Matthew 16:13-19
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
MAIN IDEAS
1. The church should be built on Christ.
-All too often churches are built on natural and even worldly goals.
2. Building your personal life on Godly principles.
-Personal holiness will be reflected throughout your household.
-It will be reflected on your job or at school.
3. Building your household on integrity and holiness.
-Sanctify your home.
-Even minding what you watch.
-Spiritual cleansing involves no longer playing ungodly and wicked music in your home.
-Replace these with an atmosphere of godliness such as playing Christian music and preaching throughout the week.
-Sanctify the practices in your home. This includes a drug and alcohol free home.
-This includes no sexual immorality (A Godly union between a man and a woman).
-Godly practices allows the Holy Spirit to flow freely in your home.
4. Building your household Godly practices.
-If you want to move forward in walking in spiritual freedom and deliverance in your home, it cannot be done without constant prayer.
-The bible says “Men ought always pray and not faint.
-You cannot do it without a regular habit of studying God’s word together.
5. Spiritually Cleansing Your Home
-Binding and loosing demonic forces and spiritual strongholds in your home (V.18).
-The spiritual atmosphere in your home should be Godly.
-Pray and discern what demonic forces are operating your home and ask
6. God to bind them, loose them and drive them out.
-Could be spirits of division, fighting, rebellion, addiction, homosexuality, sexual lust, depression, greed, violence.
-God can cleanse your home from all of these demonic forces and replace them with His Holy Spirit.
7. Let Christ be the foundation of your home.
CONCLUSION
-Let our homes be houses of spiritual refuge, that are built upon Christ.
-With him as the center.
-Full of His Holy Spirit.
-Building A Spiritual Household.
