This was one of my first repairs (Pre TH-cam channel) I must have purchased the wrong battery for it though... it was too thick to let the back sit flush... so I took a hammer and pounded out a divot in the back of the ipod back (So it had a hump like the Nexus 6p... that gave it enough room for the battery. And Boom. It worked. I still have it laying around somewhere.
After pressing the off button, slide the top switch to its lock position (red). Frankly, you lack the patience, dexterity, intuition and correct attitude to do this type of work. If you dislike equipment, don't work on it.
Why the fuck has this guy chosen this line of work? Try this, pick your nose with your finger, if you poke your eye, stay away from delicate stuff. Please!
I wouldn’t let this bozo put puzzles together for old people in nursing homes! Your a butcher mister, I’m not a certified repair tech but I was able to get in my 6.2 classic in less than 5 minutes because I did plenty of research on TH-cam before I did it. That customer should sue his Neanderthal ass. I bet that iPod looked like crap when they got it back.
The trick is to push the metal tool down all the way until you hear a click pull down slightly then pull up. Very simple. Would never trust a guy like you XD
Francisco A - They aren’t that hard to get into, this Putz doesn’t know what he’s doing. There are some great vids on TH-cam that are actually helpful. Ignore this hack at all cost!
Bruh, I can tell you did research, but you looked up the wrong iPod. Looks like you read I guide for the 5th gen or earlier iPod classics. This is a 6th gen, they come apart much differently. You ended up destroying the shel due too not double checking your research
this is the part where the tech calls the customer and says: "the cost of repair exceeds the cost of replacement " Looks like the tech did more harm than good thanks but no thanks, I will do my own . "Tech MD " looks like he needs an Md. as a 20 year senior tech wit Incredible Universe repair dept. (a division of Tandy Corp. ie Radio Shack ...personally I would look elsewhere .

JerryRigEverything I'm doing a storage swap on one of these at the moment. It took me almost an hour to get the back off!

LMAO you really destroyed that one. If you slide blades down in 3 places on the side it releases the clips. There are videos on it.

Looks like you put the battery in upside down. It has a sticky strip to peel off too

Seems so and a very bad one. I would be so ashamed to return this to a customer and ask for money...
Did your ex get a hold of your phone and post this embarrassing video of your skills and work ethics to get back at you?
