Dave , being self employed. I make sure I am available on weekends and holidays . Only because the law writes . When they think your free , they will cuff you ! Hazys Day 2020 !!! I worked service electrical for theaters throughout Michigan ! As 1 person no team ! These managers tried to push the can you handle it factor , they had crew's of a couple plus guys before ! They never factored most people are lazy ! And that i am a huge fan of the Rocky Movies ! Heart and Fire ! The life you accept, is only because you decided to settle to it ! You can have anyone you choose !

Oops. Just saw this was pretty old post. Anyway, I enjoyed the video. Of all the places I have lived, the best garage sales were in Alaska. Always good stuff and even better prices. I try to catch all of your videos and also Brookes videos and thought you both were great on ‘Alone’.

Aha! So that's the sort of stuff you splurge on! You have excellent taste. What a great haul. Amazing what you were able to find. This was fun to watch, esp. all the kick-knacks from the camping box.
That old military yukon stove @ 02:10 is the same one we used in the field when I was stationed @ Ft Wainwright. You had to be careful with the gasoline tho. We actually had to have certification to operate one stamped on our military drivers licence up there.
I'm into yard sales too found a 1976 jeep cherokee with a 401 engine great moter for $300 the guy thought it was a 360. PS your wife is awsome love your kids

The stove you have there is from the 50s. My father had one of those when I was a little boy. It burns white gas and you pump it up. That was our favorite thing setting up the stove and setting up the Coleman lantern when we would go camping with the horses
When my husband and I started collecting camping and backpacking gear at garage sales ....we stopped by an older adult couples home. They were downsizing and moving to an assisted living facility. We bought some things and then chatted for while. They started giving us items because they wanted them to go to someone who would really appreciate and use them. Getting ready to leave ...the back of my pickup was nearly full of good quality camping gear that they just gave us. Then, as we hopped in to leave the lady said, "the next time you go canoeing will you come get us and take us along?"....heartbreaker.
After I retired from the Air Force in 1988, I worked for a personnel agency and they would send me out to different companies that needed help. Coleman was one of them. That stove you bought was like the ones I put together. Too funny. I did it for an entire week and I would say that 150 of these went through my hands in the assembly line. That box for 20 bucks was a steal. Gotta love those yard sales. A lot of my backpacking gear came from yard and moving sales.
That Coleman stove is THE BOMB!!!!! It's like the 57' Chevy of camp stoves - love it! And the goody box full of gear = whoohooo! I'm jealous I didn't go along lol. Great deals brother, glad you got to go have some FUN! -Mike

Ha! Thats funny. Picked up that same stove stand at a yard sale 10 years ago, had no idea what they were for but I use them for a small plywood table to have a place to set stuff next to the grill when camping. Awesome deals, Great video.

I have the green coleman stoves but never saw one like that . I love the stand. Im in a garage sale 12 step program, i cant stop anymore. Someday i hope to bust this addition, i dont ever read the papers and my wife watches to see if i go out on Saturday morning. She is .like a sponser, i make make sure she does not hit the shoe stores. We can both both relapse at any time.
The stove was worth it just for the stand alone. Say hello to Brooke it was fun to see her pop in for a second - sad she tapped, miss her on the show but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. This was fun, didn't know you were so musical!
Some good finds for some good prices. Connie and I don't do much "garage" sale-ing due to living so far out of town. When we do get to town it is often on a week day. But we do hit the thrift stores as often as possible and are always in search of the elusive "bargain" also.

Just got back from Alaska, E of Bethal, for 10 days. The best bug attractor, kept the bugs away from me was my 19 yr old son. As a log as he was around the bugs left me alone, lol. Yah head nets but just used it to keep the bugs from buzzing around my ears. Looks like you had a good respite from the cabin. Thanks.

Hahaa!...Dave, you have a soul-brother here :) . You are so enthusiastic about similar old finds as me. I have about 5 or 6 old Coleman Stoves (Canadian Suitcases), all but one are 2 burners though, my fave is a 1953 one with a copper tank, I paid $3 CDN for it...it runs like a bomb! That 3 burner is a real find, I have never seen one and have seen hundreds of Coleman Stoves. You could probably make a real profit on it on Ebay as people will bid like crazy against each other. My wife goes nuts when I pick more old goodies up...so I have to sneak them in my shed before she gets home :) . My latest great find was an Optimus 8R White Gas Stove (one of those neat little brass ones that fold into a blue metal case), it looks as good as new with instruction booklet for the princely sum of $3 CDN! I recently picked up a Woodings Verona Fire axe for $5 and a Gransfors Bruk 2 1/4lb head FOR $3..and...and a box of fishing tackle with about $100 of flies and other gems for $15..and then there's the McCulloch Chainsaw!...I feel a shopping urge coming on...bye for now WS

That pesky wildlife, always photo bombing when you're right in the middle of a take. ;o) My father had one of those Coleman stoves, we took it on every one of our Boy Scout camping trips. I remember watching him putting it up and taking it down because I was fascinated with the way the stand would expand and collapse. That's an epic find and a real blast from my past.
That's is and awesome haul! Luv the stove! Never seen one like that. I have a green 3 burner that I picked up 15 years ago and have never used. Got it for $20.

Fantastic find, Dave. I looked for one of those stoves for 10 years. My buddy had one and we used it on a trip into the bush for 2 weeks and it never let us down. You guys rock. Hope Alaska is going well. I think the brush is for the stove. I didn't know you picked. I played all over for about 30 years. I have a few teles and some nice acoustics. That taro might be worth some money. The uke is for sale between 120-150 online. Love the thin line

That pesky wildlife, always photo bombing when you're right in the middle of a take. ;o) My father had one of those Coleman stoves, we took it on every one of our Boy Scout camping trips. I remember watching him putting it up and taking it down because I was fascinated with the way the stand would expand and collapse. That's an epic find and a real blast from my past.

That's is and awesome haul! Luv the stove! Never seen one like that. I have a green 3 burner that I picked up 15 years ago and have never used. Got it for $20.

Fantastic find, Dave. I looked for one of those stoves for 10 years. My buddy had one and we used it on a trip into the bush for 2 weeks and it never let us down. You guys rock. Hope Alaska is going well. I think the brush is for the stove. I didn't know you picked. I played all over for about 30 years. I have a few teles and some nice acoustics. That taro might be worth some money. The uke is for sale between 120-150 online. Love the thin line
