    I agree that we knitters and crocheters set the trends. Your Carpet Coat and Matoaka Sweater are stunners! Love your baked clay dress.

      Thank you so much 😊 I always love hearing from you! I’ve been thinking a lot about that red yarn you sent me and can’t wait to cast on a camisole when I get through the sweaters I’m working on!

    Hey, with that sweater you wish was longer you could rip the neckline out and put some short rows in the back easy breezy fix would make the back longer

    I just wanted to pop in to say I love your videos…I have a love/hate relationship with sewing, and your makes make me want to pull out my machine and get to work! Also, I love that you thrifted that yarn from a Gap sweater…I‘ve been wanting to try this, so thanks for the reminder (and proof that it can turn out beautifully)! Anyway, Happy New Year! 😊

      Ohh yes the unraveling is such a fun thing to try at least once! And pulling out my sewn garments helped me too 😂 sometimes it can just be so intimidating and a whole new language to follow the patterns so I get it!

    I've been following many US and European knitters these past months and it always strikes me as really odd that they all find it so difficult to knit perfectly well-fitting bottom-up garments. In Argentina we've been knitting bottom up since forever, circular knitting has only become known very recently. All my knitted garments have been made bottom up and in pieces and they ALL fit me perfectly. If you take the time to get your correct meassurements beforehand and then keep track of your knitting by meassuring it, then there's no way you can't get a perfect finished object. It's mind boggling to me that they find it so difficult

      We’re all on a journey to perfecting the craft ☺️ some people struggle in certain areas that others find easy, and vice versa.

    I love the huge blanket cardigan you knit. I think, depending on the size you want, you could knit it to pattern, just with smaller yarn - fingering weight? or sport?

    • @brookwillow
      @brookwillow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For some reason I never even thought of using a different weight of yarn. Maybe I need to make a whole new one 😂

    I really enjoyed seeing all your projects, especially your sweaters. My dream goal this year is to knit myself a sweater so you really inspired me to try! I missed where you said you got your project bag for $5. Was it Target? Is there a link? Thanks again for the awesome podcast!

    • @brookwillow

      It is from Target! I couldn’t find it anywhere online though so I don’t have a link sadly. But I got it in the “dollar” section right when you walk in through the front doors 🙂

    I really love and want to make the yellow dress you're wearing, but I've never done buttons/buttonholes - is that hard to do?

    • @brookwillow
      @brookwillow  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m pretty sure these buttons were the first time I’ve done them! I have a special feature in my sewing machine that makes the button holes. I had to watch a few TH-cam videos on how to use that function but once I got it down it was pretty fun to make!

    Loooove your "birthday hat" 😍 I was thinking if I had yarn to make one 😀 and all your sewing projects made me think and whant to make my own that I have put on pause for some time now. I'm going to be home alot this coming year since our seconed son is do in februari, so I'm hoping to get some more sewing and knitting/crocheting time inbetwing my gardning. Happy New year, thank you a bunch for beeing such an bubbley, happy and really inspiering person and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to see what you'r going to make this year ❤❤ thank you so much sweetheart and I wish you, Mitch and the four legged babys a really wonderful year ❤❤❤❤ all the love from Milla in Sweden 😊

      I think the hat would also make a great scrappy project if you have left overs! I’m pretty sure in the pattern it says each stripe only uses 5 grams of yarn which is pretty nice and you obvs can repeat the colors too!
      And thank you for those kind, thoughtful words ☺️ the community here keeps me going with making videos and I love all the online relationships created 🥰

    Happy New Year to you! Glad to see you again. I'm still in love with your Carpet Coat and still planning to make on, possibly in Mohair !!!??? (and of course, much, much smaller) I also have that Linka Neumann book in my queue but not sure what I want to knit from it yet. In the meantime I am struggling to finish up the Get A Drip intarsia sweater that I cast on at the end of November for my 18 year old granddaughter. It's taking forever, as I had to knit it in (double strands of) polyester yarn, since she is sensitive to many other fibers. And let me tell you, learning intarsia is intense, let alone trying to work with yarn that is thick and not really drapey at all. It's a nightmare managing the many many balls of yarn and the loose ends of the multi colors. However, I am persevering and she likes it, so on we go. It has taken me 5 days to do the first sleeve! But, only one sleeve to go and I can tick that box! At least I have learned a lot with this project, but I won't be doing anything else in intarsia, if I can avoid it. Thanks for sharing your projects from 2022. Cheers. Barbara 😍

      I just looked up the Get A Drip intarsia sweater and it is SO COOL! Your granddaughter is very lucky to receive such a beautiful sweater 😍 it’ll get you ready for carpet coat because that also is intarsia! I feel your pain with all the yarn management with it 😂 I dream of a better way to deal with that!! Happy New Year and I’m so glad you dropped in to say hi ☺️

    • @barbarah5756
      @barbarah5756 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, her sweater is beautiful and she loves it, so worth the effort! Ha, ok, maybe I spoke too soon! For whatever reason, my brain completely spaced on realizing that sweater was intarsia! Obviously the fates were listening and smirking! 🤣 Knowing that makes me appreciate your efforts even more!!! I will make the Carpet Coat, but will definitely take a small break with some plain knitting before starting it.😉 Cheers.
