Okay. I'm being totally serious here and not just meme'ing. King DOES have power. And his power is LUCK. If you've seen Deadpool 2, Domino shows us that luck IS a super power. The only thing is that King's luck is more cleverly written. He and everyone else is unaware of his luck, and that just adds to the potency of it. It makes him the strongest S-rank hero by far.
If you just dismiss him by saying "Yeah, but if SAITAMA didn't arrive to save him, Garou would completely obliterate blahblahblahblah" then you're literally taking away King's power. His power is LITERALLY luck. And it's written in such a way that it fools everyone, and even the reader into thinking that he's powerless. No. When King shows up, the fight is over. Because having the power to make Saitama show up at the last second out of sheer luck DOES make him the most powerful S-rank hero.
And in that, in all seriousness, no. Garou does NOT have a chance against King.

I don’t know how pui pui prisoner is placed above metal knight on your list. It’s true we haven’t seen metal knight in battle just yet but the fact that he has such a powerful robot arsenal puts him a lot higher than what you gave him.

At this point in the manga I'm confident that blast is the only S class hero that could stand a chance against garou, I'm sure he is past tatsumaki and her incredible psychic powers at this point and he is only getting stronger

the only canon stories are the web novel written and drawn my one and the manga drawn by murata.
both of them have somewhat divergent storie lines with the manga being closer to what one had in mind when he started writing the web novel.

i love that genos is basically a real shonen proragonist.
edgy yet sad backstory that drives him to this day, unique cool design, tons of fancy named attacks and transformations, hero's heart and sacrificial nature, powers up after every fight, etc.
the problem is he showed up late, multiple fights had already happened. so he started his series underpowered and even though he still gains the power ups they only make him stronger than the previous opponent, not the next.
like if goku didnt show up til namek and tried to take on frieza without king kais training nor super sayain form. he gets destroyed, but THEN learns from king kai and unlocks super sayain...only to now have to deal with the androids and cell.
King would lose or win. His luck somehow always works out for him. This is how he avoids getting clapped. According quantum physic, physics objects have a verrrryyyyyyy tiny chance of teleporting somewhere random in the universe right. So as king is about to get punched, he would teleport out of harms way and live another day.

I believe the supposition is wrong that Garou would have fared better in a particular fight "if" he wasn't injured or weakened by previous battles. Fighting in that condition is the very thing that increases his power. Sure, after the fight he feels desperate for water, food, or rest, but during the fight he is at his peak. After his fight with Watchdog Man (for example) he was critically injured but felt no pain and had power flowing through his body at the chance to fight King. Just my opinion.

King is the second most powerful hero in the entire series. He would win. In fact, he would do it with less effort than Saitama. Saitama would likely show up just in time due to Kings luck and Garou would never touch King and Saitama would do all the heavy lifting.

Okay tbh I think Garou can beat all of them on a 1v1 (I'm not sure about blast) because he always unintentionally holds back against people, if he was out to kill he'll be much more efficient at taking them down, but even without that I doubt they can manage to take him down without him evolving and getting stronger. His only real weakness is that he holds back, but that's also his strength because he keeps his humanity.

I think the only two S class heroes he couldn't beat if he didn't hold back would be Zombieman and Blast. Zombieman has nearly broken his limiter on regeneration and while Garou is strong and extremely technical fighter, I don't think he has the correct type of attack potency to make sure Zombieman doesn't just regenerate back. He may have that ability here shortly though we haven't seen what is in store over the next few issues.

