Love shooters so this was a very helpful video. I've played a couple of these, but I hadn't heard of most of them. Thanks John.

I did not spend time playing the PC engine when i was Younger and i love it now. I am happy i missed it because i can enjoy these classics that are new to me. I have been spending time with it a lot as of late doing some retirees and i just picked up a Core grafx and cleaned it up for my channel. Great video.

I'd like to get a PC engine and Turbgrafx16, but I've never played them before. The shooting games remind me of SNES. All of these consoles are 4th generation. I love Gradius 3 on SNES. I made it far into the game as a kid but never beat it until I started playing it again over 20 years later.

Dragon Sabre was a great follow up to Dragon Spirit, much friendlier gameplay since it's so much easier to power-up. Sinistron is pretty good on the system, if not obscure enough for this video - and I'll second other comments about Cybercore being decent. I do have to say that I much prefer Download II on CD to the original on HuCard but I'm a reasonable guy that understands people can have their own opinions :)

Great video! PCE does indeed have a large library of shoot-em-ups. The Super-CD takes it a step further. Some notable games are Cho Aniki, Ai Ch Aniki, and Hellfire S. The Lost Sunheart is a favorite that is available on Hu Card.

Nice selection of hucards titles that you chose to showcase. Metal Stoker in particular doesn’t get enough love. But I wasn’t aware of Rabio Lepus, thanks for that, I just ordered a copy for myself! As far my favorite PCE shooters, I have to go with the entire Solider series: Super Star Soldier, Final Soldier & Soldier Blade. Each of them are awesome in their own way with Soldier Blade being the pinnacle of the series. However, Final Soldier is great and also doesn’t get enough love.

I'm curious how you are getting such clear gameplay footage? Is that a modded PC Engine or emulation through something like a Raspberry Pi? Thanks John! Great video.

I feel so bad for you and the other hard working creators on this platform. Anyway, cool video. I really need to get a PC Engine so I can check some of these out.
