I bought a wooden carvel bout a month ago. It’s my first time so sheer panic set in when I kept finding more bits to fix. Got all bombed out wanting it all done at once and kinda stressed me out. Thanks goodness I found your channel. Your relaxed attitude and rational approach has helped me look forward to each job I have to do eventually. The haul out video a while ago really helped. Cheers
Once again your ability to invent a tool that works to solve a problem is amazing! Foam, milk carton, marker. Go figure. The barbeque is probably the only thing you haven't fixed, mainly because it's not in the beige. Stay healthy and we will see you next week.
Bbq eggs are good too. Hamburger, eggs, and aluminum foil with holes for the fat to drain out over charcoal. Or smoked tea eggs. Boats are getting ship shape. Soon you will be rock solid on both and can add the sparklies.
How do you want us to spell the word of the week? BBQ? Barbeque? Barbecue? Bar-B-Q? Barby-Q? I'll use whichever you prefer!! Lol. Love the content, keep it coming!
I saw you were in the cockpit cutting that stainless. It looks like you have a teak sole. Use that oxcalic acid to clean it up. Apply the acid to wet wood, wait 5 to 10 minutes, use a nylon brush and clean across the grain. Then hose it off. Magic!
As usual, an enjoyable boat upgrade video featuring a mystery woman, referred to but unnamed, beers, and a barbeque prominently featured at the end. I might have known the word of the week might be BBQ. The very best from the other coast.
Just learned from your answer to my comment that Geordie passed away. I am so sorry for that! Regards from Germany from an avid viewer of your series. Gives me inspiration and courage for my own project restoring a wooden motorboat from 1959.
Another excellent episode tying up loose ends. I'd also like to thank you for recommending Caitlin's channel! I have really enjoyed her videos and look forward to each new episode! It was nice seeing Lady Zephyrus manning the bow, hopefully you can talk her into being a bigger part of your channel! Cheers to you and Lady Zephyrus. May y'all enjoy many a fine BBQ on your upcoming cruise.
Another hugely enjoyable episode Peter, I did laugh when six saucepans worth of water disappeared into the ocean while priming the strainer. It's not barbecue weather here in Ireland today but your channel always brings sunshine.
Barbecue, that it easy. I have a Kamado grill, running lump charcoal. Going to flash it up tonight and inflict some serious damage onto a couple of steaks. And for those of you who have never used a real charcoal grill. Throw your propane and charcoal briquettes away, the taste difference with real charcoal is amazing. It is now pretty much requested (demanded) that dad barbecue a turkey whenever the kids show up for a visit.
I was introduced to Scotch eggs at our local Renaissance Fair back in the early 70’s. Combine those delicacies with a beautiful fall afternoon and you don’t even mind that winter is just around the corner. I used to go about 3 times a year for a decade. Your shower drain project turned out great. I would have hunted down a bottle jack and 2x4 from the drain to the overhead though and GENTLY raised the jack placed on top of the cup or caul until the proper amount of squeeze-out presented itself. No excuse to sit and stare at it while having a well earned beer with that approach though so maybe just forget it. Enjoyed as usual, Cheers
No it's not! That means you can never prime it! It should be below the water line. Just turn off the stop cock, clean it, put the top back on and open the stop cock and prime it. No brainer.
Alan Johnson It primes perfectly, every, single, start up. The bowel is 95% filled after each clean out and 100% after a normal start up. This is so you don’t have to close the seacock because so many get stuck and if you break it off your really sunk. Then there’s the guy that’s stressed and forgets to open it again. Many manufacturers mount in exactly like that. I’ve service, surveyed and placed several dozen.
I swear Peter, your sense of humor is fantastic, you make me laugh out loud! I would also swear I could be related to Ms MV Zephyrus, would blend right in to my tribe! Thanks for another great video!
Gidday from OZ, you can buy pure lanolin under the trade name "Penetrol" in Australia. Pretty cheap by the litre. It might be sold in Canada. It is a paint thinner, wood oil, rust remover, lubricant, skin conditioner and the fix for almost any problem known to humanity.
Hey buddy I was vary happy to meet you. I bought a boat at vector yacht service when you had your wooden boat out for maintenance. I was just putting it in the water that day to have it tuged over to cow bay and had it pullout of the water to bring to a friend's place to do some work on. Awesome work. Hope to see you on the water soon.
Had a neighbor do that same waterline marking trick before he hauled out with a few of the neighbors on the dock thinking he was crazy... but it worked... lol... Nice weather today so I think I'm going to really BBQ... Glad you mentioned it. :)
Put it below the waterline. Turn off the seacock, clean it out, then open the seacock to prime it. That way you will never be able to draw air into the unit and lose suction. LOL
Oh yea Fluid film is here in the states and is used from everything from coating outdrives to undercoating cars for the winter months. Super popular...
Ha! Judging by how filthy you are at the end, I can't wait to see what you accomplished during your haul out. Your work in the bilge is amazing. Some future owner will open up the sole and be absolutely stunned at how neat and safe everything is.
Scotch eggs! Haven't had or thought about Scotch eggs in years and now you're the second person in as many days to mention them. You should make them as a cooking segment so I can compare deep frying to pan frying!
I actually haven't had a chance to Barbecue yet this year. We've had a lot of rain, and I am out of gas for the grill. This lockdown continues, so it will be awhile before things start to get to normal. I hope you are well, and really enjoying the beautiful area of the world you are fortunate to live in. Regards, Solomon
You should share some favorite BBQ recipes from the boat... I'm rocking a 25' Airstream for the time being and I'm always on the lookout for some good grilling tips and tricks! Sure do miss Geordie... I know you do, too. Rick in St. Paul.
Ronald Panneton brings up an good point: does spelling count? I'll go with barbecue. Australian and other viewers will have their own take. I'm looking forward to the scotch eggs, which I've never had myself.
Hello Peter. I am seeing the great Fluid Film on several American Y.T. mechanical vids. I spray my electrical connections in the boat with it too. Expensive but great stuff. Darryl in Sooke
interesting way to establish waterline. Did you know you were going to haul it out? if you did, then could you use a laser beam to easily mark a level waterline. The bowing is due to the changing partial circumference of the side at various points that it was measured from.
Hi Peter - "Bar-b-que" is a hard word to spell. Or is it "bbq"? Scott eggs are a blast. There is many ways to fix them. Safe me one - for the time of having one. Good vid. And your boat (no pun)? Cheers.
Love your videos thanks for sharing them I Always look forward to your next one sorry about your best friend must be hard all the best Scott all and barbecue 😎👍✌️
I certainly hope with all your adventures you take time to have a nice barbecue glad the hall out has been successful keep up the good work we'll have a brand new boat when you're done that water line trick was pretty cool anyway cheers brother
Great episode Peter. Enjoyed it on my little ship this weekend..... Now could you send some of the sunshine over so I can fire up the BBQ! (see what I did there? Ha.) 🇨🇦🍻🇬🇧👍
Come on down and I'll bbq some amazing ribs! Great episode. Friday night, my ex wife had a propane explosion in her trailer. She's in critical condition at the burn unit. We lost my beloved olde English bulldog, booboo bear. She was my parent's dog at first. So hard to say goodbye.
Would love to see a follow up to the new strainer. I just installed two on my boat but wont be in the water for a couple weeks and I am interested in how they work. Love the videos!
Well, another fun filled TWG episode. I would love to be wearing my new T Shirt while cooking on my Barbeque abourd s/v Sonata one day soon! Thanks for all you do, Cheers! Mitchell
Barbara Belinda Quimby, BBQ for short, owned a barbeque that was beastly. It barely braised beef let alone baked biscuits. Had it not been for Bob and his brisket, she might have become bloated from all the bread she forced herself to brown on her BBQ. Peter, I'll stop now. Cheers. I love my shower drain pump of the same persuasion and I know you will too.
I sheared my small flock of Southdown sheep the other week, so I was covered in lanolin - does wonders for your skin & nails! Certainly not barbeque weather in the UK at the moment, last week it hitting the 80s but today it is low 40s ... enjoy your cruising
Barbecue and beer what better way to end the day

