Great review- clear and to the point with helpful descriptions and options. I’ve got the Simgot ea500lm and love them. They’ve replaced more expensive IEMs for when I want to listen for enjoyment for a range of genres.
Informative and helpful video as always Jay. There are still categories "under 200", "under 500", "under 1000" and "TOTL territory" in the pipeline for you to cover mate xD
Damnit, I've just ordered Xuan Nv (after watching your review and judging by the graph, it was sort of in line with my preference target and plus I can finally also try your recommended Sanchai eartips) during the current AE Sale, hopefully I won't regret it once this video premiere 😭
Update: watched the premiere, and thanks for justifying my purchase for the Xuan NV 😂🙏 Its one of the higher price iem I've bought so far next to the T10s (eventhough they're considered budget but convertion rate is fked for me 😅)
Very nice video, keep them coming for other prices! I think you could do a kinda 2 recomendations in one from 100 bucks on: A video with the best under 300, for example, but giving the best options under 200 as well... Just an idea hope you get it dunno if i made myself clear enough.
got artti 10 off your spreadsheet since value is important to me and yeah im pretty much done, shit is everything i wanted, i eq to harman but remove sub-bass/presence channels to retain best spiciness/character + the best parts of the iem imo (prefer it over mega5p which is 3x the price but still has its merits)
I'm going with cca hydro as best $100 or less (from alliexpress). I like it over the doscinco as with +2-3 db at 60hz and below and +2db 1khz it matches the bass of the doscinco with more soundstage and instrument separation. 1110 config with short wide bore spinfit tips. Still waiting on sm4 :(
Good budget list. I wonder if you have heard the Tangzu x Seeaudio Shimin Li Encounter Edition, I personally love this $50 single driver IEM. It's well tuned with a well built and impressive looking shell.
what iem would you recommend for nu-metal music (metal with downtuned bass and guitar, and sometimes hip-hop)? basically bands like Linkin Park, Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc. i’m willing to go up to $100
Cklvx is a no brainer to me as I like to listen at mid to high volumes and for extensive periods of time. The tuning and smoothness is worth 350. With the harman sets you have to be caution of how loud they can get, this also includes in gaming even if they perform better. I'm trying hype4 right now and they can get also quite intense due to their tuning depending on how the songs were mastered.
CCA hydro is real technically good tho and good tuning that's away from Harman. HBB, especially Paul Wasabii and Akros explains how it punches above price point technically.
I still think for warm under $100, the Artti R1 and Kailua are my favorites. I can't figure out what I think of the Xuan Nv, while I like it, I don't get excited to get it out. I am looking forward to the Aful Explorer in the $150 bracket.
Real question my man, because my T10s on my K7 are almost endgame for me, they truly are incredible. What could you recommend in a slightly higher budget with the something in the same tuning? Maybe slightly less sub bass, and a little bit more in the mids and a tad more extension? Side note: Suprised MP145s werent mentioned, ive been eyeing them for awhile. Always appreciate every video, keep getting at it.
Screw pricing, what is the best IEM to survive sleeping? A small metal housing that you can lay down on a pillow with, what would you choose? (Yes I’m a degenerate for doing this.)
Definitely not the EA500LM. As someone who has tried dozens of IEMs with precisely the goal of something to sleep with (considering nozzle size, angle, and length, as well as shell size, depth, and positioning), the absolute best choice is the DUNU Falcon Ultra. It also sounds incredible (much better to my ears than anything listed here, like a clear upgrade from the EA500LM), and with the gold nozzle, you get a more relaxed and warm tuning which is perfect to sleep to. Edit: Also, the DUNU comes with a crazy selection of amazing tips and accessories, so you’ll definitely be able to find something with good insertion depth for comfort and stability while sleeping.
Great video, thanks. Looks like the Supermix is the best deal right now. What if you had an extra $500, would you still buy the Supermix or something better?
I reviewed Artti T10 few days ago. To me it is way better. The LM does well in Imaging and Resolution (Mostly Psychoacoustics), T10 is just way better in tuning & refinement. I used LM as a daily driver for commute, for quite some time then sold it.
@@andonlytheone111 Yup this. Even though I enjoyed the T10, it was sharp at times. LM felt more technical in a side-by-side test and just a better all arounder. I know looks are subjective but the T10 is definitely one of the most unassuming IEMs out there, really nothing special in looks department and that does count for something to some people. Even with all that I think the T10 is still insane value for around $50.
Will the Legato do the heavily overdriven tube amp sound of people like David Gilmour? Thinking of the solo in 'Dogs', I really need that to cut, like drill holes in my brain.. With a thick and textured tone, not a sharp and strident one.. So I guess I want thick textured heavy note weight to my treble to go with with my heavy bass, and decent layered mids. How much do I need to pay for that?
@@jayyaudio Thanks for your responsiveness.. I will buy that one.. I have pestered everyone about this, you are the only one to give considered replies.
how the tanchjim 4u ultra standout in this crowd of iems under 100 usd. i enjoy the pop & monitoring mode as i m treble head & prefer very tight & quality bass.
soon we'll get to the point where having no pinna gain at all, flat on the raw graph is widely considered "neutral" again, disregarding years of scientific research. *Insert meme: It is evolving, just backwards*
From my understanding, XuanNv looks to be a Olina SE replacement. Hopefully it is as good.I bought the EA500LM on your recommendation, and it's certainly amazing with the note transients, bass quality and presence. But the Olina SE comes quite close in details and seperation, while having much better timbre, holographic soundstage and magical smoothness. Most of my friends who heard the two also feel the same.
Tangzu x HBB XuanNv are the worst IEMs i have they sound so bad kinda muffled and the qc is terrible the IEMs came all dirty in the box with something like glue all over on them it was really hard to remove you can see they used the cheapest 2pin connector they can find and they couldn't even put metal mesh on the nozzle with the one they have just a little bit of sweat and it's gone destroyed really phatetic set i expected more from HBB and Tangzu definitely much worse then Olina here they don't even give you filter replacements they did with Olina cause those also had this cheap filter mesh XuanNv is definitely the last set i buy from HBB compared to Kefine Delci the Delci is on another level it has much better 2 pin connector not that cheap garbage it also has very good metal filter and you can't even compare the sound it's that good on Delci where on XuanNv is just phatetic garbage
Well summarized list of this crazy price tier.
Can't wait for the Doscinco and DaVinci comparison!
me too my DaVinci is on it's way and i already has Doscinco which is my favorite IEM alongside Letshuoer S15

I am hearing good stuff about the KZ Vader balanced, which graphs similar to the Hydro, despite being a totally different driver config.
Great video. It would be better to include the names of the IEMs in subtitles.

Have the Letshuoer DZ4 been replaced as your best vocal centric iem under $100?
still good, but Tangzu NV is slightly better overall
Kefine Delci
Really love your ranking style. Most satisfying 8+ minute ranking video, so far.
