- "I am Zina and this is my story."
Zina is the woman who speaks up about a truth that's been hidden for too long. Too many women are suffering. Let's help them and the next generation by raising awareness and fighting for women's empowerment in the Middle East and in the world.
This is my first short film. Here's the story behind it : two women sitting at a cafe - having endless lively conversations about women in the Middle East - decide to make a short film about this topic. A beautiful Jordanian woman and me. I had a flight at 8pm to return to Europe. It was 4pm when we wrote the script, before running home and shooting this film on her rooftop.
Thank you so much Raneem, for sharing some of your stories about women in your country. Thank you to all the other women who spoke up about theirs, inspiring me to make this short film.
I hope things will change soon and every girl can become a happy woman.
It’s important for me to add that this story is not shared by everyone: some women are happily married, of course!! But I would like the next generation to avoid trauma and suffering and this is why I felt the need to create this film.
