for a fact he saw it and thought that the action in it was so sick lol
I think he's a great director. Watchman is easily one of the best comic book movies ever made and his Justice League blows 90% of Marvel movies out of the water.

I didnt like the movie. For how it was hyped up it really wasn't anything close to the hype.
I also like how the walled in Vegas has literally no one guarding it ever. Like they stacked 2 shipping containers all around and were like "no ones getting in there, that wall is like 30 feet. You'd need at least TWO ladders to climb this bad boy"
If a billionaire wants a live zombie head for himself, he won't just send a few hunters with a net to retrieve the alpha zombie they encounter, he will send an entire oblivious team with a mole in it, with a bank heist cover, and hope his mole can come through, because that's more fun, and the first option is too simple. What a masterpiece. 😍

...also keep in mind this wasn't the 1st team he sent in with this ridiculous plan lol. It's also worth pointing out that this heist involved cracking Tanaka's safe, why did no one on the team just ask Tanaka what the safe code was since it was his safe?...makes no sense

1st- the annoying daughter goes on about Geeta’s two kids being left alone, then decides to also leave them alone to go rescue their mother
2nd - the zombie king beating a helicopter to the building where annoying daughter is
Actually there is a 3rd- Bautista chose this over Suicide Squad

4th thing: We don't know if the kids were still in the camp waiting for mom when the nuke went off. Some say they evacuated but I think they were still there because the camp was already pretty much evacuated at the point we met them.

There were always zombies with blue eyes. They never explained it but you can see them through the whole movie.

When the military transports items like the “alpha zombie”, high security cargo, they block off the roads from other traffic.
Also wouldn't have both the truck and driver not reacting to on coming traffic. Ontop of that there would be a containment procedure in case the cargo gets compromised... among other things.
Yeah and when people have a shit, they're meant to wipe their asses... but some people don't, doesn't mean it can't happen.

I am blown away that you didn't mention that the king zombie somehow developed the blacksmithing skill to craft a bulletproof helmet.
I was hyped when I knew about the movie. Then I saw it and found it okay. Now that I notice all of these devoid of logic moments, I conclude this movie is a joke who takes itself way too serious and actually it is a waste of hundreds of millions of dollars. Also, what the fuck? Robot zombies and nobody talks about it? Other than that, the Chambers last stand was awesome.
We all lost our heads a little when the trailer dropped. Yet another movie that failed to live up to its own hype.

The only part of this film I enjoyed is when that badass lady goes on a tear in the kitchen. Like she’s gets lead of path and you think “oh fuck”. She gets away but then aviators locks the door and agin you’re like “oh fuck she’s dead”. Then she fucking dives out a window still going and you’re like “fuck yes she’s alive let’s all help her”. But the group who at this point aren’t really that far ahead just leave. It’s the only part I enjoyed and the final part is stupid as they just abandon the most badass person there.

I at first disliked her character (cliche strong independent woman), but at that point she had completely earned my respect, and I was just screaming at the rest of the crew to help her. I knew of course that they wouldn't, because how else would the mole remain a mole for the next 80 minutes of runtime, but still. It was so annoying, and it could have been so easily prevented by having just written the scene to be more desperate. More zombies. Fewer exits. Less space. Simple. The way it was written now if I'd have had the Cold Steel machete next to my bed currently I could've fucking helped her. By the time she got "swarmed", there's this shot with two zombies on her left and two on her right side, probably around six feet away each. All they had to do was clear one path, meaning that they had to kill two zombies. Then she could've just bolted past the other two and made it to the crew.
I'm really disappointed with the writing of this film. Zack as usual excelled at his characters and tension, but this time it, like half his work, came at the cost of all logic and established rules.
This is one of the worst movies I have ever had the displeasure of being tricked into watching. With a trailer, title and musical intro like that - one would think you were in for one of those sleek, morbidly humorous and gory, or at least balls-to-walls action films, but no, this movie takes itself entirely seriously, and it's funny for all the wrong reasons.

