- On my early morning Goldwing ride I raised the question, since most biker rallies are geared toward Harley, will you ride your Goldwing to a Harley Davidison Biker Rally? Whats your thoughts.

Been a Goldwing rider since ‘81. Now the DCT Tourer. Shortly after the DCT Tourer in 2018, I had a HD CVO ultra glide. Just to impress the masses. Still, that CVO was loud, ok looking, uncomfortable as hell, vibrated and shook everything loose. No kidding, it shook the locks out of the bag. I really disliked that CVO. Kept it a year, mostly in the garage. It’s not near as nimble and nice as the DCT Tourer. To tell you the truth, I get more compliments on the DCT. That CVO was more geared to the culture of the boring image. HD riders kind of remind me of Dallas Cowboy fans. Americas Team. You ain’t American if you ain’t a Cowboy fan. That just proves your an idiot to be a Cowboy fan. You’re an idiot to be a HD rider. There is nothing more comfortable, nothing more dependable than the Goldwing. I’m not trashing HD riders, I love they are there, I love they ride, I respect their culture as they all exactly like Cowboy fans. They will never wake up to the fact that when it comes to comfort and dependability, the Goldwing is King. Without exception, and we as Goldwing riders like the little minded, single minded HD riders. There are many that follow the people, but only Kings are smart enough to know what rules in the Motorcycle world, it’s absolutely the Goldwing and Chris, I followed the king of the wing for several years and and I appreciate all you do for the Goldwing world. You ARE the king of the wing. The most luxurious, most dependable, most comfortable motorcycle in the world. Ride on brother, ride on…
Ps: at least I nominate Caliente KING… Somebody 2nd that motion… Caliente IS KING of the wing… without a doubt.

I can see how smart you are. You call us idiots for riding a Harley. And then two lines down you're saying you're not bashing Harley Riders. I never heard any Harley Rider bash Goldwing Riders like you just did.
I've had my Harley Electra Glide for 12 years and I've put 108,000 miles on it. I had a Honda Goldwing six-year before that and I guarantee you I'll never go back.
The group of guys I ride with our on Harley's, Hondas, Yamaha Kawasakis,spiders and slingshots we don't care what you ride we just ride and have a great time together.
In all my years of riding I've never heard anybody on a Harley putting down somebody on a Goldwing. But just like you I've heard Goldwing Riders slamming Harleys Riders.
Before you go calling somebody else an idiot maybe you better take a good look in the mirror.
As far as the football goes I have never been interested in football, baseball or basketball but I don't think people are idiots that are interested.

I went to the Harley Davidson 100th anniversary with my friend. He took his Road King and I took a 1983 Honda Goldwing standard. He said I was gonna get a beat down taking my Honda to the Harley Davidson big bash. I said they will love it and I was right. Nobody said anything about his Road King and I was always getting compliments about the Goldwing, the Goldwing.
Everyone loves a Honda!
That is because you won't find anybody riding a 1983 Harley-Davidson they don't last that long.
Chris, I just became a 2023 DCT tour owner. Best machine I ever owned. I’ve owned several Hondas. I’ll name her the Wing Thing! LOL all roads lead to the goldwing!

I’m in a club. I’m the only GW rider in a sea of HD’s and A few Indians. So, yes I would ride to an HD event on my wing.
Like you said Chris in a hurry to go nowhere! Still on the 2004 GL 1800 got about 82500 miles on it. I like the older model and love that 2016! As we say here in NC Look out for them cause they ain't looking for you. God speed and keep posting you got me viewing all the time. And yes I do ride to work too... get it in when you can!

I’ve been to Sturgis twice - once on a Harley and once on a GL1500 . I had a great time on the Goldwing. People don’t care what you ride .

