    Apropos the "Hug him, he's a good boy" comment;
    Hugs are a human concept. His predators will either go for the throat and bring him down or rip it out, or it's a big cat that will hug him with claws and teeth. If he wasn't raised with people AND receiving hugs on a regular basis, he's not gonna be okay with hugs.
    Had to watch this one several times to see all of Jalapeno's antics & reactions to not getting what he wants. 🤣

      Interestingly, birds do hug.
      As often seen here with Stompy, but it's rather common with Chickens, Geese, Swans and a variety of other birds too.

    I would get a bed tent to sleep outside by the donkeys and that big bird😁. That's probably why that little trailer is out there.

    ah yeah... "old fashion way" and "the good old times"... mostly with force, cause, u know, its the easiest... i realy couldnt do what u do maya, respect. all the knowledge u have. i heard the donkey ear thing and i was going so angry and pissed at those people who can do this (the industry can only grow if there is people willing todo it, let aside that buyers most of the time dont know how its made). im still very angry. i hope karma gets them

    I admire you greatly. Im sure we may not agree on everything but that doesn't negate the fact you are an amazingly well learned young woman. Its obvious you are intelligent, caring, kind, loving and generous. You're also extremely pretty. I always look forward to your varied videos.

    Hey maya how do you become like a worker at a sanctuary like this one? It’s my dream job to do this. Do you go to college or something? I wanna do this badly but I am unsure how.
    Hoping you see this. If not I’ll figure it out one day. Regardless best wishes to you and your lovely animals.

      Start at community college doing anything - they will force you to do gen eds which is mind numbing. If you really love the biology or the veterinary or therapy or conservation then chase that certification then scholarships or programs that can help you get into a bigger college ONLY if you think that's right for you. If you can't afford that be reasonable, do NOT put yourself in debt. Do not overload yourself and do not burn out. Start and finish anything to build resume, anything! Look up university extension programs, they're usually all online and sometimes even free. I graduated in IT and I have been chasing my real passions ever since, I have gotten disillusioned and resentful of almost every place I've worked. A year ago I applied for an ecology teaching job I didn't think I was qualified for, now I get paid to hike, birdwatch, survey streams for muscles and salamanders, catch and release snakes, turtles, owls, bats, work with scout groups and summer camps. They saw my passion, they could see I show up and put in the work. Research parks, sanctuaries, zoos, ranches, your local library- anywhere that you would be able to travel to regularly and be able to do an internship at, look up volunteer days for non-profits, your local animal rescues, start reaching out to people in the fields you find interesting.

      Maya has recommended in the past to volunteer at local animal shelters as a starting point! A degree helps obviously but she’s said the industry is really about experience, so the more work you’ve done with animals the better
