❗Common Questions❗ 1. Grandfather vs Normal Weapon - Unless GF gets buffed to the 200%(x) I am positive Polearms are still the clear winner 💪 2. STR vs HP gems in armor - STR is double dipping on our Rupture. It not only increases all our skill damage, for every 50 STR we get 10%(x) for our Rupture which is our main source of AoE damage. Only use Rubies if you can't live with Amethysts 3. AS vs STR on rings - Verathion sword with GA on AS will already match the same AS we get from 1x GA and rapid aspect on Live and together with Carnage and Rupture AS, we will reach 100% ASC1. Then we get another 20% from Moonrise and 15% from the elixir 4. Flay Duration vs Flay ranks on pants - The equation for Rupture explosion is " bleedTick*normalBleedDuration*ticksPerSecond*flayDuration " so if we look at 3 extra ranks of Flay on pants and 50% flay duration (if we already have all the ranks from Verathion) vs 77% flay duration with an example of 2 billion DoT - we get: a) 2.231*5*2*(1+178.4%) = 62.1 billion rupture b) 2.189*5*2*(1+204.7%) = 66.7 billion rupture Which means that maxed out Flay duration would give us more damage overall 5. Why not the new amulet Locran's Talisman - Gushing Wounds only take into consideration Crit Chance from character sheet, which it does not give us 6. Is %Damage double dipping for Bleeds - YES docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hXoEyZaz73EU3yAtUVcSgO9f15lMNILUWMzzgp7Eeks/edit?gid=1355148910#gid=1355148910 7. Can it beat the new direct damage Bash with the Locran's Talisman? - We will see when the season goes live and what additional changes we get to other uniques and/or seasonal powers, if we get some. Currently on the PTR I was unable to get any of the items and I just think Blizzard completely failed PTR by not giving us vendors with gear and infinite materials to test balance of builds and new items 🙈
First, I would like to congratulate you on the content about barb and your channel. very good content. Do you think that flay will still be the build with the greatest potential to climb high pit levels?
Thanks mate! 🥰 I think it definitely has insane potential as bleeds are the highest scaling abilities. With the new items, I think we can scale our bleeds to 10B 👀 at least for single target. The problem will be AoE as Rupture won't really benefit from those.
Well the flay duration is for sure a nerf. Not only it is lower now, it also eats a temper for defensives or something like CSD on an amulet. It also makes it impossible to play worldly fortune CC tempers to be able to use creeping death. But then again .. the new items have us a massive buff so 😅
@@Lunatalli I am still a bigger fan of Rend. Had the most fun in Helltides and for that is a core build smoother, but of course it’s really nice to kill high pit Bosses with a flay build.
@@paulpaulsen5466 I did not as we only have one element, which is physical. We could get some more with items like Andariel and it might even be a lot of fun, but I can’t see it outperforming other choices 😁
@@Lunatalli not sure if it works with each element or each element over time. Over time it can work with andariels and burning Rage aspect in a frenzy build or maybe with the hellhammer and you got a chain reaction when you hit all with upheaval.
Do you think there still is no solution for better AoE? I played around a lot, with all the old and new aspects and items and I couldn’t get anything better than what it already is. Rupture is kinda doable but still is a huge bottleneck for the flay potential. While you spend 10+ minutes on mobs, your boss fight can take like a minute or less. Do you also think we might get an aspect/unique/rupture skill adjustments in S5 to get the build better in AoE? They seem to be looking at flay with a favourable vibe since they buffed it right after it already became the top barb build, but they seem to miss the AoE part completely. I’m not sure what’s the best solution but we definitely should get one as it’s currently just a bottleneck. Such a great skill combination, I love the vibe, but rupture or the concept of AoE in this build must be buffed/changed. We could even drop iron skin to use something else but we don’t have anything to use instead. I’ve been using the new DR aspect which gives you 5% DR for every 10% of hp that you lose and without even optimising I was already almost never dying in 140 pits on PTR (and ptr seem to have a pre patch pit state or around that) and my aspect was at 3.7 DR instead of max. I was without iron skin and shako, and was only around 40k hp, with either purple or green gems, testing stuff. The problem though there’s nothing we can add instead in order to get better AoE.
I actually think that is the point. As in ... Flay is the strongest single target, it would make no sense to also have the strongest AoE ya know. Or at least that is how I would do it :D to make people weight their options. I personally hope they will rework all the uniques, including Ring of the Ravenous. If it gave more stats and let's say double the duration, not just 4 seconds on Rend, it might make Rend a viable option. Personally? I am so tired of basic builds 😂🙈 the pinnacle of our damage should be our "spenders" not our resource "builders". It is like ... if I did more damage with auto attack on my Ret paladin in WoW than with my Divine storm or Templar's verdict. It just makes no sense. Plus core skills got such cool animations, for example Rend with the increased size just smacking half the screen with the Sword. Looks so cool 😅
Yeah it’s garbage now :D I will have to update all my builds for S5 now that some tests have been done. At least the planners till I get the gear to do in game runs 😁