that waterline tool is genius haha
I am so happy to see that your friend appears to be getting over her camera shyness. Best to both of you
How do you want us to spell the word of the week? BBQ? Barbeque? Barbecue? Bar-B-Q? Barby-Q? I'll use whichever you prefer!! Lol.
Love the content, keep it coming!
Bar B Q, Bar B Q, there is nothing else to say... Great dinner after all the projects!!!
BBQ on a boat with a beer. Yes I am in! Looks great, always enjoy the videos.
You talked me into it......barbecue brats and beer tonight for dinner. Cheers.
Beer goes with barbecue!
I saw you were in the cockpit cutting that stainless. It looks like you have a teak sole. Use that oxcalic acid to clean it up. Apply the acid to wet wood, wait 5 to 10 minutes, use a nylon brush and clean across the grain. Then hose it off. Magic!
A Barbecue Grill on a boat would be really nice for cooking all the fish you catch.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. Get going on that boat and show us your progress!

Can't think of anything better to go with a hazy IPA than a steak cooked on the aft deck barbeque.
BBQ ribs tonight in Beautiful Buckley Bay BC
Barbecue, that it easy.
I have a Kamado grill, running lump charcoal.

Love your music. A rare thing these days.

Barbeque, barbecue... (YT comments editor likes the 2nd spelling). That soft boiled egg wrapped in bacon, breaded and deep-fried sounds AWESOME! Didn't catch the name, though.
It’s always a good idea to mount the sea strainer’s opening just above waterline.
No it's not! That means you can never prime it! It should be below the water line. Just turn off the stop cock, clean it, put the top back on and open the stop cock and prime it. No brainer.

