HER FATHER TAUGHT ME ACTING IN ACTORS STUDIO...BUT SORRY GUYS...SUSAN DID NOT INHERIT HER DADS TALENT..SHE LOOKS FINE BUT CANNOT ACT IT WAS WELL KNOWN IN "THE Biz'
Yes and Marylin Monroe left everything to Lee Strasberg and his wife in her will. Then Strasberg's wife died and he remarried. Then he passed away and everything, I mean everything, was left to her. So a stranger now inherits all of Marylin's' merchandise etc. By the by Marylin gave Susan Strasberg her pearls. Marylin took them off her neck and put them on Susan's neck. I'm surprised she is not wearing them.
Jennifer Strasberg: She was only 25 years old in this episode. She actually made me laugh out loud @ 4:50 when she said,"My bad acting". :) Did she ever talk about her time on this show? She was a good contestant
Always liked Bill Cullen. He was one of the 5 presenters on NBC`s `Emphasis` show for which I was hired as PA. Other presenters include Barbara Walters, Arlene Francis, Frank Blair and Dr. Joyce Brothers.
I wouldn't be surprised if in later years (well, I remember as a kid in the late 60s) "Fisherman'sss?" Could have worked as a 1st clue as Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco became and I think is still a world renowned iconic tourist destination.
Respectfully, it's really strange how both contestants didn't really add up the clues for "Bashful." On top of that, I would think back in 1963, Snow White and the 7 Dwarves - both the story and the film - would have been more known and popular than it is now in 2020.
Disney's snow white was released 25 years before this show was filmed and there was no home video.. you saw a film in the theater, when it was showing, or you didn't see it. Maybe once in a blue moon they might replay an older film during a matinee. And that contestant probably wasn't even 1 year old when that film was released. Not to mention I doubt Snow White wasn't exactly typical fare for boys during the post depression-WW2-post war years.
@@maxdecphoenix The seven dwarfs were known throughout American culture at that time, and the male contestant even recognized that they were being referred to.
At 11:04, Allen messed up royally. Not only did he give the password to the contestants rather than the celebrities, but he started withe the wrong side. (Bill Cullen had just successfully guessed "mathematics.") Yes, I know Allen had help getting it wrong because he has lights on his podium to direct him.
I'm sure the rest of America were shouting at the TV as well but for "Paste" I guess it almost goes without saying "Tooooth?..." And I was thinking for "Mate" maybe adding "First..." (along with the other nautical clues).
Can't BELIEVE how long it took to solve bashful! I was just starting to have a panic attack 😮. Since I'm only as old as these shows, I'm not familiar with Susan, but she certainly is a honey. Bill and his partner Pat were on fire 🔥 until nearly extinguishing themselves in the 🌩 round
yes but he blew my winning streak as a contestant on match game..wish the could find my act with Paul Lynde we were hilarious so much so that Allen Ludden said " In 14. years i never lost control of the show until i introduced debbie k to paul lynde"..we were getting clues in one shot like mental telepathy..such fun but due to his then heavy drinking Paul was not popular with th producers pity such a talent he was..
That's strange (Ambient Relaxing and Healing Music being cheekily says…) For "Depot" all Susan had to do was go maybe 1 or more likely 2 dozen years into the future and give as a clue, "Home...?" :-)
It's so close it almost seems like it wouldn't be allowed, but, for "Invention" I would have said with kind of that "well let's take a stab at this" kind of face and spoke the clue "Innovation?……" (In that invention and innovation do not contain any single words in either the clue or the password, it would be an acceptable clue).
Maybe for "Lesson" clues could include, "Fable" and maybe "Moral" and add in "Story" (in that cluster of clues…) Oh!... maybe even add "Fairytale." No guarantee but another tack could have been repeating the (great) clue, "Tennis?…" (Oh, and then adding the word "INSTRUCTION" :-)
Miss Strasberg is like a less formal Natalie Portman. And Bill, as always, is the man. A fucking cripple yet still rises to his feet to introduce himself to his partners and help them with their chairs.

Always loved this show. Thank you.
I found Allen ludden to be a reassuring presence of the tv
Susan Strasberg is a highly overlooked Hollywood beauty IMO. I find her quite flawless and graceful.
She was wonderful. I've had a crush on her ever since "Toma"!

Susan Strasberg's father was famed acting teacher Lee Strassberg.

Piano or violin lesson
Instruction, school,

What about “Lecture”?

But her demeanour is more natural, less "mannered" ...
which is charming.

Trivia - Susan inherited Marilyn Monroe's Mikimoto pearls
13:48 “i hope betty didn’t hear that” 22:10 “nice name” - referring to the contestants name being betty which is his wife, betty white’s, name

When the contestant wins a round,I wonder if the celebrity partner hates it when they're touched or manhandled by their partner.
I'm sure if they were I would believe the show would tell the contestants to not touch
This was not the early 21st (hypersensitive) century. Some of the celebrities do likewise.
So, don't you think it interesting that Password seemed to have no problem getting male contestants, while years later Super Password ...
