He called Congress president Mallikarju Khadge seeking support for NDA candidate Om Birla. But Khadge wanted a government election deputy speaker from the opposition. However, the consensus could not be made on the same. Now, the election for the post of speaker will be held tomorrow. Senior Congress MP K Suresh would be the INDIA bloc's candidate for the position of speaker.
