    Right now I am running 2 SRX815P's with 2 SRX828SP's.... The sound is great but setup and teardown time for a Solo Mobile DJ is really getting old. I have ordered 2 Maui 44 G2's and selling my 2 SRX815P's and 1 of my SRX828SP's. Easier setup and Teardown and when I need the extra low end I will wheel out the 1 SRX828SP dual 18 for Proms/Homecomings etc...
    Good review sir. I am looking forward to these coming in! If anyone is near Atlanta Ga and wants some practically new SRX815P's and a SRX828SP let me know! Letting them go for way under what I paid! :)

    I just heard the LD Maui G2, evolve 50 & RCF EVOX12 side by side. The LD has the best sound, The Bass is warm and deeper compared to the RCF. The RCf tops sound great but it doesn't have the deep bass that i like. The evolve 50 overall sounds good for a 12" sub its a nice size package. The only down fall on the LD is the size. Its huge!!! I might still pick a pair up once they have bags available.

    I got mine Ld Maui 44 G2 about month ago. Did about 6 gigs, the bigest one I had was 120 people and I think the speakers will easily handle 250 -300 people. Still waiting for the covers and bags I purchased together with the speakers. Love it 100%. Good video . Thx.

    At this price you start to run into some stiff competition which would have me at least looking (and listening to) other options. Example: (2) Db Technologies IG3T's over (2) Db Technologies Sub 915's is about the same price and packs some serious, serious output (and clarity). One could argue the above mentioned db Tech system is a bit more flexible of a setup and can be used for small and large events - hence needing to own only one PA system (e.g. tops and subs can be used separately and in different combinations). Don't get me wrong the 44''s seem like great speakers and I certainly trust your assessment (thank you for the vid) - it's just the price has edged up into the territory where lions and tigers also live. Nonetheless enjoy them - as I know you will satisfy many customers with them, and in the end that's what it's all about.

      @@MobilediscowirralCoUk They're ok. They don't go down super low, but they have very nice punch. And they aren't too heavy. Lighter than the Yamaha DXS15-XLF's. Not as light as the Maui's, tho.

      @@MobilediscowirralCoUk Yes i compared the 705 with 905 and no matter what setting i put on the 905 on it just kept limiting ,bang for buck the 705 is better but doesn't go too low in frequency, i was going to get the Sub 915 but got turned off DB when one of my friends IG4T's amps blew cost $700 AUD to replace and that was at a discount otherwise it would have been over $1000.

  • @13bcoffee

    I just checked the price. They are $2900 each or with tax you can expect to pay $6000 for a pair. That seems really steep. However they do get louder than most systems of this type at 132db. Also I can hear from the video that they have much more bass than the Evox.
    I use my array system for weddings and birthdays. The setup is much easier and it's so easy to pack this system up.

    I love your videos... you are really great at doing them. So question for you DJ Barr... How would you compare these Maui 44 G2's to the BassBoss DV12 Mark II's? I know it's a completely different type of sound system, but I am curious of your thoughts on the quality of sound of one vs. the other. I'm leaning towards a purchase of two of the DV12 Mark II"s, but I view these Maui 44 G2's as perhaps a next best option that is slightly less expensive, but since you've reviewed both, I am curious of your thoughts on them in comparison to one another. They are nice and I would never tell anyone what to do because if it works for you that's all that matters. I looked at those and the RCF and the Bose F1 because the L1s weren't the bang for the buck like the F1s are. I just did a high school military ball tonight and I used the 2 PRX1S and they loved it. There aesthetically pleasing upper midrange speakers compared to our standard point source constant curve array speakers. And they’re priced as aesthetic purchases which is overprice for performance. Most column speakers perform like entry level speakers give or take. JS

      @jonathanberube5056 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have them or ever heard them? I have had them for a month now (5gigs) and can personally attest that they are way above entry level. As someone who also uses RCF HD45A and NXL24 tops over 8004 Subs I can tell you these are the real deal!

    • @DJLEOdamadprofessor
      @DJLEOdamadprofessor 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonathanberube5056 give it two or three months they’re still fresh for you. We always live out new toys! I’ve only heard them and they sound good no doubt but 2800 dollars good absolutely not. They are the closest to my etx rig as I’ve ever heard and they are benefits for sure. Wider dispersion and size are a big deal. They are alittle easier on the ears up close but don’t hit the SPL and low frequency performance that our regular boxes have. But I also don’t believe they are supposed too. If these were priced at 1999 I’d feel alittle different about that kind of investment. This is all personal opinion not bad but I don’t believe they are a significant better system than a pair of EKX 18s and EKX12ps. Or rcf 712s and 8005s and they all sit in an sound the same price the traditional boxes being slightly less expensive

    • @jonathanberube5056
      @jonathanberube5056 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DJLEOdamadprofessor I think you are missing the point of these speakers. It is 100% about the look that most customers want to see at their event with 90% of the performance of an SRX800/ETX/KW kinda of system. I also have SRX815P over SRX818Sp system and RCF HD45A or NXL24 over 8004 system for comparison. I would say "real world" SPL is similar to a EKX level setup, but at the same time the EKX take up way more space for transport and takes way more time to setup. The main goal of this system is to get performance nearing SRX/ETX/KW without the obtrusive look and bulk of transport. If I need to melt peoples faces I will just bring my RCF HD45A over (4) 8004, but that is overkill and a 20K sound system. Also I only paid $2,400 for the G2's, so a better deal can be had out there.
