Paradox has a pretty big grip on GSG but its honestly deserved considering how good the games actually are, when Europa Universalis 5 comes out in around a year or two it'll probably be their magnum opus too, in my opinion
1:45 If you're not sure you want to take the plunge, I can *highly* recommend the same dev's prior game Aggressors:Ancient Rome. It shares most of the mechanics of Imperiums, is cheaper, and is very replayable (I've logged 150+ hours and I've played just a small number of the available factions). I also have Imperiums but got miffed that the Rome vs. Carthage DLC is for most purposes just Aggressors in a slightly updated form.
Yeah, I have heard it is a quality title overall. I think they split from the publisher so had to move on from the game into Imperiums....not sure if I am 100% correct there but I read it somewhere I am sure - Tom
Victoria 3 is by far one of the most complexe, immersive, realistic best grand strategy game I have ever seen. I mean after the latest updates. It would definitely be in top 3. Also could mention: - Stellaris (with all DLCs on) and some immersive mods. - Total War Attila as basic platform (mods will fill in the respective desired genre you want, i.e. 1212 ad for medieval, for example) - Imperator Rome: By far one of the most realistic, immersive grand strategy game, especially playin as Rome with the mod called (Invictus)
@@welersoncarvalho2471 i agree but its more cuz I don't understand its complex economy mechanics, i will get around to learning it one day, but gonna wait until they fix the war fare
Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece is great and should have been much more popular, but it's sequel Hegemony III: Clash of the Ancients is great as well 🙂
I know Imperiums Greek Wars map is looking ugly, but the experience is rich. Field of Glory Empires can be coupled to Field of Flory II for tactic battles, and that is its main quality I think.
Dropped the ball with Field of Glory Empires. You can export your battles and play them out in Field of Glory II and then import the result back into Field of Glory Empires. Otherwise great video and definitely put some games on my radar.
Love your channel and videos! How did grand tactician: civil war not make it onto the list. I just discovered it and I absolutely love it. And I’m not even a civil war buff. It’s listed as Deck “playable” but I’ve got it running really well on the deck pretty easily.
Medieval total war 2 best grand strategy game ever made. I prefer Napoleon which is basically the same just more polished and of course they both have endless mods.
Dear LT Gaming, you highlighted 4 of my all-time favorite Grand Strategy Games: Those being Victoria I, Hearts of Iron I, Europa Universalis II, and Medieval Total War II. I have logged thousands of hours in those games as well as Rome Total War & Napoleon Total War. As I am always in the market for new Grand Strategy Games; I love your recommendations!!!! While I am not ready to upgrade to EU IV or HOI IV or Victoria II yet, I will be venturing into the other games on your list. I am surprised you didn't include a game like Napoleon's Total War or Imperial Glory. I am interested in if you have a recommendation for a good Napoleonic Europe GSG or if Napoleon Total War is that game. TIA!
Knights of Honor 1 was one of my favorites, but KoH2 really improved on everything. I've had to uninstall the game so I would stop replaying it. lol Only other grand strategy I've had to do that with is Endless Legend
thats crazy medieval 2 was the one mentioned? when u have shogun 2 or rome 2 or even atilla or empire total war!!!!! OR THREE KINGDOMS! this is nuts i mean dont get me wrong med2 stainless steel mod is the best gaming ur gonna get but man the game is almost as old as i am!
Love that this isnt just paradox games, thanks for the video

Imperiums Greek Wars is such a nice game, don't miss it if you like that genre of games 🙂
Fully agree, it is an absolute cracker - Tom

victoria 3 is shit, its anno 1800 for poor
Victoria has close to none replayability compared to other pdx games tho
Idk what about it but its just not fun for me :( not like eu4 and ck3
They cucked themselves by not letting you build units and move your navy or army around.
@@welersoncarvalho2471 i agree but its more cuz I don't understand its complex economy mechanics, i will get around to learning it one day, but gonna wait until they fix the war fare
EU4 is my fav game of all time. In the 11 years its been out I've clocked more time than all other games combined (7k)
I love Ozymandias. Highly recommend it to pass the time. A game takes maybe 20m.
It is a quality title!! - Tom
Thank you for thinking of us guys. You are amazing!
Our pleasure! We love your game!!! - Tom
Thanks for making Imperiums!
Inspired selection chaps… nicely done 🐸😎

I love all these games! Hope people connect with it!
I don’t understand how you can love this kind of game. Only numbers, just always the same thing to do. Game like civ7 are so better to play !

@@millnate1 we did discuss it! But it's gonna feature on a different list 😎
Welp, this is the ultimate list. You can't go wrong with any of these, imho. Hard to pick just one of these games, they're all so good.
Cheers buddy! Glad you think so! 😀
I wish there would be new patches or any DLCs for Knights of Honor 2 but it seems the Devs gave up.
@@henningr5323 I enjoyed it also - Luke

Great selection… well done lads 🐸❤️
Best video yet!
Thank you mate!!!!

hmm lot of older games in that list that not bad considering the state of games today
Honestly although I love Victoria 2, I think that Victoria 3 is now a more fleshed out and fun experience (without taking mods into account).
@@shuvari7707 I've been thinking of getting back into it.....might review it for 2024 - Luke
They just sell spheres of influence dlc for prize of entire game...
Bought Sphere of Influence few months ago. Need to try it
It is quite an interesting one!
Which game is shown on the top left during the intro section? Great vid btw lots of new games that got me excited
That is Age of Conquest 4, semi F2P play game, it is quite addictive - Tom
@@LTGamingTH-cam ah thanks!
age of history 3 is also coming
Yep we featured it in our Upcoming Grand Strategy vid 😀

I think I saw something on Steam that there's a Age of History 3 being developed...I might be wrong

EU4 hands down with CK3 getting the silver. HoI4 for the bronze
Not sure the others are in the same league
Imperator: Rome is easily one of the best games (with the Invictus mod). It's a great mix between CK3 and EU4 set in antiquity.
Victoria 3 is better now
Hardly.
I don't think I'll ever fully understand how to play EU4. Inattentive ADHD and paradox games aren't very compatible haha
hahah yeeeeah I can see how that might be a tough ask
It's the only paradox game I struggle to keep playing. I loved EU 3 but I just can't get into eu4. I know it's the best one tho
I would have included Age of Empires 2
How is AOE 2 a grand strategy game?
So no Imperator: Rome or Rome Total War but you put Ozymandias and Field of Glory?? Really?
Where is CiV VI?
This is a big commercial. Not much gameplay nor game photos included.