The only funny part to me was when that one lady, who’s name I can’t even remember now, confessed her love or something like that then got her head snapped backwards lmao
Snyder cannot write humor at all; most of his movies are just naturally morbid and takes themselves very seriously (which works for films like Watchmen but doesn't work for more tongue in cheek kind of movie like Army of the Death)

The billionaire literally could have paid the Coyote to go in and grab the head. Bringing a few extra guns just in case. There was no need for an Ocean's Eleven-style style team nor a movie nearly 3 hours long, lol. I guess this is what happens when Zack has too much creative freedom. Too many ideas, too much time spent and all the devoid of logic moments. And I say this as a fan of most of his work. He simply is better with a strong outline i.e. when adapting someone else's work. When doing his own thing, he goes HAM and not in the best of ways.

It was a Netflix film. The funding to review and rewrite probably wasn't there! Seems the film is a entertaining concept, but needed a fear more passes on the screenplay from a few more writers! Netflix ain't dumping money on one director, to have all the time in the world to do whatever he wanted. This is a mater of not hiring someone to tell him NO!

Hell the friend who's entire existence was the driving force behind the daughter wanting to come didn't even survive in the end.
That's the point. No one survives since their reason to go in was greed. Only the daughter survives since she was doing it for pure reasons.
We dont even get to know If she died. The last time we see her is mounting the chopper. After that she just vanished. Feels like they just forgott her while editing the end.
@Derek Winbush when you know that your actual family member might be dead, you are probably gonna be looking for them first than your friend. If she was alive, we could have seen her later. She's not shown=she's dead. Because that's again the point. The daughter is the only one that was gonna get out of there alive.

@Derek Winbush I'm not making up any reasons. You missing them on first view is different. She surviving is the point of the movie. And as her being the cause of mistakes is part of the movie too, you can't have all characters be perfect and not cause problems or else there is no drama. Things are gonna get bad one way or another. And that is stablished with the idea of all of them trapped in a time loop where they are having to get better every time it is reset. So we will see how much that plays in the prequel and sequel.
Also, near to the end, you can't "save" Geeta's children from the camp, since the camp is literally back to back to the wall of Vegas.... Boom?
It was physically painful watching this movie. How someone who directed dawn of the dead 2004 can make this now is beyond the bad batch of cocaine they must’ve been binging on. I wished that the president in the movie would’ve redirected the nuke at me to prevent me from watching the movie. ☠️

The most stupid thing for me, that you didnt mention, was the fact that the characters encountered the alpha many times, and every time they were shooting him in the face, not noticing that he was wearing a metal face protector.
Like, of course aiming for the head is a zombie movie cliche, but seriously? Not even trying to go for his chest or legs to slow him down? And they all knew that he was the zombie leader, so he should be their main target.
To bad they didn't have Isaac Clark with them. He would have immediately taken out the Alpha's legs to disable their movement. Aim for the knees. I mean, they're zombies... they're not gonna grow the limbs back.

I hate the type of look on the daughters face and her attitude as she has a meltdown. She comes off not just as a brat, but as a snarky control freak who has no idea of the seriousness of the situation.

i hate it when script writers just add charackters to complicated a Story, they have nothing to add no charackter-depth or charackter-arc its just there with her Fuck-me-Eyes and stupid attitude to create problems.
The daughter (Kate) calls Scott (Dave Bautista) dad when she wanted him to take her inside Vegas. But when they are opening the backup generators and Scott bleeds his heart out to her, she calls him Scott and outrightly admits that she hates him. Talk about being duplicitous.

Snyders JL was in keeping with what he'd started with Man of Steel and when watched with BvsS (the ultimate edition) they all just work so well together and I'm glad we got the chance to see it. I get that many didn't like it, and that's fine. For me, coming from JL to this was a let down on a massive scale. Plus he'd done Dawn of the Dead (with a James Gunn script) that was a great film (it didn't remake the epic original, more took the concept and re-worked it). As for Whedon, I feel similar that he has delivered some great films (I loved the first Avengers film and was a Buffy fan) so with his JL take it felt similar to me like he'd let himself down. I guess a lot of what happens to good film makers as they get bigger is the studio interferrence also increases. More money often doesn't mean more freedom to do what you want...

Snyder has directed some decent films in the past but I can't remember a good one that he wrote and this was apparently his first one where he was also in charge of camera work, which seems to have led to cameras that are barely in focus.

