- After railfanning at Pleasanton the day before and a brief night in Tracy, I made my way over to the Tracy ACE Station to wrap up my rather small railfanning trip along the ACE route. The Tracy station is comparatively similar to the other ACE only train stations, consisting of a substantially sized parking lot and basic station amenities, including shaded waiting areas and a staffed ACE ticket booth for commuters. However, the interesting thing about this station though is that there is a railroad crossing just west of the station, providing for some nice horn action for departing westbound trains. There is also an automatic block signal further out west of the station, providing a considerably early notice of any approaching westbound trains. Although this location is rather minimal in terms of railroad activity, the setup of this station and excellent consistency of the ACE train schedule makes for a nice morning railfanning !
Train 1 : ACE #3 with F40PH-3C #3105 & CabCar #3302. With the sun yet to rise, ACE #3 arrives and departs Tracy on a modest Friday morning, taking commuters onwards towards the Bay Area.
Train 2 : ACE #5 with F40PH-3C #3103 & CabCar #3305. Apologies for the horrendous sun glare as I decided to try out a different vantage point.
Train 3 : ACE #7 with F40PH-3C #3101 & CabCar #3307. Very unique vantage point in my opinion seeing #3101 depart Tracy with the crossing just west of the station ! Great horn action from the engineer as well !

Even morning at Pleasanton and livermore
Zuniga Fregoso I’ll definitely look into it. I placed it on my list of railfanning things, although I’m not sure how soon I’ll be able to do it yet.

least they don't come into the stop doing 30 like Amtrak and metrolink
Another great video! How are you able to railfan so often?
I think it depends on his editing time and his plans per day
Jacob Hofer Thank you ! It just depends on availability and location really. If I have the time and ability to travel, I’ll arrange trips to railfan at a particular location of interest. I also have work in both Northern and Southern California, so it allows more flexibility towards railfanning throughout the state of California as a whole.
