I'm just hoping wirh these new weapons types they dont pull another "flail" oversight. What that means is that the flail weapon class can not be infused and have it's native ash of war because "spinning chain" is not one that can be equipped. So basically you have to use it at base scaling if you want to use its AoW.
@@tristanward9937 I don't mean it for that reason I mean the fact that you can not make a strength or quality based flail and have spinning chain AoW because spinning chain is not an obtainable AoW since it would be exclusive to just 1 weapon class.

Oh man, a lot of these new weapons are gonna be crazy dual wielded. Dual wielding in general in base game was crazy strong to the extent that the new backhanded blades will be at a big disadvantage unless their base AR is really high. I wonder if we get a nerf to dual wielding because of that 🤔
Something I noticed about all the smithscript weapons is that they ALL have just a little bit of both int and faith scaling, but only do physical damage uninfused. So they can all function like an erdsteel dagger for both faith and int!

The weapons were by far the highlight of the show. It all looked fantastic. I’m very happy they’re also all situational. They all have very promising and valuable damage output too, to my surprise
It really feels like light greatswords were influenced by FromSoft discovering HEMA Longsword. Like it's still got spinning and other fantasy elements, but a lot of the end or beginning positions for the attack are proper longsword guards, and the focus on smooth and swift movement feels a lot closer to actual 2 handed swords.
I still miss a lot of the DS2 weapon movements and wish Fromsoft can import them to other weapons like DS2 great sword moveset for the Knight Greatsword and Banished Greatsword, but these new weapon moves are out of this world The light Greatsword moveset is absolutely what I wanted for since DS1
The new weapon types almost feel more Sekiro than Souls, very showy flashy animations, and I love the addition of mid to long range weapons, so god damn cool.
Huh, the damage on the light greatsword actually looks pretty good. That's was sort the one thing I was concerned about. Nice to finally see the great katana too. Really looking forwards to this.

Hope there is new heavy samurai outfit, with this heavy katana you can cosplay japanese samurai warlords
Thank you for this, I am avoiding spoilers now and the videos really help.
Finally, i can have an appropriate perfurmer build for that apothecary and alchemist itch. I cant wait to see how they can be powerstanced
Seems to be lots of Dex stuff and some Faith, which is nice. And i'm SO glad you can make actual perfumer and throwing builds now 🤩
Yup! Got some dex-int and dex-fth builds set up for this.
My perfumer build is gonna be eating good.
I'm just hoping wirh these new weapons types they dont pull another "flail" oversight. What that means is that the flail weapon class can not be infused and have it's native ash of war because "spinning chain" is not one that can be equipped. So basically you have to use it at base scaling if you want to use its AoW.
There's more than just flails. For the life of me, I can't understand why the serpent katana cannot be infused when the Antspur rapier can.
@@tristanward9937 I don't mean it for that reason I mean the fact that you can not make a strength or quality based flail and have spinning chain AoW because spinning chain is not an obtainable AoW since it would be exclusive to just 1 weapon class.
We need a fedora helmet for the Milady LGS
Lionel's the closest--hell, just wear his set lmao

