  • Installation guide to install the original Telespar breakaway sign support system.
    -- Instructions in the Description Below --
    // Installation //
    1. Make sure you have all your materials: Telespar, Anchor, Corner Bolt, Sign and most importantly, Safety Equipment. Call Strada Sign Supply at 1-877-987-1022 for availability or email info@stradasignsupply.com.
    2. Drive Telespar Anchor ~6" deep and remove earth core.
    3. Drive Telespar Anchor (and optional sleeve) until 2-4" above surface.
    4. Attach Sign to Post using bolts or drive rivets.
    5. Insert Telespar Sign Post about 6" into Telespar Anchor.
    6. Fasten Corner Bolt away from traffic.
    // On Impact //
    1. Remove damaged post
    2. Cut away damaged segment and attach new sign if necessary.
    3. Re-insert upright post
    Proper installation provides the benefit of quick replacement, even when installed in concrete or soil. When installing in concrete, ensure the upright Telespar post is not set beneath the surface.
    When installing in soil, consider the winged anchor for extra torsional stability.

    I install bus stop posts and signs for a major transportation company on the west coast. Remember to always call in a dig alert whenever going more than 1 foot into the ground. Our anchor sleeves go 2.5 feet deep. We have 3 types of installs...a dirt install is when we go straight into the ground. A concrete install is when we bore a hole thru concrete (usually a sidewalk) and a plate install where we anchor a steel plate with a sleeve to the concrete with 6 inch lag bolts when we cant go into the ground because of a conflict i.e underground gas, water, power, cable ot telecommunications lines....remember safety first.

    I'm curious as to the purpose of the corner bolts. What is the difference between just using a straight bolt through? I recently removed a sign and saw this "corner" bolt for the first time in my life. Lol

    Can this post system also be used for fence posts? I need something like this for supporting a fence made of corrugated perforated aluminum panels.

    Is there a way to make it straight again? Los Angeles City came over the weekend to cut down tree on sidewalk that was deteriotating due to root rot. When a branch fell, it hit the "No Parking" sign. Now I have a crooked sign in front of my house and it is driving me crazy! I put in a request with the city to see if they can come fix it, but since they probably see it as something minor, they might not show up. If they do, it may take them 5-6 years like it did for them to cut the tree. Any suggestions. I just want to make it stand straight instead of tilted over.

    What are the poles made of? Steel or a mix of aluminum?

    Is there such a system for wood , such as a 4 x 4?

      I've seen an image from a MASH test of the wood 4x4 post, the post failed the test and went directly through the windsheild. We don't carry them. We do have a 4"x4" hinged steel post system for larger guide signs called Highway Gator. Multipost and single post slip-base. Please drop us an email or phone call for more information!
