I used my credit card insurance to get back $$ from a canceled cruise due to having breast cancer treatment. Finished treatment now. Got a B2B booked in November . Going to make the best of life. ❤
Congratulations on finishing your treatments . Go and have a blast on your cruise in Nov .
Great that you have finished. Take life and enjoy every minute of it and have great cruises in Nov!
Hi Barbara! I am so thankful that you have finished your treatment. Such great news! I hope you have a wonderful B2B in November!
Great information as usual. We are in Clearwater (directly west of Tampa); we appreciate your prayers more than you know! The best meteorologist in Florida is Denis Phillips-during weather crises he updates hourly and tells us not to freak out until he tells us to freak out. He has a very thorough hurricane preparation list. He is so accurate that it is astounding. Thanks again for your prayers!
Hi Doodie! I have definitely had you and your family in mind for both Hurricane Milton and Helene. Praying for you! We appreciate you so much!
Prayers for Florida!! 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Steve! Yes! 🙏
B. Thankfully. Saying a prayer for Florida, and my fellow cruise enthusiasts. 🙏
Yes! 🙏 I appreciate you!
Will be on Vista on Sunday. Flying into Orlando on Saturday.
Praying for everyone especially on Florida's west coast.
Yes. With Allianz. We were stranded in Miami after a cruise in December 2022.
Due to bad weather we had to stay 2 additional days at our hotel and finally got a flight home on Christmas Day. They covered a rental car, a the extra hotel days. We had our payment within 4 days. Very easy to work with.
A Yes. I had to cancel a cruise 4 days before sailing because of a flareup of a pre existing condition. Carnival's insurance, AON, paid me a full refund, including my independently booked airfare. filled out one form and one from my doctor, Check came within 2 weeks, no hassle.
A -once we returned to Ft Lauderdale only to find out that Atl airport was closed due to ice. We checked into a hotel... bags were still at the airport..so no change of clothes.... we had changed our return flight to the next day. But that evening we got a text that the flight was cancelled and the earliest they could get on a flight was in another 2 days min. So we decided to rent a car and drive to a friends house in Orlando and on to home the next day. When we got home..it dawned on me that travel insurance might cover some of the costs... they covered the hotel... dinner.. car rental and cost of a few clothing items we needed... The experience was simple and quick.
It looked as you went with a good travel insurance company. Could you share with us that insurance company name, please?
@@CL-mp4vn it was Allianz
You are always on top of the cruise FYI there are no words to let you know how much that means to people who travel cruise or other ways. Thank you for all you do to look out for us!!!!! You are truly appreciated! 😍
Hi Cindy! Your comment made my day! Thank you so much for your kindness!!
Everyone also needs to anticipate the possibility that hotels may be filled. Be sure to check if your reservation is still in place.
A - My wife caught Covid, and we had to cancel a trip. 100% reimbursement, so well worth the cost of the insurance!
Presently on the Serenade, out of Tampa yesterday. We just made a record time to Cozumel in just 23 hours. Then at 4 PM today, our captain announced that the port of Cozumel is now closed. Jason, you need to know that Tampa could be closed when we are due to arrive back in Tampa on Friday, and I guess that we will not arrive on Friday, as planned.
Hi Rick! Yeah, I agree. I think Wednesday and Thursday will certainly disrupt many of the Florida cruise ports and airports. Then, depending on the damage and time needed for assessment to reopen.... I believe there could potentially be further disruption into Friday. You are right. Be safe my Friend!
We are heading to Coco Cay, ship is rocking and the wind is blowing but not that bad.
Good! Be safe and have a great time!
Great reporting. Lots of important info. 👍
Hi Susan! Thank you so much!
Don't forget airport closures. Mco is closed on Wednesday
Was just going to say the same plus Tampa closed as well
Sarasota and Tampa are closing Tuesday.
In Central Florida, waiting for whatever comes our way. Prayers to our Floridian neighbors.
A - Yes, Jan 2024 I had a respiratory event on Day 2 of cruise which caused a doctor's visit with the ship's doctor, and later that same day my husband had to be put in ICU for AFIB. We had to put $8,500+ on a credit card which hit our credit card balance before exiting the ship, but thank God we had Travel Insurance!! It took a few months for our health insurance to deny most of the bills, but that was required before the Travel Insurance would accept the claim. But then within a week of the denial, the Travel Insurance paid in full! 100% covered.
yes , my wife broke her hip on a cruise excursion , we were glad we had travel insurance to cover the surgery
We're currently on Enchantment, we've already felt Milton to a degree and are due to head back to tampa on Saturday, my heart is with you Florida 💕
B. Sending Prayers to all Florida people. 🙏🙏
A - We would never travel without insurance. You never know what might come up. Although you may not recoup all your money, getting some back is nice.
We’re headed to Orlando on Friday for a cruise that leaves Sunday. Hoping no issues since it will be a few days after landfall. Praying everyone is safe.
Hi Haley! That's great. Yeah, I hope everything is cleared out for you and back to normal operations. I hope you and the family have a terrific cruise!
Thank you, for going down the OMG insurance cover. It is a omg mine field. But health over all is my play on it, even if I have to take a hit. Going by passed events.