Stopped it at 10:55 to read comments and that is looking very cool, gave the video a thumbs up and number turned to 100 that there means a lot to me don't know what maybe good luck on up coming riding season on my 99 Honda Valkyrie bagger that is only 1.5 yrs old that I have her. Been in the deep freeze but when it gets to the fifties for a while we'll put the battery back in and crank that beautiful bad bitch up, came with six into six cobra pipes maybe they haven't seen me yet but they sure as hear me, glass blew out before I got the bike 70 mph good enough if she wants to creep up to 72,73 OK it's the rpms would like 6th gear, this old girl is so beautiful, thanks for sharing your ride

i absolutel like going to the rallys they have more vendors to look at and i like to look at all the bikes and i do some of the charity rides
when im there i explore roads and the area. i plan on attending laconia this year i have nine routes planed out on my garmin

It’s your content, your off-the-cuff truth speak on life and motorcycling all tied around the Gold Wing and a deep passion for it that makes this channel special. most HD riders I know don't care what you ride, have a good attitude, be respectful to others, and just be a good human... one of my friends took my '84 wing for a short ride and said he would get a Goldwing if he was looking for a new ride - he has 3 HDs so it will not be any time soon -
as for Harley video bloggers, I think most of them are showing repair videos and isn't there is always something to fix on them ( ok that was a joke ) but there are more people fixing and adding accessories for HD than Honda.

Hey Chris, great video and love that you’re riding your older generation Goldwing. I have a 2014 and enjoy every mile that my wife and I ride.
I have several friends I ride with and all of them are on Harleys. Like you I enjoy the ride and the destination usually ends up being just the place that I start my next ride from.
The few times I’ve joined a Harley group ride or event I’ve felt welcomed and included…they have a great culture!

Chris, nice vid as usual. I like that you’re getting your riding in most riders wait for perfect weather conditions. Your 16 GW always looks sharp with all the lights for visibility. My thoughts are!!!! Know one drives a car blind however, but drivers drive and can’t hear very well.
Nowadays cars are made almost sound proof and when the rider turns up their music and play on their phones, look out!
I always said that when I got really old I would get a Harley, well I did, when I turned 60 three years ago, a lovely 1994, last of the Evos, low rider custom, but the guy I bought it from missed it so much that I had to let him have it back, I was told that he was pining for it, so I got to ride a Harley for a few months. But I would never sell my Goldwing (1800, 2004) best bike I ever owned.
All roads will eventually lead back to be Goldwing
Heck yeah! I will be at Bikes Blues & BBQ and Steel Horse on either the Wing or the MT-09. Will more than likely take the Wing to Steel Horse in Fort Smith a short I-40 rip. Then the MT-09 Hooligan bike to BB&BBQ and rip the twistys up. Health issues have shrunk my traveling distance down for now. But ride I will. Never any issues with Harley riders, 1%er's. They a have a culture! Always a good time!

The Americade bike rally in New York is a touring motorcycle rally and mostly Goldwings.
You can ride your Goldwing to motorcycle rallies I see them there, no one cares.
I ride an Electra Glide I subscribed to your channel two or three years ago.

Loud pipes saves lives. I'm not so sure about that. Your relying on someone, who cant see you, hearing you. I dont think so. I'm practicing my skill to better my skill level and using that to either keep me out of bad situations or get me thru one safely. Ride safe everyone.
Newer cars are almost soundproof, good observation!
Do loud pipes save lives?
The answer is a firm NO. In some instances a car driver may indeed notice you, such as when you're riding next to a car which has the driver's side window down. Situations like this one are extremely rare. Most dangers to motorcyclists come from the front, where your loud exhaust can't be heard; the sound waves from the exhaust pipe(s) propagate backward. The driver of that car about to make a left turn in front of you (by far the largest cause of motorcycling deaths) simply will not hear you. Think about it: picture yourself in a car, with the windows up, the A/C (or heat) on, and the radio at a comfortable level. Just how much outside noise do you think YOU hear? Especially the noise traveling away from you, where only the few sound waves that bounce back are even capable of being heard in the first place...
How loud exhaust can actually be dangerous to you
Research has shown that the biggest cause of fatigue on long rides is noise. Noise from your own bike will tire you out faster, dulling your senses and thus increasing the risk of an accident - precisely the thing that you were trying to avoid in the first place.
Have you ever thought about how annoying the loud pipes are to the car drivers around you? Especially to the ones who have to follow you for miles in dense traffic? While it has never been proven, it is possible that noise from your motorcycle makes car drivers irritated, angry, more aggressive, and thus more dangerous to you.

No specific event yet for me Chris.. But if my hips stop hurting i plan on Seattle to Orlando.. For my 5th time... Kind of depends what the weather is doing across the Midwest... You know is looking to kill bikers or is it just raining
