Fun fact: it apeears that Star Wars AT AT were inspired by Paraceratherium. Also, don't quote me on this one, I think I remember some Para-like beasts in the prequel trilogy (I think it was "ronto" or something).
So one of the neat things that I've seen when it comes to Paraceratherium and the other indricotheres (Which is still the family name despite Indricotherium's status) are those large tusks they pointed out. In modern rhinos, they're very similar to the Indian Rhinoceros's set of tusks, which they use more than their horn as a defensive mechanism. So there's a good chance that if there was anything threatening a young or an adult, they'd bite them on top of trampling them with their large size!
THIS WAS A W VIDEO TO SEE, heck yeah, I would maybe in the future love to see the many interpretations of albertosaurus in media, if you’re ever thinking on doing more tyrannosaurids🔥
A few interpretations of Paraceratherium that I’m aware of are: 1) Mark D Wolf’s Age of Mammals - In this stop motion documentary, it’s referred to as Balucitherium & is also depicted with a shaggy coat 2) Dinotopia: Journey to Chandara - Paraceratherium is one of the many Cenozoic Mammals that inhabit the Forbidden Mountains 3) Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope - While Paraceratherium doesn’t appear in the film, the Ronto seems to be partially based on it.
"Walking with Beasts" was my introduction to Paraceratherium as well (👍😉). I admit it; _I'm_ guilty of calling it 'Indricotherium' for the longest time (until now, that is).