B Not yet… We are currently hunkered down in central Florida in a rental home waiting on Milton to come ashore. We arrived from East TN just after Helene…🤷🏼♂️😂
Hope everyone will be ok, best wishes from the uk.
Yes on using travel insurance benefits. Covid cancelled our trip. It was still a covered reason back then.
Excellent video I learnt a lot wow!! Also A yes I have used travel insurance when on a cruise my suitcase with my dress clothes was lost and the insurance company was awesome and they also found my luggage and sent to another port and it was kindly delivered to my cabin
Prayers to all in the path of this crazy hurricane
Cheers and love from Canada 🇨🇦
Hi PinknBling! Thank you so much. And, I am so glad that your travel insurance situation worked out well. I appreciate your kindness. I hope you have a great day!
We have done a claim as I had to have emergency surgery a few days before our cruise and it was so easy and they were so nice to my husband. Got every penny back.
We are flying into JFK on Friday, cruising on Monday. Hopefully everything will go smoothly.
Prayers to all those that will be affected in Florida.
Praying Protection over all affected 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Always have it but happy I’ve never had to use
Hi Denise! Yes, that's great!
Yes missed a cruise on Carnival a few yrs back.
Our departure was out of Chicago in January. Major snow storm no flights out for 2-3 days. Carnival insurance reimbursed us.
A. Yes We had a flight cancelled. We don't live in a metropolitan area and that was the only flight offered that day to Florida. The flight was cancelled due to weather at the departing airport to come to our airport. I received a text from the airline. Saved a screenshot and submitted that as part of our insurance claim. The insurance company had to verify the airline cancellation was due to weather. Did so and received 100% refund of our cruise.
May God bless Florida prayers up 🥰🙏
Needed review of travel information is needed with all these storms! B - No, I’m thankful I’ve never had to do a travel insurance claim . Thankful for sharing
That's why you cruise between November and May.
Morning Jason. Just wanted to say we here in Florida are bracing for impact. I’m in Fort Myers and we are on the “dirty side” it’s never good especially on the storm surge side. God’s grace to all impacted this week and the last few weeks. 🙏 🙏
Just canceled my husbands flight out of Sarasota for Wednesday. Southwest gave us a full price voucher and a 14 day window to rebook at the same price we paid.
Hi Beth! Yeah, I think that is great that airlines have started giving the waivers. Appreciate you. Be safe!
Sarasota airport is closed on Wednesday.
@@TheTravelScouts Thanks. You usually have to jump through hoops to get money back. I think all airlines should do that.
Yes, I've had to make a claim twice on my annual Allianz policy-once due to a flight delay and once due to a cancellation. Both times, I had no issues whatsoever getting paid.
Yes. I came down with covid 48 hours prior to sailing. My travel agent took care of the filing, and I was reimbursed for the cruise, shore excursions, and restaurant package. I did not get reimbursed for the flight and hotel because that was a special deal that was nonrefundable.
Yes, and it is quite the process!
A Yes. At least three times health issues have canceled our trips, requiring us to make travel insurance claims. The process is a hassle, but we always got our money back.
B Two takeaways. #1: Read the fine print on your insurance, then read it again. #2: Communicate. Keep your travel insurance rep in the loop. Text and email communications can be used as evidence.
A - They had to tow the Carnival Glory back to New Orleans. We were about 6 hours late. The insurance covered our change of flights and Carnival gave us $200 credit each. Praying for the people in Florida. We are heading the west coast for a cruise Friday. We have had it booked for months, just lucked out it wasn't out of Florida.
You guys do an absolutely excellent job! Thank you
A- Yes- Two years ago, after a cruise from Amsterdam to Norway and back, we had train tickets to Paris. We had a few day tours in Paris scheduled. The trains went on a sudden strike. The next 3 days were sold out on the trains. We wound up flying home the next day. We were covered under insurance due to trip interrupted. We always get good trip insurance.
YES - twice. Both times for hurricanes. It’s scary being stuck somewhere a hurricane is going to hit because you can’t get out. No flights out. Rental cars/Amtrak/even busses sell out. I live in an east coastal area and we have hurricane plans we do all the time, but being stuck somewhere you can’t get out of is awful!
Son and Grandson on are a "guys" week getaway on RC . Due back to Tampa on Saturday. Grandson lives in Tampa. Hope he has a car and apartment when he gets back. Scouts Out.
Hi Friend! Yeah, it sounds like Tampa will take the brunt. I am glad they will personally be safe. I hope their house, car, etc. make it without damage as well. Appreciate you!
Yes last year. I had 2 emergency surgeries and was in a hospital in Iceland for 18 days
Thanks Jason! Great info!
Hi Jeffrey! Thank you so much my Friend!
B - I have annual insurance since we cruise often. Thankfully, we’ve never had to use it.
Your information is in c credible. Thank you
Hi Randy! Thank you so much!
Yes, I'm currently going through that now. Had a severe accident in the middle of september and had to cancel my trip .
