    🐄I was so grateful we both stayed safe! I think they were just curious, but wow it would help to know what to do around cows!

      Just don't run from them, stampede mentality can get you run down. Otherwise, standing still and being calm should ensure the cows don't bother you!

      By standing still I mean walk slowly, don't suddenly sprint or anything haha

    cows are very peaceful animals as long as they are not disturbed. So you shouldn't really be afraid of the cows:)

    Walking boots are useful for the mud, depending on the brand they can dry quite quickly and most are fairly waterproof.

    this sounds silly, but cows are considered one of the most dangerous animals that live in the uk, because we have so few dangerous animals here! they can be pretty dangerous though, i know someone who was flipped into the air by a cow and broke her back 😬

    Just staying calm is the way I've always dealt with cows, as you've probably seen they're everywhere outside of big cities here in the UK so I'm kinda just used to them. So long as you don't spook them they're not gonna hurt you (generally). Some people don't know how to act around them and that causes accidents every now and again (same with deer, I live near a deer park and every year some drunk idiot bothers them during breeding season and ends up in hospital) but since you said your friend gave you some tips you should be fine.

    Cows are very nosy. British cows are usually very placid & more interested in their food, as long as they aren't broody / have calves, and you don't scream / run & startle them.

    Just spook them, they'll run away. Just were just curious or thought that you had food. Typically when Farmers feed their cows the cows will come stampeding towards the farmer because they know that the farmer has food so they probably thought you guys had food.

    • @EikottXD
      @EikottXD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Spooking them is horrible advice.

    • @Ann_a-
      @Ann_a- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@EikottXD Unfortunately you are right ... if you spook them they only get aggressive. That is why some people think cows are dangerous, but the real reason is that some / many people cry out to them believing it would help. In order to be able to tell everyone how dangerous they are in retrospect. I speak from experience..I live in a village and have cows..And there are always children who slip through the willow fence and play loudly in the pasture and run to the cows and startle ... And are not even aware of how it is dangerous to frighten the cows :/
      to all of you who are reading this, please be calm towards the cows, because then they are peaceful and you do not need to fear anything:)

    I had an experience with cows when hiking years ago (I’m generally an urban person but was participating in a youth scheme). Cows on either side of the narrow path. There was no other way around. They looked so intimidating and were inches away, glaring at us. And they’re huge. Just felt a vibe that didn’t feel comfortable.
    We had to take the chance and pass through. I was avoiding eye contact and praying the whole time. It was freaking scary!

    Former dairy farmer here, those cattle were just hoping you were coming to move them to fresh grass. That said, you should always be careful around large animals. Bulls on the other hand often present a clear danger and are sometimes territorial.

    Cows are very curious, so they tend to walk towards people when they're around. As long as you act calm and don't give lots of eye contact, it should be fine and they won't bother you.
