I was lucky enough to drive one at PalmerSport a long time ago. Absolutely amazing car, getting out of one gracefully outside a country pub will take some practice!
There is a bit of a flaw with the cooling. The air goes through the radiators in the front, and then the warmed up air goes through the roof scoop in the supercharger intercooler. On a racetrack they suffer from high intake temps and can loose over 40hp.
Yeah I've seen people fitting oil coolers which drop temps quite a bit, which in turn end up giving you up to about 20+ extra bhp. Will do some more research now I have it.
Tbh after mounting my phone to the bottom right side of the windscreen I'm considering just buying a generic Bluetooth single din and binning off the android auto. I don't lose any visibility because it's lined up with the front wing and saves me the hassle of finding a unit that fits or needs modifying 😅
Contact pro alloy for a full alloy rad and top mount fans. Never had over heating problems with mine since. Survived 40degree italian heat and countless trackday without any problem.
I drove my hero, a 911 997s, 10 years back (waisted my cash and time on it). Totally disappointed, it’s just a car and meh. Drove a Elise and now have found my hero. The driving experience is so good, nothing comes close. Done 80,000 miles of total Toyota reliability. Never not been smiling in it. I never knew what my hero actually was. Congratulations. Love the passion for driving, great review.
Always wanted an Elise/Exige but could never bring myself to pull the trigger. Fair play to your missus for agreeing to another 2 seater with a baby on the way!
i had that engine in a corrolla, its class. tell you now, either or....get a striaght through back box on it, honestly coming from someone who is a car enthusiast....the exhaust sounds almost supercar like. you know how the ferrari f430 has a v8 but has that element of 4pot sound. the toyota engine is almost like that, its a 4 pot but has that element of screaming v8 if you can get the riught setup on it.... failing that, a typhoon induction kit or open cone is just biblical. propper rally car. that engine is quality...bes tsounding car ive ever had when its relinquished of its muffle....and let me tell you i currently own a c63...so thats saying something. if you want to hear clips of the vvtli send me a massage il glady show you what this thing sounded like on mine lol
Unfortunately I can't find them. Gutted. Gone forever. Try looking up Celica or corolla vvt-li sound. There's quite alot but some of them are too raspy chav mobiles. If you can find a setup with no rasp they sound phenomenal

with regards to the radios alot of companys are making single din carplay units which may be a good upgrade to get maps etc
