Why is it that Hooke's law is sometimes stated using the elastic limit instead of the limit of proportionality like you did in this Video. It is evident that from the limit of proportionality to the elastic limit the stress ceases to be proportional to the strain for ductile materials.
Please emphasize this point so we get to state the law the right way.

Actually upto "proportionality limit" stress variation is linear with strain......that is what actually Hook's law stated , ....but in junior classes 11th physics ...we were too young to knw all these concept ...so they told us Elastic limit
