Hello, I have a 2010 BMW 328i sedan and I tried to upgrade my navigation maps but about 80% into the upgrade I got an error message that the CD could not be read (I was using USB memory stick), I tried the upgrade 3 times and I got the same error code. I was told that the firmware in the vehicle needed to be updated because there's a glitch on early production date. My question to you is, How do I do the firmware update? Have you run into this problem before? I thank you in advance of your kind reply.

Looked in boot and nothing. How do I now update my map as it’s very out of date now. Is there a usb port for example in the rear of screen for example? Stumped. I have read that if I have ccc without dvd its m-ask but they don’t have nav. I have nav but no dvd slot?

Does anyone know if some aftermarket group makes an updated 2020 map download you can burn? I'm in the US and looking at getting a 2004-10 650i (09 and 10 would be great since they have the CIC system instead) and would like to be able to drive it home when I fly out to get it.
I have a 2004 545i Bmw and the navigation is showing the car in Seattle Washington at home but my home state is in Dallas Texas. How can I change it that my navigation system starts from my home in stead of Washington. To go somewhere in Dallas it’s showing me as 2,860 miles away when it’s really 5 miles from my home. Any ideas on how to correct that problem issue

Hi from Australia! Mate I have just purchased a E61 MY2009. I have the professional NAV option in this car I believe it’s the CIC version. I think I have a coding/programming issue as the locking option is not present in the IDrive so the vehicle keys are personalized to the previous customers setting and I can not undo this along with other features in settings not there.. Can you shed any light on this? Would you have a MAP update for Australia and to do a CIC? Excuse my ignorance- can this only be done via USB for this spec? It does have a single CD/DVD?? Driver in the console. It has a factory 6 stack CD fitted in the glove box if that sheds any light. Kind regards Amir

As a side note does anyone know how to get the satnav to display directions on the HUD? I have the option set to display in the idrive HUD menu but don't see directions on the HUD whereas the cruise, warning messages and speedball display. The car is a 2009 E61 550 and the idrive has the silver menued software installed. Many thanks to anyone that has any suggestions.

In my case, it was the face plate. I was able to force to turn on by pressing and holding the mode and am/fm buttons until it properly booted up. Read somewhere that there's some sort of loose contact in there that by pressing some buttons may turn it on. I purchase another radio online, replaced the face plate and it's working fine now. I replaced it because it came to a point where not even that brought it back to life. Good luck!