lmao @ citing Atomic Samurai being in his 30s as reason for having "less stamina". That's...not how biology works. Stamina has a lot more to do with body conditioning than age - there are people in their 90s running marathons and people who are 18 who can't run one mile. I'm in my 30s and I can 100% guarantee you that I have a LOT more strength and endurance *now* - well into my 30s - than I ever had at 18 or 19. Let's put it this way: I could barely run a mile in 10 minutes back then and felt like dying afterward and I struggled to benchpress over 150 lbs. Now, late 30s? I've run 2 or 3 miles at a time for fun and hit an average pace of between 6 and 7 minutes while being able to get close to a 5 minute mile if I want to. I am also a lot stronger - about twice as strong as I was back then, in fact. Back then, I thought a 50 lb dumbbell was a heavy thing to lift overhead with one hand. Now? That's child's play. I've gotten 120 up, one-handed, within the last year and regularly do 70 to 90 lb one-handed overhead presses for reps. I remember even at 24, 25 struggling to even get 3 sets of 8 curls with a 50 lb dumbbell - I'd make it to 8, then struggle to hit 5 the next set. Now? 70-80 lbs per hand is easy for 4 sets of 8 to 10 reps, and I don't feel exhausted. Age 18, how many pullups could I do? Maybe 5 to 8. Now? I typically do sets of 20 and have hit 25 before within the last year, at a body weight of 210 lbs vs the 155 to 160 lbs (I was scrawny) I weighed in at age 17 or 18.
My point is...30s is not even close to old enough to somehow suffer enormous losses in stamina or strength. Of course, I have good genetics and a strong build - once I filled out in my early 20s and my skeletal structure got larger, I found it easy to gain muscle and strength. When I decided to take it seriously, I pretty quickly started closing in on a 315 lb benchpress (keep in mind, age 18, still not fully developed, scrawny, biceps the size of my current wrists, I could barely hit a 145 benchpress for 1 rep with terrible form). If anything, I got a LOT stronger in my mid to late 20s very quickly. My next goal is to break the 400 lb mark on bench and 150 lbs overhead dumbbell press (which with a barbell using both hands would be 300 lbs). At age 18 I couldn't even IMAGINE doing that - because I was far weaker at that age. Men hit their physical prime IN their 30s, not at age 18 or 19. The peak usually happens around age 35 with SOME declines in the mid 40s and beyond depending largely on current fitness level, genetics and lifestyle. In terms of my genetics, I am descended from a champion power lifter who could - at a body weight of 170 lbs - clean and jerk 200 lbs either hand, which for his size and it being the early 20th century is a pretty crazy feat, one-handed. For perspective, the World's Strongest Man competitors - guys who are often 6'6" and 350+ lbs - do the same thing with 250 to 300 lb circus dumbbells and these are some of the strongest guys on the PLANET we're talking about and they are, on average, TWICE the weight of my great grandfather and have access to far better nutrition, more protein, pre-workouts, creatine and so on. My Great Grandfather was just a little 5'8", 170 lb Estonian man with ridiculous strength for his size. And I take after him (except that I'm a lot bigger). So, I aim to hit that level eventually. For the record, he was able to do that around age 40.
Sooo random thought I had, Saitama is a full monster who retained his human form. We know when people eat monster cells they become monsters and we know Saitama has been using monsters as food stock, what we don't know is how long he's been doing it for......

Thoughts on how powerful King would be, if he got his hands on a remote-controlled robot that came complete with a remote VR headset? I had this really ridiculous idea, where King gets his hand on a (knowing him) anime bunnygirl "Princess" bot that he could manipulate with one of the latest gaming controllers. The VR headset would let him see everything through her eyes, and it could even come with its own microphone, so that she can "say" whatever he says, albeit in a schoolgirl voice. Fake backstory can label her as King's "apprentice," or something.

While most monsters would likely take this opportunity to rejoice, it seems like a previously unheard of apprentice of King's, named "Bunny Angel: Princess," has managed to take up King's mantle of "Heroes' Hero."
To that extent, she has already defeated over a dozen Demon-level monsters this week alone, and has even managed to slay a few Dragon-level monsters, with a strength that could only come from being apprenticed to the Strongest Man on Earth.
Nobody knows who she is under that mysterious helmet she wears, or where she came from, but we're all glad that she's just as courageous and strong as the now-retired King.