A couple more stupid things in this stupid thing:
- the soldiers in the beginning run away on foot, when an armored vehicle is right behind them, not only a bit faster, but also the zombie couldnt even get in
- since Tanaka has ties to the military anyways, why not form a Military group; or if the Military is interested in the head, why dont they directly go for it on their own? or why wont they at least get permition to fly in and out?
- why does the daughter asume that geeta is 1) alive (because there is 0 reason to believe that) and 2) asumes right away where they are when the Zombie HQ is mentioned
- why doesnt Martin just sneak away as soon as he has the head, no he keeps following the group until sh*t hits the fan, although he knew it would
- when the heli takes off: how can the zombie king get down, then to the other building and then up that building almost as fast as the heli?
- there is a full list of other hardware they could have gotten to prepare
- there is no reason why Martin should want the group to die, in fact it would be easier, faster and safer to get out together, also extra money wouldnt hurt
There is however a vaguely implied reason why the family was left alive: The zombies try to procreate; the zombie fetus shows that and it meant a lot to the king. So going from that bit of information and the fact that they are all women, it could mean that the zombies rape women, because you know...its just a fun movie.
I bet there are even more nonsensical things.
This seriously is one of the worst movies in history, i feel sorry for the effects team, because they did a good job, only to have it ruined by a guy thinking he should write direct and shoot his own movies, even though hes only decent at directing. I dont even hate Snyder, i just think hes one of those directors, who shouldnt been given that much control over their movies.

Finally,this movie was a fucking nightmare to get through.When people said this movie is dumb fun like venom/Aquaman,I thought I would enjoy it but nooooo....,this movie tries to be serious at times and fails miserably.2/10,the action and intro montage sequence are the only good parts of this fucking atrocity.

You're right about most of it, except for the radiation and nuke stuff. A tactical nuke can actually do damage in a very restricted and predictible area, the nuclear material in a nuke has extremely fast decay (that's why it explodes) and nuclear contamination lasts much less than a power plant leak, for example, within hours the area is toxic, but not immediately lethal. The blast that hits the helicopter is air moved by the thermal blast in the city, and not radioactive material projected.
I'm starting to understand why WB didn't have faith in Snyder's original Justice League cut.
Yet his directors cut was 10000X better than what Warner Bro’s originally released, they messed up the original release with their stupid changes.
I was on board with this movie, until Chambers died. That was so fucking dumb and they literally just stood there and watched her die when she barely needed help… like a single shot probably could have helped her save herself.
This movie is mind boggling in how it makes no sense, characters act like bizarre aliens and nothing makes any sense. There are entire ideas and themes set up and ignored, entire storylines overlooked like robot zombies… there are several things set up with no pay off,,, like the saw.

A "narrow depth of field" means there is more blur from what is not directly in focus, a wide depth of field means more stuff (background) is in focus. narrow depth of field is..."artistic", but makes for an awful viewing experience. This movie probably has the most narrow depth of field ever used in a movie, its actually nauseating its so bad.

I got another one, the UH-1N (helicopter on the roof) has a maximum weight capacity of 2,268kg. So the money alone and the pilot would reach max weight.
On top of that it was old and busted up so it still could have broken down with the pilot and the money in it.
The useful load is 4500lbs or 2038kgs, thats accounting for the crew so yea you are right kinda. 3 crew plus 4500lbs in cargo. Although the whole betrayal thing kinda throws that out because the dude was just gonna ditch them.
Damn, imagine having so much money that you need heavy equipment to move all of it.
I think the worst part is one of the soldiers at the beginning runs away from the zombie, and just says "Oh we're far away, we're okay."
I stopped watching after I saw the zombies easily contained in Vegas using shipping containers. This is within the first 20mins. How can you expect to trap ALL the zombies in time without at least 1000 escaping to terrorize other cities? The moving of containers would have given ample time for most to escape. Zack Snyder is seriously overrated.
The fact that the convoy didn't have a hunter killer following it for the exact potential containment breach that happens kinda solidified my disbelief right off the bat.
Let's also not forget when the pilot does the fake out leaving them behind and then come back as a "surprise" no one can hear the helicopter... it just comes up from below and then when they notice it it makes noise...
Not for nothing I’m assuming that when dealing with billions of dollars, they change that vaults pass code every 10 minutes digitally or something.