💀
Very nice! Probably best to use a Vagabond save with even stats to try out everything first, then send in your specific builds afterward for efficient treasure hunts. This DLC will make build varieties skyrocket. What a great game.
Light Greatsword it is then. This will finally get me to do a NG+ instead of just starting a new character, I want to beat the game with one of those.
Such a good moveset
It seemed to me that the milady moveset looked unique to that sword, so chances are the more traditional light grwatswords we haven't seen yet will probably have different, more grounded movesets which will be epic
@@mickthick6170
Fingers crossed.
Let me tell you, I didn't expect this much from the dlc. It never struck me that we'd get not just new weapon types and different movesets within them, but new weapons within the previous types with new movesets, and new ashes of war as well
The light greatsword has the most beautiful sword moveset fromsoft has ever made. That was graceful af
Ichimongi ! You are returned !
Triple ichimonji!!
The jumping and running heavy of the martial art weapon looks sick!
Elden Ring basically had the dlc content already in it, and they STILL give us more!
I hope there are some more medieval european looking light greatswords. I dig the Jian look for the Milady, but I'm a sucker for european longswords x)
im excited to see the light greatswords dual wielded
Oh man, a lot of these new weapons are gonna be crazy dual wielded. Dual wielding in general in base game was crazy strong to the extent that the new backhanded blades will be at a big disadvantage unless their base AR is really high. I wonder if we get a nerf to dual wielding because of that 🤔
i NEED that wing stance for my isshin build with it BETTER be an ash of war you can also find seperate from the light greatsword.
BRO IT’S INCREDIBLE, RHEY ARE ALL SOOOOO GOOOODDDD I CANT WAIT TT
this video made me so happy
im so excited for the two fist weapons they showed, as well as the spark bottles
Something I noticed about all the smithscript weapons is that they ALL have just a little bit of both int and faith scaling, but only do physical damage uninfused. So they can all function like an erdsteel dagger for both faith and int!
Thank god, there’s only like 2 hex build weapons in the base game
@@Christopher-eq1rnwell it won't really benefit both int and fth, the scaling is so minuscule that it only matters when you infuse it with the relevant scaling
@@mrpenguin47_8 damn
God I really want to see the power stance moveset for the light greatsword and great katana, hoping it's awesome
Dryleaf arts look so sick despite having short range, i hope they make up for it with crazy stance damage
the hype is insane ❤
Yup. That's it. Light greatsword is my new main weapon. It looks SO GOOD
So pumped for this DLC, feels great being hyped about Elden Ring again
Ok those might be the coolest weapon types i've ever seen in any game. Absolutely love them all. I'll need a lot more character slots for this DLC.
I’m glad it wasn’t full of spoilers it was a good showcase of the dlc
Rewatched the original trailer stream and Rata was saying hed be happy with 1 or 2 new weapon types... We are in for a treat
Light greatsword legitimately looks great
LGS and board bout to go crazy
I bet it looks awesome with a shield
@@gimmedataids
Maybe even a thrusting shield? I'm assuming those shields are going to shine in their ashes of war, as I'm sure they don't expect many people to just two hand a shield (though it looks cooler than I thought admittedly)
In the base game we got what? Bash and barricade, I don't even remember what else. But put some pointy ouchies on there and it opens up a body of offensive ashes
THATS WHAT IM SAYING
though i wonder if thrusting shields will work as normal shields as well, the guy in the vid only 2 handed it in his right hand so
@raphos.
I think you can see the Raging Wolf tarnished in the trailer holding the thrusting shield in their left hand and a twinblade in their right
I can't wait to see all the new powers tanked movesets. Really hope there are more than one of each unpaired weapon type (I'd also like to see the one-hand movesets of all the paired weapons)
Man the combat looks sick, can't wait!
Bro, these new weapons are so fucking sick. I can't wait to use them! That Light Greatsword moveset is just gorgeous.
I need help of what build should I use for the dlc. Str/faith , dex/faith , str/int
All these weapons look super exciting! Can't waitto try them out myself!
Since the perfumes are infusable looking forward to faith perfume builds maybe , so much brain storming to do
Any thought on dual stancing the new weapon categories? I feel like no one's even mentioned how awesome light greatsword x 2 is gonna look
The weapons were by far the highlight of the show. Everything else looked amazing, but damn I don’t think there’s a SINGLE weapon that was showcased that disappointed me (this goes for the weapons in all 8 new weapon categories, as well as new weapons in pre-existing classes). It all looked fantastic.
I’m very happy they’re also all situational. They all have very promising and valuable damage output too, to my surprise
I NEED IT
Never expected to see the Zulu spear shield, that’s sick as all hell
Finally, I may complete my Vampire Hunter D build
those reverse grip swords are so cool
I never knew i needed an alchemist build until they graced us with the perfume bottles.
I already know I'll be using those throwing knives alongside my nagakiba
Dude the hand to hand combat is an ACTUAL WEAPON IM SO HYPED
Man I hope we get a Horah Loux martial art, powerbomb and all
If rapiers are great, why there isn't rapier 2?
Rapier 2: 2:13
It really feels like light greatswords were influenced by FromSoft discovering HEMA Longsword. Like it's still got spinning and other fantasy elements, but a lot of the end or beginning positions for the attack are proper longsword guards, and the focus on smooth and swift movement feels a lot closer to actual 2 handed swords.
I still miss a lot of the DS2 weapon movements and wish Fromsoft can import them to other weapons like DS2 great sword moveset for the Knight Greatsword and Banished Greatsword, but these new weapon moves are out of this world
The light Greatsword moveset is absolutely what I wanted for since DS1
The new weapon types almost feel more Sekiro than Souls, very showy flashy animations, and I love the addition of mid to long range weapons, so god damn cool.
Im stuck with either using a great katana or the beast claws for my strength build, they look so sick
He did try to axe, hammer and spear too aswell as new spells and new ashes of war on old weapons but they were in areas with enemies.
Huh, the damage on the light greatsword actually looks pretty good. That's was sort the one thing I was concerned about. Nice to finally see the great katana too. Really looking forwards to this.
I'm definitely going to be trying to get these weapons on new characters so I can play through the base game with them, these really put most base game weapons to shame. So impressive.
Im happy to see there's gonna be more weapon attacks but wait this wasn't streamed right? Why is it treated as such? At least with the webcam lol.
it was all live
@@Mango-cp1im Really? I'm surprised they would stream the dlc I thought it was only a youtuber thing, I didn't know about it tbh.
@@wealthybone2990 it was 1 or 2 small side dungeons in the first area of the dlc, and they barley showed off the dungeons even