Totally amazing min 10:12 + - the dog closed that door with his physic abilities... And a woof to u amazing one..
Barbecue is ok...Scotch eggs fantastic!
Lanolin excellent lubricant, rust preventer with a hi dielectric insulation strength and yes I’ve never seen a squeaking sheep.
ya know...with your neighbor always sublime, it reminds me of Tim the tool man Taylor and his neighbor Wilson!!!! very funny!

Always ready for a barbecue with of course the beer of the week. Cheers to you.
I like to barbeque all seasons of the year. I enjoy your videos, keep it going.
That was hilarious with the Seacock.
Peter your tricks are great along with your entertaining dialog 👍 🍷
Sika -flex now can be had in a small tube with sardine can type key - opener -applicator and much less waste!!!
Ha! Judging by how filthy you are at the end, I can't wait to see what you accomplished during your haul out. Your work in the bilge is amazing. Some future owner will open up the sole and be absolutely stunned at how neat and safe everything is.
Now that we’re opening the pubs and there will be line ups that means we will have bar b cues
I would love to see a walk around the boatyard.
Enjoy the barbecue while you are cruising!
15:40 Reminds me of Kraft Squeeze-a-snack. The original cheese in a tube. ;) Make some croquettes with your eggs too!
Where I live, it is amazingly still too cold to eat your barbecue outside, this year.
Beer and cheese, the essentials of life!
Scotch eggs! Haven't had or thought about Scotch eggs in years and now you're the second person in as many days to mention them. You should make them as a cooking segment so I can compare deep frying to pan frying!
That was almost as quick as you thought of it I bet ha ha
I’m gonna barbecue right now! Thanks for another great episode Peter!
Yep, hard to come up with any pithy using BBQ except I was just headed out to clean ours up from last night. Regards
We got to see MS MV Zephyrus again,oh man you had me laughing with that seacock open ,I was thinking something does not sound right lol
You could do a barbecue of the week
High 5 on ur bq and beer!! Plus hard stance new water line! Bonus lol
Love the water. Have to try and get over and sail those waters

Fun with the word Barbecue, I just bought an grill/Barbecue to our both today. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Sweden
Your beer would go well with a Barbeque!
Warm home made Scotch Eggs mmm!
dipped in mustarnaise (Dijon Mustard mixed with real Mayonnaise)
and an IPA!!
No room for BBQ now.
you nearly barbaqued the sea strainer lol
interesting way to establish waterline. Did you know you were going to haul it out? if you did, then could you use a laser beam to easily mark a level waterline. The bowing is due to the changing partial circumference of the side at various points that it was measured from.
Beer and barbecue go hand and hand together.
Thanks for posting and sharing. Glad to see you guys doing some interesting stuff!
Fluid Film is def available in the US - pretty much every East Coast/Rust Belt YT mechanic uses copious quantities of it.... Esp. Eric O from SMA....
Hi Peter - "Bar-b-que" is a hard word to spell. Or is it "bbq"? Scott eggs are a blast. There is many ways to fix them. Safe me one - for the time of having one. Good vid. And your boat (no pun)? Cheers.

I love a good scotched egg at a bbq especially whilst enjoying a great pale ale👍🏼
Love me a barbecue and a cold beer. Cheers!
I like one of those beers and some bar-b- Q with you setting on the back of the boat
Would love to see a follow up to the new strainer. I just installed two on my boat but wont be in the water for a couple weeks and I am interested in how they work. Love the videos!
Loved the gorgeous Battlefield Band soundtrack at lift out Peter.
Hey Peter! You need to high 5 when you barbecue!
Beautiful barbecue Peter.
Beautiful beer and bbq!
Great episode! Looking forward to see more!
I had one of those weeks as well. I was putting a boat in while you were taking one out. I'm glad to be done with my hull work for sure.
Well, another fun filled TWG episode. I would love to be wearing my new T Shirt while cooking on my Barbeque abourd s/v Sonata one day soon!
Thanks for all you do, Cheers!

BBQ and a hazey, doesn’t get much better.
Love the show!! That BBQ looks good too😁! Greetings from Groningen!!
Try adding a little black pudding to the sausage meat 😉
Though I've never tried BBQ scotch eggs
Enjoy the BBQ, well deserved after all your hard word 😎, Emma (Dublin, Ireland)
I sheared my small flock of Southdown sheep the other week, so I was covered in lanolin - does wonders for your skin & nails!
Certainly not barbeque weather in the UK at the moment, last week it hitting the 80s but today it is low 40s ... enjoy your cruising
Fantastic tune,,,,,
It's Beer:30 with Peter on board M/V Zephyrus........
Peters BBQ and Buffet...
Cheers! 👍🍺
I wanted to see the new waterline
That drain looked like a old barbaque i once had
What are you going to do with BBq? Hhhhhmmmm I'm going grill up some nice buggers and have a cold one here in lahaina Maui.
Amazing
Anytime you use Fluid Film (not a sponsor) you are supposed to play the noise of a sheep. Just saying. Yes, it's available in the States.
16:22 that word must mean something else in Canadian 😬
Bon Voyage! Will you be livestream?
