    ⏩ What's with the gloves?
    Not after any TH-cam fame here which is why I'm not in the vids - they're not about me they're about the how-to! I used the gloves for the first couple of projects I filmed which just happened to be messy ones and it kinda just became a thing - easy to spot my videos! If that's not your thing and you'd prefer to watch a face, all good, I won't be offended, there's plenty of better looking ones to watch already on TH-cam ;)
    ⏩ Where did this start?
    I really enjoy tinkering with different projects - they usually require a whole bunch of research and learning along the way. It's satisfying on doing a thing and standing back and going 'Yeah! Totally did that!'. I had a bunch of mates asking 'how did you know how to do that?' and 'I couldn't never do that myself so I thought; I need to start something where I can help others that might be thinking the same thing :)
    ⏩ What will you find here?
    The purpose is simply to make these videos as top quality and helpful as I can. They will always be free, there's ZERO agenda and the only motive is to try and upload what I would want to watch to help with that particular project. I'm also keen to keep building this little community and will try to answer all questions when asked - fire away :)

    FYI, if your head unit doesn't have pre-amp RCA output, the TS-WX130DA can take the input from the speaker wires. I tapped the rear left and right door speaker wires, convert the speaker wire to RCA using a speaker-to-(male)RCA adapter, and finally, connect those RCA cables to the subwoofer.

    • @Chitown388
      @Chitown388 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@harryhayes2048 I'm speculating that the tap doesn't affect the sound of the tapped speaker since the subwoofer is only using that tap as a sound signal, and not using it to power the subwoofer speaker. The amp in the subwoofer drives the subwoofer speaker based on that input sound signal.

  • @antoinebugleboy

    You can splice the subwoofer into your speaker wires from your head unit. You don't have to use RCA outputs.
    From Crutchfield: . "If you're connecting to a factory radio (or a radio without RCA outputs), you can cut the RCA plugs off of the input harness and splice it to the speaker wires."
    I did the exact same thing with another active subwoofer box and it works fine.

    • @antoinebugleboy
      @antoinebugleboy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Also, if you use speaker level input, you won't need to use a remote power wire.
      "Note: If you are using speaker-level inputs, the amplifier will automatically turn itself on when the head unit is turned on. When the head unit is turned off, the amplifier will turn itself off."

      I just installed this sub, cut off the RCAs and wired the input cables to both rear speakers. The sub wouldn't power on though. Ran a remote wire to the accessory wire and it powers on but extremely low volume. Changed the input switch to RCA and all of a sudden it works perfectly sounds great. But my car has an auto door locking feature, and now when I start driving and the doors lock, the sub pops, the volume drops and the signal sounds messy. Any advice would be appreciated, I've tried everything i can think of!

    By directly connecting the power supply to the battery, there will be no continuous power consumption from the battery, which will be manifested by a constantly discharged battery, there should be a power supply connected to the audio fuse using a fuse saddle and thus the subwoofer power supply would take place by turning the ignition key or card after +12v after ignition (translete in google ;) )

    Howdy, just come across this video (and your channel) because I'm getting one of these subs for Xmas. Thanks for the video, I found it useful. I have two (2) observations to make:
    1. you didn't say what sort of tape you wrapped that connection with about halfway thro' (it was speeded up), but it looked very much like PVC tape to me (erroneously called 'insulation tape' by many). PVC tape will unwind and leave behind a sticky horrible mess in no time flat in a car interior. Much better to use heatshrink tube or self amalgamating tape