Yes my flight was delayed 3 hours going to Sandals
Thanks for being so informative
A we did have to file a insurance claim twice… Once when my father-in-law unfortunately passed away the day before our cruise and the second time when we received a phone call after being on the cruise only one day that our 29 month old granddaughter was diagnosed with leukemia🙏🏻🎗️🙏🏻
Praying for all those in the path and those affected by hurricane Milton 🙏🏻
A - Ues. We live in Florida and were unable to get to Miami for our cruise after Irma in 2017. Our cruise was on carnival and our insurance was purchased through carnival. Had no problems getting a refund from the insurance company.
Yes, I used my trip insurance back in 2017 because of Hurricane Irma. I used it for having to cancel my Miami Beach hotel reservations (3 nights pre-cruise). I got the money back Thank God. However my Carnival Vista 8 day out of Miami was shortened to 4 nights, 5 days and I went and had a great time. Everone be safe.
Thanks, Jason, for the information. Please stay safe and alert as well. Never had to make clain.
Good info-thx
A - YES. We've filed 2 claims for dr visits on 2 different cruise line. We were reimbursed on both but not the complete full amount. BTW, we have yearly travel insurance cause we travel so much. It covers land and water travel.
Not yet..1st time I traveled during hurricane season.. I leave October 13th
B - fortunately no, a great video on a topic not many people really know anything about. Safe travels.
Be safe prayers to all of you in Florida.
A... yes. We have had to file claims with our travel insurance, Travelguard, on a few occasions for flight delays and cancelations and once for missed ports and reimbursements of third party shore excursions. They have always been wonderful and with proper documentation, we have been reimbursed within a couple of weeks each time without question. We are very happy with our annual travel insurance plan through Travelguard and given how frequently we cruise, and travel in our RV, we would never consider leaving home without travel insurance coverage.
B . Have not encountered any problems on my travels, fingers crossed.lol. Great job ..
A. Had to cancel for heart surgery. Insurance paid all out of pocket expense.
I have a cruise in Galveston, tx, on the 26th. Hopefully, no other storm forms
Now it is being projected by models to be a Cat 4 or 5 when it hits. We left out of Tampa last week. We were delayed by one day.
A. Had to submit death certificate for person who was suppose to take the cruise with me. Full refunds received 5 weeks later.
A; just once in our 20+ years of cruising and I'm damn glad we had it too.
A we have during Covid. We were staying on the ship in Alaska due to my hubby having to quarantine. We had to reschedule our flights and had expenses due to having covid and being on the ship for another 7 days
Thoughts and prayers for all already affected and those that will be affected yet again!😢
"A"-Yes. Went very smooth since we had all of the proper medical paperwork they required.
I'm on the carnival Paradise and we had to port change from Cozumel to Costa Maya
B. No, safe journey for those traveling and be safe for those living in the path of Hurricane Milton.
Thank you for info.
Thanks Pamela!
A- just a small one. Went to ships Dr, got the cost plus cost for meds back.
A yes I have. Major storm impacted us getting home from cruise. Thank God we had insurance. Canceled flights, hotel and food covered.
What insurance may I ask?
@@chirstinegarcia8866 Allianz travel insurance
Be safe in your upcoming travels to Florida. We are scheduled to drive to Panama City Wednesday. We may have to delay it a day.
We are supposed to be sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday with RCCL on the Freedom. We have cruise insurance thankfully if it gets cancelled.
B in 26 cruises I have sailed with insurance I never had to file a claim thankfully!
Yes in May I had pneumonia so I had to cancel my cruise but I always get insurance so I got my money back for another cruise.
A. The day I was to cruise I was rushed to the ERA and admitted to the hospital. I was reimbursed 100% after filing the appropriate paperwork.
Theoretically scheduled to sail out of Tampa on Sunday.
When I first started cruising over 30 years ago Princess did not go to the Caribbean end of June thru November because of weather.
On Sun Princess just waiting and hoping to get off Friday
A- flight cancelled. We had to change airports and use an Uber. Our travel insurance covered it 100%.
Prayers for Florida.
A: claim was regarding lost luggage. The insurance company surprisingly compensated in a timely manner descent. Nothing like this. Prayers to everyone in the path of the storm.
Prayers for Florida
Remember this. When arriving in an area that has been through a hurricane. Utilities, grocery stores, stoplights, and basic utilities will be difficult or nonexistent.
Tampa has already said the airport will close tomorrow morning. Clearwater will close when the last plane comes in Tuesday night.
A - YES! And more than once. We travel quite a bit, so we buy a yearly travel insurance policy. It barely costs more than buying a policy for a single trip, and it has paid off! We've experienced twice that filing a claim for a single event has reimbursed us more than the cost of the insurance purchase. We would never travel without it again.
A - yes earlier this year we both got Covid two days before due to sail from Sydney. Celebrity gave us full refund after receiving Medical certificates. Not so airline (flying to Sydney from New Zealand)so we claimed on our travel insurance. Ended up $40 out of pocket for prepaid shuttle from airport to hotel.
oh man, that's so sad! i hope you got to reschedule that trip!
Great information!
A - Yes, i have completed a cruise travel insurance claim.
We're right in the path currently. Luckily, I'm about 8-9 miles inland.
Answer: B Happily!😊
