    Gotta try a C8 there now!
    We took one to VIR recently, all stock no track alignment. Impressive car, you can feel the mid engine… and electronic things helping it too. Honestly felt very tame for the power, more chassis than power.
    A mildly prepped C5 Z06 with tires is significantly more fun though :)

      I watched a C5 Z06 beating up on built GTR’s and a full race car Lancer Evo 10. Every lap they would pass the Z06 on the straight but when they came around again the Z06 was back in the lead. I spoke to the guy and he said he could dive much deeper into the turns than the GTR’s. All he had was headers, exhaust and tune for the engine, and an aftermarket leaf spring with bilstein shocks with slicks for the rest.

    i've never practiced, only theorized it, but would you be able to rotate better on your turn if you double-pedaled the gas? lose down force, re-apply downforce? Just to get the rear rotating to assist the late apexing and trail braking?

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use abrupt throttle to transfer weight but I prefer coming in hard on brakes with a little flick to get it rotating, then feed in throttle to maintain. The fronts were overheated from the hot laps and that's why I was struggling to get it to slide after that. Morning session on cool tires it was really an issue.

    • @Flod_01
      @Flod_01 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Race mode in PTM is the last mode to select and everything off. There is no “track” or anything after that. It’s already in Track mode before entering the PTM modes. If a car hits the rev limiter cause you shift to late. And you do it again and again who's fault is that? I raced a a8 car competitively and cannot wrap my head around how people can't figure out to hit the paddle a little sooner. You can get it to shift at redline every time very easy. Also I've never seen anyone go truly fast by over heating tires so much. Why are you plowing through so hard? It's okay to have some noise coming from tires but you're putting so much heat in the front your probably a full second off what that cars capable of. The car doesn't understeer you under steer.

    • @TheSlipAngle
      @TheSlipAngle  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seeing that I'd never driven with a gearbox like this it's not intuitive to assume you need to account for a delay in the time you hit the paddle to the time the transmission actually executes the shift. This tight diggy corner track really puts a lot of load on the fronts and if they are not up to the task like the stock run-flats that were on this car, they are going to over heat. Noise is irrelevant as every tire emits different levels of noise based on the compound. With a big stagger, stock alignment, these cars are setup to understeer so knuckleheads don't spin out and hop curbs. Whatever was going on with the power delivery wasn't helping either. Whether that was traction control or something going on with the ECU, it was not delivering power when I was asking for it. Thank you for watching and for your valuable insight. Cheers
